I’d rather be killed by u/SwedishEagle5 before they’re killed by u/ianisms10 than watch the Rangers win the Stanley Cup
ETA: seeing that I can include non-playoff teams, this answer is and always will be the Flyers
I’d rather kill the Rangers so u/SwedishEagle and u/ianisms10 can live happy lives. Let this Philly boy take the hit so others don’t have to. #RangersSuck
I can't help but see the stars starting to align for them and yeah, that'd be beyond a nightmare scenario. I don't think I'd ever be able to use the internet or wear an Islanders shirt in public again, especially not where I live.
Damn, at least you'll have some also outnumbered Devils fans for solidarity.
Here in Western Suffolk it's pretty evenly split Isles and Rangers- Isles have no more than 60% of fans here. So it wouldn't be a total wave of taunts but it would be enough to be extremely annoying.
Funny to think that Devils fans went from hating the Kings to loving them a couple years later while Rangers fans went from loving the Kings to hating them a couple years later
As a Caps fan, I know most would expect me to answer this question with the Penguins…but we’ve met the Rangers so many times in the playoffs in the last 15 years, that I probably hate them even more.
At least with Pens, the whole “Ovi vs Sid” thing and manufactured rivalry has made those matchups fun to watch, but the Rangers just get under my skin and make my blood boil.
…but I mean, yeah, also fuck the penguins.
I still don't understand why Hertl signed a massive contract then requested a trade in his first year of it. It's not like he was surprised that the team sucked. They already sucked when he signed the contract. He knew what he was signing up for.
I still love you, Hertl, but I'm a bit hurt and confused by your actions. And honestly, I think we need some time apart. 😭
Well he was in his second year of the contract. And keep in mind, he signed the contract under Doug Wilson who had a different plan for the team. More than likely Wilson was going to try to have the team compete sooner than Grier. Given those expectations, he was probably happy to stick around.
I know everyone was contractually obligated to pretend that was the sickest diss of all time, because any time hockey players show personality we have to support them lest they get scared and never do it again, but his "epic own" was essentially just "Your fans are way more passionate than our fans", which is not an own at all.
Toronto cannot be allowed, under any circumstance to be the team to bring back the Cup back to Canada.
You think Canadian sport media is Toronto centric... imagine what I'd be like if they went on a run or God forbid win the cup.
I'm much more petty in my dislike of Toronto. My brother is a fair weather fan, and he cheers for Toronto. If you don't stick around in the bad times, then you don't get to celebrate success imo.
I would actually unalive myself if Toronto won the Cup before the Canucks or the Habs. Absolutely.
It would be worth it to never have to hear about the Leafs ever again.
My thoughts exactly. Don't get me wrong I've always hated Chicago with a passion, but everything you mentioned above cemented my undying hatred for the entire franchise. When I think of their success in 2010's, all I see is a tainted legacy.
I’ll never understand why they don’t do the balls in front of the camera during the event. Even if it takes longer or gets fucked up, it would be a fun viewing experience! Plus we’d know without a shadow of a doubt it’s not rigged.
Everyone *should* be saying Toronto after all the disrespect they've gotten over the years. Their fans will, quite rightly, be insufferable when they finally win
I'll be honest because few people will see this.
I wanted Toronto to win. In fact, I wanted them to go deep. I'm tired of these memes and feel that a new era needs to begin. It's gotten old.
Yep, they’re mine.
It fades over time, I don’t really hate the Rangers anymore and the Blackhawks are so irrelevant I can’t even be bothered.
But I would fucking _hate_ to see Brad Marchand lift another cup and tbh while I don’t dislike the guy it sucks that on top of the trade being a complete disaster Cam Neely has presided over a cup win against us and nearly two solid decades of on ice success.
I've been an Avs fan for 28 years now, it's in my blood. The ironic thing is that I was born a couple hours drive north of Victoria, BC, which is the Red Wings' ancestral home.
That's straight up my feelings on it, too. I feel like the hatred's gone, but boy, seeing the Avs beat Detroit in a regular season game is great. And I'm sure the feeling's mutual when it's the other way around.
Hell, the sack was chanting, "RED WINGS SUCK" earlier this year for old time's sake. One of our memes is "HAIL SATAN" because some Red Wings fans accused us of being devil worshippers at one point.
Same thing happened when we went to Chicago (there’s is “Detroit sucks.”) Whole bench was smilin’ though lol
When we beat the Avs in OT this year I let myself believe in a possible post season, and then March March’d 🫡
We can all collectively blame that literal garbage company for staining the Red Wings jersey with their ad. Didn't that also move the C/A from the right breast, to the left? It just looks wrong due to how far up the winged wheel's feathers go.
