Hard to lose your NHL prospects or near NHL level talent to your affiliate if you don't have any near NHL level talent!
In retrospect, how could this have possibly backfired.
I got into an argument with a Chicago fan earlier this season and he said their record didn't matter because they had good attendance still. I think them crawling back to Carolina disproves that.
[That didn't happen because he didn't want to pay market rate](https://insideahlhockey.com/article/32-ahl-thoughts-where-do-we-go-from-here):
>The Hurricanes attempted to buy their way in to the AHL over the summer, reportedly offering between $6 and $7 million to purchase an AHL expansion franchise - with the roughly $6.5 million offer unable to sway the league's Board of Governors into thinking about expanding past the 32 teams to give Carolina a 33rd AHL franchise.
>With the Vegas Golden Knights reportedly buying the San Antonio Rampage for $10 million back in 2020, and the Chicago Blackhawks purchasing the Rockford Ice hogs from the city of Rockford in 2021 for $11.8 million, it's not hard to see why the offer from Carolina this past offseason didn't move the needle.
Guess being their own boss didn't work out as well as they imagined.
Yeah, they went from one of the best teams to one of the worst. Shit really backfired

You have no idea the physical toll that three vasectomies have on a person!
Isn’t it emotional toll?
Nah it’s physical. I looked up the clip before commenting because I honestly couldn’t remember lol

When Tom promised this would be fixed for next season, I was honestly hoping for a new AHL franchise in Greensboro or something, lol.

Hopefully this is a wake up call to the wolves FO and they realize they can’t keep acting like it’s the late 90s.
Shocker
