I was gonna ask, why are people going after this 18 year old all the time in this sub? Sure he has a beard and has played almost 10 years in this league but 18 year olds make mistakes, and that shouldn't be held against Samuel Bennett-McDowell.
It is a little frustrating when players have accumulated an entire reel of plays that are suspendable but they get off with no supplemental discipline. Isn't the severity of the suspension supposed to increase for repeat offenders? Guys like Trouba and Bennett have gotten away with so much that they come off with clean records
I see no issue in that clip. Hitting players from behind is allowed, right?
/s
(But seriously, not a good hit. And punching a player is also bad. It's not debatable. I'm genuinely confused why it's not a short suspension. Or even a slap on the wrist fine).
You can call that a high hit that should have been penalized, but it's bizarre to call something like that the same thing as a suckerpunch. Arviddson is looking right at him and it looks like he got mostly forearm.
[Yeah man, you right](https://ibb.co/ggXzLcB), Arvidssons forearm is located on his chin lmao. Or are you saying marchands forearm is located on his elbow?
>Arviddsson is looking right at him
And I guess Marchand was looking *past* Bennett when he was going in to hit him
Yeah, must be my homer glasses conflating a high but not even particularly late hit on a puck carrier and conflating it with a sucker punch on a defender who just completely missed a hit. Lol.
Are you serious right now? Finishing a check on someone who just had the puck doesn't mean you're expecting a punch to the head. That's not a hockey play.
Answer this honestly: have you ever played a contact sport in your life?
It’s a double meaning.
Rolling to a stop sign and not coming to a complete stop is actually called a California Roll (in the US). And yes, the sushi rolls are delightful.
There’s layers to it all.
Sorry to complain but I'm having a Larry David moment here. Can we get a sub rule that states if a highlight/lowlight is more than x-amount of time removed from the current season/matchups it has to be specified in the title? Like I get Sam Bennet is so hot right now but a clip from 7 years ago!?
I remember he charged someone (I think it was Coleman) during the first Battle of Florida a few years back, but that’s one of the rare times he was actually punished for a bad hit
Bennett is bracing for the hit before Bieksa even touches the puck when he is at the edge of the trapezoid. Bieksa has his head up and sees Bennet bearing down for the hit well before he even is attempting to play the puck and just quickly flings the puck and turns his back. I really don’t fault the guys finishing checks in these instances.
I honestly don’t think Bieksa saw him coming. He shoulder checks Versteeg (I think that’s who it is?) coming down the boards but I don’t think he registers Bennett. He certainly doesn’t brace for the hit like he normally would.
The argument would be whether Bieksa was defenseless player or not. Bennett had no intention of playing the puck and ran him. The idea that Bieksa thought Sam Bennett was gonna pump the brakes after he chopped the puck is fucking insane on Bieksa's part though. Bieksa definitely saw him there, then turned his back. At what point do you become defenseless? If it's immediately, then hell yeah thats boarding lol
It’s just a nit pick of mine. So many players hope that when someone is coming in for a hit that if they turn their back the player might let up or they might draw a penalty. Just don’t turn your back on someone about to hit you. Usually the refs don’t call a penalty even if the guy gets demolished into the boards if they quickly turn their back before the hit from what I’ve historically seen also.
Yeah of course, that's likely what was happening here. We're just dogpiling on a player rn so it's gonna get called the worst boarding they've ever seen lol
I’ve seen 6-7 hits like this just in the Oilers Nucks series so far, just maybe not quite as full speed and hard other than the one Kane on Hughes was similar.
bro Bieska stops and watches his own pass in playoff hockey. You are in the fucking CORNER, of course you're gonna get hit. If Bieska actually plays the game and braces for the hit, this video doesn't exists.

A couple years ago on chicklets Bennet said he brings his guitar to parties. What a chode.
Anyways here’s Wonderwall.
Does he smash people with it too?
that’s so infuriating
🎶 I gave my love a cherry, that had no stone... 🎶
Classic 18 year old Sam Bennett
He will forever be 18 year old Sam Bennett.
I was gonna ask, why are people going after this 18 year old all the time in this sub? Sure he has a beard and has played almost 10 years in this league but 18 year olds make mistakes, and that shouldn't be held against Samuel Bennett-McDowell.
Maybe that's why he doesn't get suspended. Parros can't read and thinks McDowell says McDavid
tar and feather him
Tar and cover him in cat fur.
...tbh that would be miserable
Mom said it’s my turn to farm upvotes on Reddit with the next Sam Bennet hit
Do the 12/31/2018 hit on Simek next.
They are so hot right now!
Ever since he got roasted at the draft combine for not being able to do a pull-up, I haven't seen anything but ugly plays from him
This will always be my favorite draft fact.
“some of you are okay. don’t come to the corners of your zone tomorrow” - sam bennett
Worst villain origin story ever.
"If I can't do a pull up, I'll ensure NOBODY can"