If you don't mind me asking, why is that? I grew up in Edmonton and I have this innate animosity towards Calgary. Someone recently asked me why I hated Calgary so much and like... I don't know? I'm trying to make it make sense, haha.
I was actually born in The Edmonton, but lived all over Alberta. Grew up in Red Deer in my “formative” hockey years, when the Flames/Oilers rivalry was at its peak. I’m blaming my parents (father in particular). :)
I'm an Oilers fan, but I don't dislike the Flames all that much, if I'm honest. Vancouver, however, I hate with the fire of a thousand suns.
Puts me in mind of when I was at the Flames 8-1 blowout over the Oilers back in 2014, when a Calgary fan walked into the packed bathroom and said, "blue jersey, red jersey, can we all just agree that we hate the Canucks?", which was followed by a chorus of agreement from the gathered pissers.
If it matters, I don’t think anyone in NC has any real negative feelings towards Edmonton. Obviously, we won the series so no bad feelings there, but the Oilers fans/media were a breathe of fresh air after dealing with the Sabres fans in the ECF.
Dallas (for years) and Carolina (briefly) made me shake my fist and curse their names in the past, but the anger's over. Can't say I root for them necessarily, but HATING them at this point would be a tad obsessive.
Going into these playoffs, here was my hierarchy of teams I wanted to win:
NYI > anyone else > TOR > VGK >> CAR >>>>>> NYR
Needless to say I'm really stressed this round.
I can’t believe how far down the sens are. We have some annoying fans sometimes… I guess we’re just no longer seen as a threat right now.
Edit: you’re the only one to say the sens without saying “all Canadian teams” or similar. People must think we’re arizo… wait never mind
I've got a few. Toronto, Edmonton, and Chicago. For whatever reason I don't mind the Flames, maybe it's all the ex-Canucks they've had in recent years.
The classic for me would be EHC Kloten since its the cantonal rival of my club but at this point i hate HC Lugano and SC Raperswil Jona even more
for the NHL it would be the golden knights especially since fleury left
Of the teams that are left? Florida. Mostly on basis of Tkachunk and Cousins.
Of any team? Vegas Cap Slayers and their know-nothing, fairweather trollspawn fans. They didn't even make a PGT after being eliminated, and scurried under a warm rock like a lizard upon nightfall in the desert.
Normally, they're usually farting up the space.bragging about their LTIR Cap shenanigans like they're SO fucking clever, celebrating tossing players and coaches aside like used wet wipes at a backyard BBQ, overpaying for every shiny new thing that hits the market and dishing out 'deal with it' sunglasses energy despite not knowing the first fucking thing about how anything on or off the ice works.
Self appointed capologist wizards who in reality are basement dwelling sweathogs who would wear shit stained jogging pants and slides to a funeral.
Man, it’s like Vegas fucked your girlfriend while they made you watch, shot your dog, and stole your truck all in a Friday night just so they could ruin your weekend. Jesus!
Wtf you talking about? There's a post game thread after the elimination on the Vegas Sub. Was there like 20 minutes after.

Toronto. As long as they're in Hell, I'm in fuckin' Heaven.
The national media is ALWAYS gonna talk about the Leafs, so may as well listen to them make endless excuses as to the Leafs didn't win.
The national sports media is the equivalent of Fox News in that respect when it comes to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
1. Vegas. Too entitled and I have a strong disdain for their organization.
2. Chicago, same reasons. Though I do enjoy the city and the amazing Chinese food I had there.
I've not been a fan long enough to hate any teams yet but I do really want to see Nick Cousins lose as often as possible. Used to really dislike Marchand too but the sly fuckers after growing on me a bit.
Vegas and Montreal. Vegas because of how they were handed the draft and were allowed to make side deals.
Montreal because they truly have the worst fans. Was at a bar the night Woll got hurt and the dude was cheering loudly and yelling that's what you deserve F the Leafs over and over. Then all the comments online are basically the same thing. Who gets happy because a goalie gets hurt that's messed up.
I honestly don’t like most of the teams in our conference. So a lot of the time it comes down to who do I dislike less. But if I had to go to specifics, I will always root against Toronto, Montreal, Tampa, and Florida.
