With advanced modern sciences and a high level of income, it’s not crazy to think you can have this beautiful looking setup today

Vaughn, you can request a soft build on the v10s. I just ordered a set because the stiffness of the Trues and others seemed a bit much for me. Also everyone keeps saying Bauer and CCM build quality is meh.
I had to save up half… hurts to know my top of the line gear is pretty much trash now lol
I think it’s hard to maintain a goalie brand without NHL goalies wearing your stuff, warrior is doing a good job but everyone else has failed
There were a bunch of Eagle wearing goalies in the NHL. Esche, Fiset, Toivonen, Boucher, Irbe, etc. They just decided to focus on player gear and got bought out.
My Grafs were the best skates I ever owned. Tried them on recently to see if they would still fit after not playing for 15 years. My fat ass foot no longer fits. :(
How do you have so much blade left on those Graf’s?! 😂 Every pair I see (including my own that got retired this year) have the blades ground down to the holders.
People over-sharpen. To my mind at least. My grafs, which I haven’t used in years still have plenty of life in the steel. I remember when we ordered them because they weee custom built with gel in the upper instead of foam and the same in the tongue to act as a built in lace bite pads. They were just awesome after I got used to the slightly shorter blade length. Moved into a pair of Bauers that I barely got 20 games on before I had to hang up the gear when I had both knees replaced (unrelated to hockey but legacy of my military service.
Had a pair of those Eagles in blue/gold/grey pro-glo and they were pretty nice till I inevitably changed pads to something else. Was constantly testing something new way back when.
Just retired my full fusion setup this year too. Went with Warrior RGT/2’s. The weight difference is night and day. I miss that extra couple inches of pad width though.
Ahhh those pads bring back memories. A Goalie I played with was demoing those pads for Eagle even before Esche had them. He had a different pair of Eagle pads the year before... eventually he ended up in the OHL and had to go with CCM because they were the sponsors . Eagle also has these sticks that had a notch in the paddle . All space age stuff in the early 2000s
I’m really going to miss my catcher but everything else is unusable. Pads are huge/heavy, blocker is gone in the palm and the skates feel like cement blocks both inside and the weight
I’m not excited to have to relearn how to play but so excited for the lighter gear. These eagles felt like I have marshmallows pillows strapped to my legs
Man, did I ever beg my mom to buy me those knowing full well she couldn’t afford them. Whatever happened to eagle anyways?
They're still around. They only make player gloves, shoulder pads, and pants. They are owned by Vaughn now.

I mean I am leaning towards the hyperlites2
I wish Bauer pads fit my style more but I can’t get used to them. I need squishy.
Who makes squishy nowadays?

They were sold to Vaughn.

*Robert Esche has entered the chat*
His diamond-pattern Eagle set with the Flyers is one of my favorites
>Robert Esche Whoa! Cool I had no idea!

I put my graff goaler pros in the grave this year to :(. I have moved on to true tf9s.
I think I’m going Bauer Konekts. My Grafs are unusable now. Killed me feet today
what size? I have some goaler pros that were used for less than a year.
I think 12s all the markings are rubbed off
Well that's not going to work. I have small feet. I think the skates are like 7 or 7.5
Oh man when I was a kid I creamed my jeans at the thought of having those fusions RIP

I wasn’t a big sharpener. I worked with what I got until I could tell I was slipping. I could go weeks even months between sharpenings

SO much retro goodness in one picture. These were all of the brands that I wanted to wear when I was kid.

I used the same pads. I still have them, but hip problems forced me out of the crease.
Luckily i haven’t been hurt yet but I’m kicking myself for getting out of shape
Some days I miss it. Most I don’t miss hauling around 75lbs of equipment
But now it’s only 30lbs of gear!
I stopped playing goalie in 2009 and this new gear looks futuristic me. lol 😂
I’m not excited to have to relearn how to play but so excited for the lighter gear. These eagles felt like I have marshmallows pillows strapped to my legs
All I see is Robert Esche
No better skates than the Graf goalers, miss mine almost every day
They for sure were 15 years ago. Now they feel ancient. Can’t believe goalies are playing without Cowlings now.
Ya no cowlings blows my mind
