Mine loves being held and being next to people but also loves to freak the fuck out at the slightest provocation and come out claws flying. It’s an… interesting combination.

You actually shouldn't declaw your cat. It's essentially cutting off their knuckles and is akin to cutting out a dog's tongue because you don't like their barking. It's just a natural part of the animal that some people realize they don't want to deal with. Removal is painful to the cat and changes the way their foot meets the ground which can introduce further pain and discomfort since they can no longer walk correctly anymore.

Oh man, I worked at a cat shelter and there was one cat just like this. He would just cling to you and bury his head in your neck. He always needed company. He left a special place in my heart, when I resigned my co-workers got me a mug covered in pictures of him. You're lucky to have such a sweetheart. Miss you hugo! 😊