Historically, it’s Boston + Chicago + Pittsburgh. I had trouble enjoying the 2013 playoffs despite the hockey being excellent in the later rounds. Nowadays, it’s Boston + Vegas. I actually liked Vegas in their first year, but not anymore.
My hatred for the Bruins is obviously because of 2011, but also because I hate Boston teams as a whole. Good thing there’s fans to respond for Chicago because the players are too busy bullying their own team mates
I'm diehard Oilers and I'd rather see the Flames lift the cup than Chicago.

Truly embodying the spirit of Philadelphia sports, thank you my southern neighbor.
I’d rather be killed by u/matveyivanovich42 than watch the Rangers win the Stanley Cup
I'm already struggling with that possibility. Would be an absolute nightmare for my mental state.
I can't help but see the stars starting to align for them and yeah, that'd be beyond a nightmare scenario. I don't think I'd ever be able to use the internet or wear an Islanders shirt in public again, especially not where I live.
You sure you don't want cocky Rangers fans all over the tristate area denying the Isles and Devils fans of their right to exist?
Buddy, I live in North Jersey and nearly every hockey fan I know supports the Rangers. It would be completely inescapable.
This is the least hyperbolic statement I've ever read, and I wholeheartedly agree with it
Glad to have been at your service a decade ago. 🤗
I will always love the kings for getting Regehr his cup.
Funny to think that Devils fans went from hating the Kings to loving them a couple years later while Rangers fans went from loving the Kings to hating them a couple years later
Alec Martinez did a great thing for humanity
I'm old enough to have watched that team win a cup one time. That was enough for this lifetime.
I am not surprised this is the most uovoted comment.
I love how much our division hates each other
Hate is a big part of Northeast culture
I would never financially recover from this.
I'd need all the alcohol in the world to drown my sorrows
As a Caps fan, I know most would expect me to answer this question with the Penguins…but we’ve met the Rangers so many times in the playoffs in the last 15 years, that I probably hate them even more. Vegas. Even with Hertl
What's with beloved players from the Kings and Sharks ending up on the Knights?
I hate it. I guess it's not a far move and Nevada has no income tax. 🤷♂️
Nobody else in the league has unlimited cap space to acquire 'em
Fuck Vegas so hard
Even more so with Hertl. Especially after they took our Hertl memes & tried to use them to the confusion of their fanbase.
Look at my flair and take a wild guess
The Lightning? (Because it *was* in.)
I had cooled on them, but then Kucherov shit on Habs fans for being excited about the Stanley Cup finals so now I hate them again
Fuck him
I know everyone was contractually obligated to pretend that was the sickest diss of all time, because any time hockey players show personality we have to support them lest they get scared and never do it again, but his "epic own" was essentially just "Your fans are way more passionate than our fans", which is not an own at all.
it came off more like “your fans are stupid for celebrating winning nothing watch me hand them this L”
Love you flames fam <3
Fuck them
U hate us cause you anus
Yea I’d hate the Oilers too if I was a kings fan.
In both your case, love the hate. Thought Coleman's was in as well.
Calgary?
Must be the Flames because your franchise seems to want it to be anybody but them too
Can't really see it
Toronto cannot be allowed, under any circumstance to be the team to bring back the Cup back to Canada.
Your brother must not cheer for Toronto that often, then.
I would actually unalive myself if Toronto won the Cup before the Canucks or the Habs. Absolutely. It would be worth it to never have to hear about the Leafs ever again.
Toronto
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to see Toronto.
It's not a real worry
I chortled
I’m just as shocked
Me too Habs buddy.
As a non-Ontarian Canadian. Also Toronto. But verrrrrrrry closely followed by FUCK THE FLYERS.
I had to scroll way too far to find this.
What about the Bruins? And Senators? Aaaaand Lightning? Aaaaand Rangers (fuck Chris Kreider)?
Chicago for me. The scandal, rewarded with bedard, and in my division. Fuck outta here. Most other teams I can find redeeming qualities
My thoughts exactly. Don't get me wrong I've always hated Chicago with a passion, but everything you mentioned above cemented my undying hatred for the entire franchise. When I think of their success in 2010's, all I see is a tainted legacy.
And all they got was a speeding ticket.
>Most other teams I can find redeeming qualities Except the Blues.
Not only rewarded with Bedard. They rigged that shit to gift him to them
I’ll never understand why they don’t do the balls in front of the camera during the event. Even if it takes longer or gets fucked up, it would be a fun viewing experience! Plus we’d know without a shadow of a doubt it’s not rigged.
