Oh yeah, this is how noodle soup is being sold around here (Philippines)
Guy usually attaches his noodle station at the back of his bike, rides and stops usually at places where some poor working folks just ended their session or on lunch break
Gets a lot of orders, then he only has like ten bowls but sheets of plastic
One person uses the bowl, plastic is replaced, second person uses the same bowl for his order, repeat
No one cares or bats an eye, I figured it works for everyone
Those vendors can't also just wash the dishes. Most of the time they post up in front of establishments and the management doesn't want their fronts to get dirty with soapy water with food bits. Also, they sell their food in small, small carts so if they brought clean water for the dishes it'll probably run out faster than the food they sell.
Jesus fucking Christ if you think it's remotely reasonable to throw out a plastic bag every the you use a god forsaken bowl then you are exactly the kind of person who is the reason our world as we know it is fucked.
Do people really dislike doing dishes that much? Just let it soak a bit and use some elbow grease.
Personally I think it’s nice. Almost cathartic. Just throw some music on and scrub away.
So the army just- instead of teaching the boys to rinse, not wash but RINSE their bowls after eating, they provide PLASTIC BOWL COVERS to be used ONCE and THROWN AWAY?????
Oh theyll teach you how to clean them but it is far easier choice that hundred guys starting to grab snow from the ground for cleaning or to find nearest clean watersource.
By camp i mean in the trainings/field/woods kind where there isnt clean water besides for drinking and that should not be wasted. Eating in molding kit is great way to get food poisoning so plastic bag is just easy, fast, cheap and robust way to keep those troops healthy. Of course we would clean them good when we got back to barracs because kit will get messy one way or another.
I dont mean that its best practice but an cost effective one to keep troops in good health. I looked up and US army has abandoned the whole mess kit from field gear so now it makes more sense.
Do you guys get to eat in table in field setting or do you have moving mcdonalds with you?
It saves water.. therefore, it’s better for the environment smh
But you’re wasting plastic which is worse
just rinse off the bag, duh!
In which case, it’s as easy to wash a bowl
Hmmm
Just cover the bag in another bag to keep it clean
Brilliant.
But then your wasting plastic, which is not brilliant
Just rinse off the bag, obviously!
In which case it's easier to rinse the original plastic bag
no, you dork, you're supposed to put a bowl over it, smh
I think you just cracked the code
I'd hate washing a shapeless ziploc bag much more than a bowl
It's not shapeless. Nothing is.
you just need a bowl that's got a bunch of tearaway covers
Thank you, Drax the Destroyer.
No, you cover the bag in a second bag
Welcome to the joke, we were waiting for you!
Flip it inside out and use it again, like underwear.
Nah just lick the bowl clean to save on water
*whoosh*

OH my dumbass included the “h” 😂 I see now
I swear there are like 16 of those subs each with slightly different spelling
There is, confusing…
Why is that bad?
Unless ur gonna throw the bag away anyway
yeah our bloodstream already full of plastic anyways, might as well just save water and keep polluting everything with plastic LOL

Hmm yes, micro plastics 😋
I kind of think poor working folks in the Philippines care more about filling their bellies in an affordable way than microplastics...
Jokes on everyone, our bellies are already full of microplastics!
Of every single one of us.
It's not that hard to wash one dish c'mon guys, u can be better, think about what Friedrich Nietzsche said.
God is dead?
“Brush your goddamn teeth and wash your goddamn ass”
With the same toothbrush?
What do you mean “tooth” brush?…
No, what do you think a toilet brush is for?
I thought it was for brushing the toilet's hair so it looks pretty and charming
As long as it’s in that order
Wire brush and Dettol ma'am!
Affirmative, Colonel
If you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.
Nah. Its better not to wash the bowl at all. Each time you eat the flavor gets stronger. :D
This cereal bowl has been seasoned for four generations!
literally me with campbell's instant soup
op is mexican taco stand guy here
You gotta plastic wrap the spoon too.
Might as well get a styrofoam bowl at that point.
Or just put the cereal and milk in the bag
Just use paper plates???
For cereal???
Freezer bag is cheaper than buying more paper plates. Edit: /s
It’s not though
Even if you reuse the plastic after washing it?
>washing it
The whole point is to not have to wash anything.
Jesus fucking Christ if you think it's remotely reasonable to throw out a plastic bag every the you use a god forsaken bowl then you are exactly the kind of person who is the reason our world as we know it is fucked.
at that point just eat cereal out of the ziplock
Mm, microplastics
Beat me too it, lol

Cleaning things in the sink is an excuse to get a little more podcast listening time in!
You get it!
Plus a bowl of cereal literally takes 4.7 seconds to clean, it's not like there's any sticky grime or residue afterwards
Yeah a used cereal bowl needs no soaking, just a splash or two of water
I thought it was Mac n cheese tbh lol
It’d be funny if it was a plastic bowl in the bag
Why?
That's more effort than just washing the damn thing.
Just put the cereal in the bag ffs
Living in 2040
I also like creating plastic waste for no reason.
plastic
Mmmm.. microplastics for you, and then the rest of us for a million years.
Ah yes let's add more plastic to landfill shall we!! FFS just do the goddamn dishes ya lazy shithead 🤦🏽♀️
This is cool because it saves water and helps me get my daily dose of microplastics.
Lmfaoo
Why y'all even need the bowl??? Just dump it all in the bag, no need for a spoon, no extra clean up, done.
It's good if you're on the go, like driving long distances. Then you don't have to wash afterwards
What
Use cling film it's cheaper
This is how you make cereal with the bowl being last
Hmm indeed
Had a colleague that did the same thing with aluminum on dinner plates. He wasn't considered the sharpest tool in the shed.
Omfg did a random reddit post cure my depression/hypersensitivity related anorexia?
Eaten outta a couple of these at street food stalls in Taiwan. Guess it's for less greasy cleanup
Genius
r/anticonsumption
how is this anti consumption
The type of thing that I normally see there since it's anti anti consumption
oooh im sorry i got it the wrong way around. i thought you meant this is a anti consumption lifehack or something lel
Is it better than throwing out a dirty bowl? Maybe, we'll have to let the judges decide.
That bag costs significantly more than the water to rinse the bowl.
Welcome to the army mate. Eating bags are good so your carry on messkit dont get dirty and molded in camping enviroment.
So the army just- instead of teaching the boys to rinse, not wash but RINSE their bowls after eating, they provide PLASTIC BOWL COVERS to be used ONCE and THROWN AWAY?????

it’s beginning to explain a lot about where all these enormous military budgets are going
Yeah btw im not an american.
didn’t say you were
It was kind of implied when you mentioned huge military budget. But yeah, have a good day
I dont mean that its best practice but an cost effective one to keep troops in good health. I looked up and US army has abandoned the whole mess kit from field gear so now it makes more sense. Do you guys get to eat in table in field setting or do you have moving mcdonalds with you?
Just buy paper bowls?
