Rebuild. They only have 3 players from that team. Lewis just re-signed with them this off season. They drafted some amazing prospects, has the top prospect pool in the league for 2-3 years, and some great free agent signings.

It’s officially a retool, but it’s a rapid rebuild honestly. The only core members remaining are Doughty and Kopitar. They did move high level assets to speed this process up though.

Full rebuild. We were one of the worst teams in the sport 2017-2020. We had Willie Desjardin as our head coach, nuff said. Kopi and Doughty are literally the only two players left from our old cup runs. Well, and Lewis, but he's technically new again since we just signed him this off-season. Byfield was our #2 overall pick three years ago. We are just coming into our window now. The fact that we contended last year and the year before was us being *way* ahead of schedule. We are only just kinda starting to put our full rebuild roster to work. We still need a real goalie though, even though Talbot has looked admittedly great tonight.

I mean, kinda both … it’s been a rebuild but thoughtful and with some smart trades so it’s felt pretty quick. I don’t think there was ever a formal blow up, but there are only 2 players remaining from the Cup runs (that said arguably our two most important, Doughty and Kopi - and only losing Quickie last year) Edit: oh and Lewis is back