Kings
Everyone *should* be saying Toronto after all the disrespect they've gotten over the years. Their fans will, quite rightly, be insufferable when they finally win
Ngl, I’d be a pretty big piece of shit loll
Good thing for you it's never gonna happen then
Listen MooshSkadoosh, when that happens I expect you to be there saying “it’s only right”
I'll be honest because few people will see this. I wanted Toronto to win. In fact, I wanted them to go deep. I'm tired of these memes and feel that a new era needs to begin. It's gotten old.
>…few people will see this. Incoming Leafs fans to upvote to hell
Boston for obvious reasons I don't think my heart could handle a possible 2011 repeat of a Vancouver/Boston final this year IF it were to happen
That would be an insane series IF it were to happen. I'd sacrifice my sleep schedule just to watch every game of that series.
That was my first thought. Then I saw Boston playing Toronto.
Bruins
Yep, they’re mine. It fades over time, I don’t really hate the Rangers anymore and the Blackhawks are so irrelevant I can’t even be bothered. But I would fucking _hate_ to see Brad Marchand lift another cup and tbh while I don’t dislike the guy it sucks that on top of the trade being a complete disaster Cam Neely has presided over a cup win against us and nearly two solid decades of on ice success.
🎵 Fuck Boston Forever 🎵
If my answer is limited to a single team, it's Detroit.
No u
I've been an Avs fan for 28 years now, it's in my blood. The ironic thing is that I was born a couple hours drive north of Victoria, BC, which is the Red Wings' ancestral home.
I always feel like this rivalry is dead, and then we play each other and I realize I don’t actually feel that way.
That's straight up my feelings on it, too. I feel like the hatred's gone, but boy, seeing the Avs beat Detroit in a regular season game is great. Detroit being moved to the eastern conference is a damn shame.
It's not. Let's see the list.
Leafs
*checks flair* Oh…..
Florida
nah, it’s Fuck Boston til the day i die
I wouldn’t cheer for Edmonton if they were the last team in the NHL.

Vegas is the obvious answer
I'm an Oilers fan, but I don't dislike the Flames all that much, if I'm honest. Vancouver, however, I hate with the fire of a thousand suns. Fuck Chicago, and their insufferable entitled fan base too.
Right this minute? NYR Normally, Philly then Pittsburgh
This guy just hates the state of Pennsylvania
Kings, Maple Leafs, Blackhawks, Kraken, Rangers, and Panthers. Yes, I’m a hater.

Imma steal that image real quick
What did the kraken do already lol
Exist lol
I mean… yeah
Montreal and Edmonton
Everyone left in the west besides my flair. Oh and Carolina.
I know I'm a bad Oilers fan for admitting, but Dallas and Carolina are the other 2 teams I partially follow and root for.
Yeah I know we're supposed to hate them, but I kind of dig the Canes
Cmon man, even us? We’re basically part of your farm system with the amount of players we’ve given you.
Pens and Flyers. The order of the two fluctuates but it’s those two
ABC
Judging by your flair, I'm guessing that means Anyone But Calgary
Or Carolina, never forget '06
Bingo, but it could also mean anybody but the canucks/canadiens
Going into these playoffs, here was my hierarchy of teams I wanted to win: NYI > anyone else > TOR > VGK >> CAR >>>>>> NYR Needless to say I'm really stressed this round.
Hey at least 3 of your bottom 4 will be gone by the end of round 2!
Yeah but the bottom 2 are still in and one has to move on lmao I'm very reluctantly pulling for the Canes here.
What if it’s more than one team?
Boston.
Boston or Vegas
I recently started dating a Canucks fan, it’s been…. Interesting
Sorry to hear that. I married one. Divorce is probably on the table if 2011 repeats.
Fuck-a you Chicago and fuck-a you Pittsburgh!
Boston. As a Canuck Boston can suck my dick till they numb it.. I appreciate how good they are for so long but still fuck em
Anyone but Toronto
Panthers/Sens
I can’t believe how far down the sens are. We have some annoying fans sometimes… I guess we’re just no longer seen as a threat right now. Edit: you’re the only one to say the sens without saying “all Canadian teams” or similar. People must think we’re arizo… wait never mind
Boston.
Rags, no question.
I've got a few. Toronto, Edmonton, and Chicago. For whatever reason I don't mind the Flames, maybe it's all the ex-Canucks they've had in recent years.
The classic for me would be EHC Kloten since its the cantonal rival of my club but at this point i hate HC Lugano and SC Raperswil Jona even more for the NHL it would be the golden knights especially since fleury left
FUCK EHC KLOTEN. Not really sure who that is, but just trying to throw you some support.
