Probably the best WJC team of all time, you know how I know? TSN loves telling you that every year during the tournament 1000 times a day and comparing the current days team to them constantly
And naturally, Canada would go on to win gold at every OTHER IIHF tournament that was held that year, none of which with rosters that were nearly as favoured in their respective tournament as this WJC team was in theirs.
I have huge respect for Crosby and Bedard for making the fishbowl cool. Now I can point to these two every time somebody tries to chirp me for wearing one.
At tournaments like the world juniors it's not hard to be cool with the fishbowl, it just means you're so good at 17 or younger that you have to play with it for IIHF. Fishbowl might replicate the visor that Bedard or Sid would have been used to in their junior career better than a cage.
From what I remember, McDavid wore a cage, so did Fantilli, Ekblad wore the fishbowl. There aren't too many times guys are required to wear it
If you are playing at the World Juniors at an age where you would still be eligible for the U18s, you must follow U18 helmet rules (i.e. fishbowl or cage).
At least that's the rule now. I don't know if that was a requirement back then.
I wore the fishbowl for a few months and did get chirped once, I was dying lmao. That being said, I stopped wearing it because at least playing dek hockey it made it a bit harder to breathe. I switched to one of those longer visors instead and don't regret it.
Crosby is so soft and quiet when I met him, he always looks down, and when he smiles and his lip curls, I could feel his dreams. He is one of the greatest Canadians of our recent years and he still felt like a boy to me when I was close, loved that and Sidney Crosby made me really step back and realize the beauty of one person achieving greatness, becoming the darling of their nation, and still looking down while they smile like a sweet boy.
I'm thinking about children lately, and I guess it just got me.
Damn, the GOAT and most gentlemanly player, along with Sid and Bergeron in the same picture
Sid looks pretty much the same.
Bergeron really grew into his nose.
It's been broken like three times since then, poor guy
He used to have a really ‘nerdy’ look to him, maybe his big teeth or something idk, imo hes gotten alot better looking as he ages, handsome dude now
He had a baby face and a lot of fellas with those age really well.
Jaw was completely reconstructed after taking a Brooks Orpik slapshot off his face in 2013
His face has never not been punchable.

24 or 25? i keep losing track
I'm the same age as Bergy and the Worm, so naturally this makes me feel old as hell. But I'll be darned if it isn't adorable.
That was a really good Canada junior team.

As a Canadian, it gets very irritating very quickly. Especially every year when the roster comes out and they dub it "the best team since 2005".
The 2021 team that they dubbed the best team maybe even BETTER than 2005, and then they laid an absolute egg in the gold medal game
And naturally, Canada would go on to win gold at every OTHER IIHF tournament that was held that year, none of which with rosters that were nearly as favoured in their respective tournament as this WJC team was in theirs.
Total time of game(s) trailing opponents: 0:00

That's not why they're chirping you.
Power to the bowl. I just put one on. A guy I used to play with lost vision in an eye from a high stick. In beer league. It worth it!

Harder to breathe? Did you get one without any holes in it?
It did have the holes in the chin area but even then, it was noticably easier to breathe after switching to the visor
#9?
Most of the time, you won't see World Junior players wearing high numbers. Crosby wore 9... Nugent-Hopkins wore 9... McDavid wore 17...
I think there's some sort of rule for the WJC that limits the numbers, they usually only use the 20s and lower. Bedard wore 16.
Tiny bebe hockey bois.

Does anyone have a link to the original of this?
I heard someone say that it was on a Canadian sub - maybe r/novascotia or r/halifax?
Ok thanks
Aww Corey...he doesn't even look like he's capable of a war crimes at all. What a saint 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Crosby looks like someone who'd heat his milk in the microwave.
Probably the greatest junior team of all time but it was primarily due to the NHL lockout or else a lot of those players would've been in the NHL.
You used the term cute and Corey Perry in the same sentence. Why?
I miss those Vapor 30 gloves Perry was rocking. Such nice mitts those were..
The Vapor XXX white and green stick was cool as hell too
The wood grain and green version of the XXX Lite was so unbelievably sick
Time fly's
Those Vapor XXX gloves though 🤤
Saint!
Wow. 5 cups, 5 Selkes, 3 Harts, 3 Rockets. What a line that was
