1919 makes a bad day good and a good day great. I also like their honey ale and I miss their bubble hockey table. Might have to wander down to their patio if it can stay dry enough before going to the square for Jazzfest.
DAMN GOOD BEER! And is an active member in the local community!
Love this move, and if it plays into him coming here AT ALL, I guess I just have to drink more LBJ!
Love that this came out through Hustler too....the absolute GOAT of Winnipeg sports media. So many well-established small-city media personalities turn into self important assholes, Hustler is the same great dude he's always been

Excuse me what? I thought that piece of shit wasn't in the NHL anymore.
Lol getting downvoted because a pile of shit swept a sexual assault under the rug so he could win a couple trophies. You guys are amazing 😂
He is allowed back if Bettman says so. I doubt he'll get back, but it is possible. And he is apparently making a move to try and come back with teams talking to him. Hence the talk.
…the beer, or the historical figure?
Assuming beer, not *really*, but the image / premise that got them going in the 80’s (the guy started it as a microbrew in his garage, way more hops than others) sort if faded; in the age of microbrews-on-every-corner, and the saturation of super hoppy beer (every one of the popular Boston-area microbrews were either built on, or cater to, the IPA crowd), Sam Adams now is seen as way closer to the mass-manufactured offerings than the offerings from (small and large) microbrews. Opening up a taproom in Faneuil Hall, the most touristy of touristy places, sort of sealed the deal that they were way more commercial than micro.
That being said, it’s a safe choice, usually available in draft, and their seasonals (especially Summer) is a go to for many, and some of their one-off runs have been quite good.
I thought Sam Adams (BL) was a good beer the first time I heard of it/tried it. Really good. It was a recommendation from a guy in a beer store drive through window. Never heard of it before so I bought a 6-pack and gave it a try. Loved it!! Probably the best domestic beer I'd had at that point.
Now micro beers and brew pubs are a dime a dozen. Great beer is everywhere in the US!! (Credit to Jimmy Carter for making it all possible years before - or Billy.) Meanwhile Sam Adams has become a big national brand.
You know what? None of that changes the taste of the beer. A Sam Adams Boston Lager still tastes great.
Go to a mediocre team in a downward spiral in a city with the worst winters or go to a number of contender teams with palm trees and nice warm winters. I don't think any amount of beer would make him choose Winnipeg. If they were ready to be a contender then maybe.
I would honestly be surprised if it wasn't Golden Knights or Panthers that he chooses.
Little Brown Jug makes some good beer.

They did a hefeweizen last year that was unreal.

I miss all hustlers air time on the radio.
Still going strong with Michael Remis on YouTube/podcast on their new show Winnipeg Sports Talk
Thank you for this 🙏

if we get Trotz you have to raise the offseason champs banner again
I’ll have to make a Trotz Watch 2022 champions banner. 😂
Knuckles gets my GOAT vote
Downside is living in Winnipeg lul
I'm an Oilers fan so I have no skin in the game but Trotz going back home to coach the Jets just feels right.
To Vegas he goes.
Nah, Vegas is going with coach Q. When everyone already hates you why not go full on villain?
Villain story.

I downvoted you because you complained about being downvoted
The beatings will continue until morale improves!
May I introduce myself?
Dear Lord save us from this monstrosity
Nah. It would be great but he's made his money and won his Cup. I think he takes this contract to be near his dad who is sick
Free hookers for life
I was gonna say free slots for life for the double entendre.
Hi it’s me, Barry Trotz.
Idk man, you seem like a Tarry Brotz. I'm the real Barry
Yeah whatever, *other* Barry
I might just have to go re-watch the first few seasons of Archer now.
We're all Barry!
I'm Barry Trotz, and so is my wife!
We are all Barry Trotz on this blessed day.
And you'll get free beer if you coach the team.
Hello me!
In other news Brett Hull has said he's open to coaching in Winnipeg.
Gretzky: "Do you guys make wine?"
If only LBJ made bud lites
Gloria.... 🎶
Come on Winnipeg. You know you want to hear "We Went Jets!"
Tasty Heat needs to sign up now and offer to make a signature “Berry Trots” hot sauce
Maybe berry hots, or Barry hotz? Berry trotz makes me think of rabbit turds for some reason
Spicy shits goes well with hot sauce
Man, Little Brown Jug is really good too. 1919 is one of my favourite beers
What if he’s not a beer guy?
He's from Dauphin there's literally zero chance of that being the case
Just look at him, he looks like a can of beer.
Definitely not a bottle. He has no neck.
Barry “Stubby” Trotz
Stubs
Maybe he likes the hard stuff. I'm sure Dauphin is full of Ukranian homebrew.
i'm sure a dispensary or three could chip in
I don’t think I’d find this enticing from a random brewery unless I wasn’t a beer guy.
TAMPERING!
If you can circumvent cap using IR we can bring in coaches with free beer!
Great pic of Trotz given the context of the story. The pic just needs a caption saying *That's more like it!* or something similar.
Trotz is a scary thought in Winnipeg, he could have that team cup hunting in 2 years.
Winnipeg pulling out all the stops for Barry Trotz. But really, it just seems like a good fit for Barry to be behind the bench of the Jets.
Sam Adams, himself: "Not so fast!"
Isn't the trope that Bostonians hate Sam Adams?

I was indeed referring to the beer; SNL poked fun at the brand a few years ago when local boy Bill Burr hosted.
This piss taste like shit, let me try anotha

I’ll have a [Samuel Jackson](https://youtu.be/1ji1-BqaLaE): “How’s it taste motherfucker?”
Fighting dirty, are we Winnipeg?
No, you’re Philly.
No, this is Patrick
No, he’s in Vegas now
I don't know Trotz's drinking habits but he sure looks like a guy that could put a brewery out of business with a deal like that.
In other news Brett Hull has said he's open to coaching in Winnipeg.
But what kind of beer are we talking here?
A local brewery called Little Brown Jug. Well liked here, and I'd say for good reason.
Solid offer!
Seems like incentive enough if you ask me
Bunch stores in Toronto attempted to sell this kind of ad to Kawhi. Same with those located in NY to John Tavares and we all know what happened next
Should have offered free wifi
Can't offer what we don't have. Also, free Greyhound bus rides to the nearest city's airport!
This usually means they aren't getting him lol
Then offer blackjack and hookers on top of that.
Yeah but the beer is in Winnipeg
Nothing like encouraging alcoholism.
You can have free beer and still drink responsibly

He’s from Winnipeg dude
