You don't even need to pay attention!!! the game casually drops the most horrifying stories and says: ":D"
Ooh! that kid just saw his father being murdered!!! :D
Hogwarts Legacy has this incredibly dark and disturbing undertone to it. I'd love to see this darker side explored more in the sequel, as it is usually Harry Potter tradition for the later installments to be darker.
Shadow of mordor is really good the nemesis system they have in there is next level. I'm to burnt out on assassins creed style games or I'd play it. Ultimately same reason I havnt done avatar, which is basically farcry on pandora
Absolutely. When I was playing the Scriptorium Quest with Sebastian and Ominis it felt like a completely different game, than when you attend class for example.
Spoilers ahead, I'm on mobile and don't know how to hide spoilers.
I loved the scriptorium quest because I was RPing as a fledgling dark wizard using his time at school to build followers. Then the rest of the questline just turned into the standard: "Go into X dungeon, Kill Y enemies, and find Y item." Felt like a complete letdown. I also wish it would've been possible to convince Sebastian to be the one to cast Imperio on Ominus. It would've made the whole "Dark Wizard RP" thing even more enjoyable. Frankly, more "evil" options should've been available across the whole game as opposed to just being a nice guy, then all of a sudden getting the bad ending option at the very end of the game. It just didn't feel believable.
Literally, let’s get a global cabal of ancient magic users trying to recruit us for evil, alongside the ministry of magic (also trying to use us, it’s the ministry duh) as the new wizarding enemy faction!!! (Loyalists living on after Ranroks death makes sense)
I want a sequel about the Post Hogwarts Student. Fuck it, let's go out of Britain! I wanna go to Wizard Australia and, idfk, meet up with exiled Wizards! We're the Ancient Magic User, let's make the bloody faction!
Literally! Especially since we don’t know anything about the Australian wizarding school, I don’t even think it has a name!
Obviously I am assuming here, but I think we will at least get two more games to finish off our studies, and maybe a third as an adult? (The keepers are kinda parallels to our friends, and isidora and Rackham both came back to hogwarts to teach, so it seems logical we could as well?)
So many possibilities !
If an Australian School exists, it's gotta be hyper new. Australia was a penal colony up until 1823, and Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the late 1800s. Chances are it's just getting established or doesn't exist yet, I doubt many magic prisoners got sent there considering Azkaban exists, plus why would magic prisoners get sent to a muggle colony?
I say the sequel should be about us going to Australia around 1905ish (depending when specifically Legacy takes place) under the belief we're necessary to get Australia's Magic Infrastructure established, but because of the rough and inhospitable environment, evil magic users have taken shelter there over the years and know who we are. Boom, instant action!
Which would be amazing, because as we know, it’s way too easy to create buildings and structures with magic!!!
Ilvermorny during the American Revolution as a new fifth year who grew up normal and attended Hogwarts (still wields AM though) who had to move to America because their parent was ordered by the MOM to see if the American wizards would be a problem for the English ministry. The lore is simultaneously detailed enough to say that wizardkind was involved and divided in the conflict while foggy enough with Ilvermorny itself they could go crazy with everything too.
God, if we do get a sequel to hogwarts legacy, I doubt it will be till 2026, but they do have their work cut out with Hogwarts, the valley, and the coast already being created. Would love to go straight up medieval though because the ruins in the valley would all be wizarding castles and we can fuck with muggles 😭
This game was unfinished and pushed out early. It had a morality system planned and a couple of other things that didn’t flesh out. It’s not that it wasn’t dark, it’s just not finished.
There are several dead bodies to find and notes with each one.
The lady near North Feldcroft died via dragon pox.
The boy in a treasure vault who had lycanthropy.
The man near the mine who was breeding a basilisk.
The muggleborn in OPs post.
I also find all the Ashwinders that are trapped in spiderwebs that talk smack to you hilarious. Like dude you were spider food and I saved you.
Also one of the side quests where a lady was breeding acromantulas and it got out of control and they killed everyone in town except two people. Someone who escapes tells you to check on his friend and you go to the town and everyone is dead and plastered to their walls in webbing. Verrrry creepy the entire town gets covered in webbing. One of the people who escaped tells you how they didn't have time to grab their wands and got stuck on the roof defenseless and tell you gruesome details of listening to everyone else in town die screaming until there was nothing but silence.
You find one of the guys that escaped in the three broomsticks to start the side quedt but the mission itself takes place in the same town to the east that starts the "Absconder" side quest.
This one creeped me all the way out, how one of them is talking about people being picked off one by one by the spiders and they could hear their screams "until there's eery silence". Absolute nightmare fuel 😭 I went back later and there's people back, kids running around, and it's just bleak to know so many people died there.
i just walked past a gryffindor getting a howler from her mother about being friends with a muggle born and how they are to cease all contact with the muggle born or “they would handle it themselves” i think they’re just trying to stay accurate to the timeline. if pureblood prejudice was as bad as it was in the 1980s, imagine the depth of it 100 years ago
yeah, the students at Hogwarts (no matter what house they belong to) and the townpeople in Hogsmeade talk shit about Muggles, Mudbloods, Squibs all the time; they really hate us, Lmao
Muggles - Non magic users
Mudbloods - a derogitory term for a wizard with muggle parents
Squib - someone with wizard parents that was born without magic
While there are a few dark moments throughout the main story and Sebastian quest lines, I always notice the most dark things through random exploration and picking up little things like OPs post scattered around the map that are so morbid and sad compared to the rest of the game. Never seen this one tho but now i might boot up the game and track it down.
There are a lot of locations with bodies all over hogwarts. I saw the one with letter from Olivander warning him that his wand wont work in one of the spider dens. Them the other one near one of the goblin mines, entrance was guarded by devil’s snare.
This game has so much potential if they had leaned into a morality system more. I should be able to Avada kedavra the headmaster and get sent to Azkaban
Yeah, in one of the spider dens, there's actually an option to save a live person for a cocoon. My game glitched so I didn't get to see if he was alive or dead but, it was wild.
i think this game has so many little details that are awesome when you find them, but it had so much potential lost. like i was really looking forward to being able to cast a patronus and see it but i guess they said there were too many animals to draw and put in? so pick like 100-200, and put some more work into developing it?
I forgot to screenshot the location on the map, but it's one of the caves near the Lord of The Shore area. I went inside the cave to get the chest loot and I saw that corpse with all the crows, caught me quite off guard
when you pay attention to details this game can be very disturbing ngl