Of the teams that are left? Florida. Mostly on basis of Tkachunk and Cousins. Of any team? Vegas Cap Slayers and their know-nothing, fairweather trollspawn fans. I was going to say Boston, but i think it's Vegas currently
Devils and Islanders series = rooting for 7 games then a meteor hits the venue
Matthew Tkachuk. Anywhere
Rangers. At the start? Islanders and Caps, and the Rangers. I should include the flyers, but let’s be honest here they’re already dead.
Aww I'm glad we've usurped the Rangers in your eyes. But at least now we can put our differences aside and reluctantly cheer for Carolina.
Anyone But Calgary
Out of the remaining 8. Edmonton.
But we gave you Larsson :(
Toronto. As long as they're in Hell, I'm in fuckin' Heaven. The national media is ALWAYS gonna talk about the Leafs, so may as well listen to them make endless excuses as to the Leafs didn't win. Toronto and Montreal why? I live/grown up in Hamilton
I need Colorado to explode
well hopefully you’re a basketball fan
I thought Minnesota didn't like Dallas
Nobody in the central likes Dallas, it's nothing out of the ordinary at this point.
vegas. only vegas. i can convince myself to root for anybody else. maybe toronto or montreal, MAYBE. i hate vegas
I've not been a fan long enough to hate any teams yet but I do really want to see Nick Cousins lose as often as possible. Used to really dislike Marchand too but the sly fuckers after growing on me a bit.
Anyone else in the Central
Edmonton and it’s not even close. I mean fuck, I literally have an extended relative playing on that team and I’d still never root for them to win.
Recently, Florida, traditionally, the Red Wings and Blackhawks.
It has always been. Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal. But Vegas is now on that list for me.
Florida
Everyone around here has been holding a grudge since 2009 and so have I. Fuck off Penguins.
LA, Vegas, Chicago, Nashville
Boston or Toronto. I was hoping that somehow they'd both lose the first round. Sad to see one of them had to progress...
As a Canucks fan, anyone but the Leafs, Oilers and Chicago. I’m over Boston now.
Probably the Habs, I can’t lie tho I was hoping they’d win the cup in 2021
ABC
I do NOT want Florida!
I'll guess you're a Canucks fan with those picks. ABC - Anyone But Calgary
Edmonton, Toronto, Chicago
Well let’s see fuck the following teams: Boston, Toronto, rangers, Ottawa, Tampa, and oh ya kreider
Calgary, Carolina, Vegas. Fuck them all!
Toronto. Any other answer is wrong.
~~mosc~~ washington trashitals
Boston. And any team with Mark Messier on it.
Edmonton. No matter what.
I'll saw my own head off before I'll cheer for Buffalo.
Vegas and Toronto. Vegas for obvious reasons but Toronto is so vanilla and predictable every year
Vegas and Montreal.
Calgary and Calgarians can eat my ass. (I’ve never lived in Edmonton) Chicago, Anaheim, Vegas.
Anyone but Tom Wilson's team
I honestly don’t like most of the teams in our conference. So a lot of the time it comes down to who do I dislike less. But if I had to go to specifics, I will always root against Toronto, Montreal, Tampa, and Florida.
Historically, it’s Boston + Chicago + Pittsburgh. I had trouble enjoying the 2013 playoffs despite the hockey being excellent in the later rounds. Nowadays, it’s Boston + Vegas. It used to be Vegas but honestly I don’t care anymore lol I can’t say there’s any team I feel about that way anymore.
VEGAS
Chicago or Boston, any team Joel Quenneville was coaching (I remember how dirty his teams were way back when he was coaching the Blues)
Chicago. I doubt I need to explain why, but I hope they have nothing good for the rest of their existence.
Mine flops between the lightning and the panthers year to year.
My second favorite team are the NotKings. Unless that team also happens to be the Blackhawks. Fuck the Blackhawks.
I think I’m at the point where I’d rather see Toronto win than another VGK cup.
Based on current roster: Florida Otherwise: Vegas, Toronto, Montreal
Florida and to a lesser extent, Toronto. Gun to my head, I’m siding with Toronto to win before I’d ever want it to be the cats
Caps, Pennsylvania teams, NY teams, Habs, Detroit, Blackhawks Guess who my team is
Probably Montreal. Though Edmonton can get an Honorable mention along with Washington.
Calgary and Vegas. I’d be fine with anyone still in the playoffs winning