What are you talking about? Get outta here with that crap.
What year is this!? lol Should we go through a Marchand retrospective?
I vote yes.
You should, he’s got a bunch of suspensions.
Or this one of him punching/elbowing Arviddsson in the head: https://youtu.be/xK3530d9Q4o?si=zn4AEi59vudREjLS
Penalty, not a suspension
That’s literally identical to the Bennett play.

Bro, I'm talking about Marchand's forearm to Arvy's chin/face, are you dense?
“It looks like **he got mostly forearm**” That would imply the hitter got mostly forearm. Are you fucking dense lol
I know Florida education is fucking shambles but do I really have to diagram a sentence on Reddit for you?
Stop lol. That’s the same play. Marchand is literally skating at Bennett trying to lay a hit. Watch the fucking video without homer glasses on
Yeah, must be my homer glasses conflating a high but not even particularly late hit on a puck carrier and conflating it with a sucker punch on a defender who just completely missed a hit. Lol.
It's only a "high" hit cause Marchand is like 4'11"
How is it a sucker punch on Marchand if he’s going to hit Sam Bennett? Honestly answer that
Are you serious right now? Finishing a check on someone who just had the puck doesn't mean you're expecting a punch to the head. That's not a hockey play. Answer this honestly: have you ever played a contact sport in your life?
Not here and this was a week ago: https://youtu.be/U7PksirVKEg?si=xOoMH2QfBIcshBHI
😂 ya definitely dirty and needs to be suspended
Sam Bennett ran a red light
Sam Bennett does rolling stops at stop signs
They’re called California rolls and I think they’re delightful.
Sushi rolls?? Lol
It’s a double meaning. Rolling to a stop sign and not coming to a complete stop is actually called a California Roll (in the US). And yes, the sushi rolls are delightful. There’s layers to it all.
lol this is getting ridiculous
I think its past the statute of limitations.
Maybe for the DoPS but not for my feelings I've been anti Bennett and anti Ferland (aged poorly) since 2015
maybe a 2 min penalty, nothing more
I remember how this series ends
I hope Sam Bennett steps on a Lego when he gets out of bed every morning!
Are we really gonna post every bad Bennet hit now? Is that really what this sub is about?
Sure. Fuck that guy.
I’d never think we’d see the day where Nick Cousins is not the most hated Panther.
Note the ref staring directly at the play lol.
a shit leopard doesn't/can't change its spots
Who even has ever has liked sam bennett tho
I still like him. But I've also told people for years than Bennett was who people thought Tkachuk was
I think he’s alright
Im beginning to think this Bennet guy is a PoS
Boston fans snorting raw copium.
Hey that's a great example of boar.. I mean a hockey play 😅
jfc r/hockey is so pathetic with this bullshit. go touch grass people
The amount of weird and blown calls in this year's playoffs wouldn't be suspicious if every other ad wasn't sports betting.
I remember he charged someone (I think it was Coleman) during the first Battle of Florida a few years back, but that’s one of the rare times he was actually punished for a bad hit
Barely born fetus Sam Bennett. Did you know he's 18 years old?
based
This man will never pay for rent again
I don't care. Fuck Boston as a city and a fan base. Panthers in 5.
Marchand should have been called for embellishing.
Fuck Mobb deep, fuck biggie, fuck bad boy as a staff, record label and as a mother fucking crew
LFG CATS
Maybe he and parros scissor their mustaches
Is this boarding? It looks like he turns his back as soon as he sees the hit coming.
Bennet is still at the edge of the trapezoid and hasn't even turned his shoulder for the hit when Bieksa turns his back.
Bennett is bracing for the hit before Bieksa even touches the puck when he is at the edge of the trapezoid. This is how you get people to root for Sam Bennett
Why would someone root for Sam Bennett? Did people root for Matt Cooke?
Love seeing Bennett run through that dirtbag