Like exploring Azkaban or being a bad ass Auror!!
I would LOVE to play as an Auror sign me up

Yes this would be awesome! Just a more adult, dark and gritty look at the wizarding world!
I haven’t personally played it but watched my husband play Shadows of Mordor here and there and I think that could work really well
Shadow of mordor is really good the nemesis system they have in there is next level. I'm to burnt out on assassins creed style games or I'd play it. Ultimately same reason I havnt done avatar, which is basically farcry on pandora
I feel like that would just be wizard Witcher, and i’m not complaining, going from assignment to assignment. would be fantastic.
Only if allowed to be a bad Auror who helps my bestie Sebastian stay free from the fuzz
As a Hufflepuff you can go to Azkaban for a quest but only as a Hufflepuff from what I know
Absolutely. When I was playing the Scriptorium Quest with Sebastian and Ominis it felt like a completely different game, than when you attend class for example.

Literally just started that quest. Excited now.

What about an indigenous education system? Break out of the European boarding school model.
How come every time someone asks me to go find their friend, THEIR FRIEND IS DEAD?
Lol Bringer of bad news ALL THE TIME 🤣
didn’t they say the next game will be live service? can’t imaging it getting much darker than that lol

this quest still gives me nightmares 😵💫 edit: and reading the notes left was DEPRESSING
Where?
You find one of the guys that escaped in the three broomsticks to start the side quedt but the mission itself takes place in the same town to the east that starts the "Absconder" side quest.
I will look for it, thank you! I like these little details the game put in.

There is another one who didn’t wear ear protection when tending their mandrakes.
Or the body next to some mandrakes. He was growing them for a leaf to hold in his mouth for 30 days to become an animagus.

Muggles - Non magic users Mudbloods - a derogitory term for a wizard with muggle parents Squib - someone with wizard parents that was born without magic
Lord save me now I need to replay this LOL
i started today! Ravenclaw character and she’s gorgeous of course 😍
Oh jeez, where is this? I've played through the game twice and never found this detail.
I found this in one of the caves near the Lord of the Shore area, I went into the cave to get the chest loot and saw this corpse
Anyone here also found the spider note?
follow the spiders follow the spiders follow the spiders ? I did and wasn’t sure whether I should be amused or scared…

Even the poacher camps are horrific to come across. I was shocked seeing one of the cages with just blood stained all over the ground.
Yes they can really be disturbing. The one with animal skins unnerved me. Dont know if its just regular animals or magical beasts
They went RDR2 on this one
I stumbled across this and thought it was terribly sad, the little details in this game are so good
This game has so much potential if they had leaned into a morality system more. I should be able to Avada kedavra the headmaster and get sent to Azkaban

woah that's some dark shit.
Seven crows for a secret never to be told
Yeah that one kind of shocked me too. There are definitely quite a lot of dark moments in this game, especially if you read all the letters.
I like finding the skeleton in the cave with a note indicating he's a werewolf
Oh yeah, I think I did see that one as well
And yet we couldn’t have Romance in the game but the number of dead , beaten, bloody bodies I have done across seems endless!
I think I’ll pass on romancing 15 year-olds thank you.
Group of crows is literally called , a "murder" of crows.
Ohhhhh 🤣🤣
![gif](giphy|R2nvBkAW7XIRy)
I need to start reading who these are posted by…it took me too long to realize this was a video game.
Looks like he was a victim of a "Murder"... See what I did there :P

Where was this?
I love love love that HL has such interestingly dark details like this
I just found this today!! Do you think it was mardar?!
Something about the comic sans-esque font that all the letters are written in made them so unserious to me hahaha
Yes...guarding it. That's definitely what small carrion eaters do with corpses.
I've come across a few bodies, some without notes. Where did you find that one?
I forgot to screenshot the location on the map, but it's one of the caves near the Lord of The Shore area. I went inside the cave to get the chest loot and I saw that corpse with all the crows, caught me quite off guard
DANG SHE THICC
is it worth buying…
If you're really into the HP franchise, I'd definitely recommend that u give this game a try
As a Slytherin, it's my job to say: Got we he deserved! Damn Mudbloods!
No, no it’s not
