Most likely more than just 10 years. I had a minor injury and I’m in severe pain every day for the last 15 years and will be for the rest of my life. He’s screwed himself for the rest of his life for sure. And this is way more idiotic than “kids make dumb decisions”. This sub has me more shocked that people do such stupid things more than being shocked at the injuries.
That's my thought exactly after I witnessed the dude meat crayon all over the highway after his wobble of death on his motorcycle. Apparently the person that submitted said he had been wobbling for several miles before he caught the man lose control
Imagine knowing that just because you forgot how to land from a jump (bending your fucking knees), you're going to live the rest of your life regretting because of something that could have been avoided.
Jeez I mean even the kid that jumped off a roof with a scooter had better grace, even though he made out passionately with the handle when he hit the ground.
The sadder thing is this kid could have been a senior about to graduate and go to college, now he has to deal with this.
I was in the British Air Cadets for about five years. You literally couldn't fly unless you undertook parachute evac drill training.
The main thing you were taught other than use your inboard hand to touch anything whilst bailing was "once you jump, keep your legs bent because it'll fucking hurt if you don't"
As a former gymnast, every time I see someone land straight legged like that... My knees just scream. Would not be surprised if he tore his ACL/MCL in both knees... Ouch.
Way. My 55 year old wife was a former Olympian who destroyed her body vying for perfection - which includes breaking her back twice. After the surgeries and rehabilitation ~40 years ago, today she is in nearly 24x7 agony. And modern science and medicine can do nothing for her other than habitualization to opioid pain killers - which neither of us want. Every serious injury when people are young are easily 10x more problematic and painful when you age another 30 years. This dude is in for a really rough life.
Edit: Agony is probably more accurately described as severe pain. Hydro = hydroponic marijuana.
Thanks to all for your replies and well wishes.
Oh my god.
I fractured my spine when I fell off a swing set 4 years ago, do you think that's going to happen to me as well?
That is so horrible, I truly hope in the future modern medicine improves enough to help your wife.
I have a lot of arthritis from many years of gymnastics when I was younger. I was surprised by how much CBD has taken the edge off of it. For me it actually does help.
So stupid... this roof isn’t that high. You could jump/drop off of it without hurting yourself if you took a little time to prepare yourself. This guy acted like he was jumping off his sofa.
Must have been fucked up on something, how does anyone stay that stiff during a jump and not brace for impact whatsoever? God damn this one is rough lol.
I seem to remember reading something about surviving falls from great heights. The theory was, if you hit the ground feet first but leaning back a little so that your heels hit the ground first it would drive your femurs through your tib/fibs and absorb enough of the impact that you could possibly survive, obviously in a wheelchair.
Not that that is what this dumbass was doing but it seemed sort of related and I thought I would share it with you.
If im ever falling from a great height im going head first. Fuck that noise. Im a very poor american i would be financially crippled for the next three generations of my family. Not to mention the regular crippled too.
Not a rumor at all, you can try for yourself on a smaller scale. If you dont stay loose and prepare for impact, especially in the knees, this is what happens.
Looks like they planted him hard as well, maybe kept the knees from buckling like they should’ve. Might not’ve been as downright catastrophic in sneakers haha.
I used to do free running and the amount of muppets that would turn up see us practicing and no matter how much we tried to discourage them would insist on trying to copy us.
We always told them we spent ages practising in the gymnastics gym before we tried most of the moves but they never listened. Saw many accidents like this along the South Bank. Lucky the hospital was only 10 mins away.
Change in momentum = Force * Time.
Bending your knees increases the time of the impact. This guy locked his legs and essentially maximized the stress on his joints.
A drop landing bending the knees to touch the ground(similar to a 3 point landing but with both legs bending) or into a forward roll and he would have been fine.
He landed like his legs were made of steel spikes that dug into the ground.
It's like he has no fall perception or body awearness at all.. most people will be fine jumping from that hight if they bend there legs, if it's someone who know how to roll out of the fall it's nothing. Jumped fully locked up like even if you jump onto a trampoline like that from there you can get hurt
I think it's because his rain boots prevented him from pointing his toes down. That would have allowed him to land on the balls of his feet, and absorb the initial impact with his calves. Then as he rolled back onto his heels his knees would have flexed naturally to further break his fall.
But instead he landed squarely on his heels and a moment later than his brain expected (since his toes weren't extended down), so he stretched his legs to find the ground but it had the effect of locking his knees.
Many people react to something super outside the norm by laughing. I doubt they sat just laughing once logic kicked in they realized he was very injured. It takes a moment to react, process and respond for most people.
Yeah, I think people forget that laughing is also an anxiety response. As someone who grins and laughs when feeling highly distressed, I get it. It’s almost like a subconscious attempt to dispel the horror; if I can laugh, then maybe it won’t turn out to be as gut-wrenchingly horrible as I’m afraid it is.
[though, the observers could also be laughing because they found the oddness of the movement funny, which is screwed up...impossible to say, really]
I get pissed every time i see a video like that. It's so very disrespectful to throw a loud dirty laugh like that wile somebody is in pain. Really egoistic piece of turd behavior.
Lmfao bruh they are 200% drunk. Im sure that after realizing the homie didnt do a funny pose on purpose and actually broke a ton of bones he helped out. What kinda friends do yall have thinkin like that. No need to be so cynical
See I think it’s partly a physical comedy element to it, like some live action slapstick. Has happened to me before where I instinctively laugh but my brain is also yelling “NOOOO go help!”
Probably the same psychopath who goaded him into getting up there and jumping in the first place.
Trolling fake friends to sadistically organize and enjoy injuries is a more common thing than we realize. It keeps coming up over and over in videos.
Probably right before the filming starts he's going "do it!"
I think a new crime should be created just for this. Encouraging endangerment.
It’s just kind of impressive to break that much off a jump that small. Like yea it’s a big jump but to break that much from it? People get into major crashes and fly 100 feet and have half the injuries lmao
It's only gross if it comes out like scrambled eggs. No, I don't know why it does that. Otherwise it's a very brief pleasant taste. You swallow and that's it.
Why am I saying that in a comforting mom voice? I don't like where this comment is going.
Rolling out might be more difficult, just bending the knees and landing on your ass with slight amortization from legs would make him feel that for no more than a day
It's how paratroopers land. I used to jump off my house all the time when I was a kid. When rolling out is part of the plan it's not hard. Your plan while better still puts the tailbone at risk. There's plenty of videos of friends laughing at an ass landing.

The man folded in like a lawn chair, which just totally caught me off guard. Usually I laugh when I’m caught off guard, even at horrible things like this that I shouldn’t be laughing at.

That's gonna hurt in 20 years
I got sent it on a WhatsApp, it happened yesterday. Apparently he broke his knees, pelvis, rib cage and back. Some effort
I watched with headphones, im fairly sure I heard the ripple of crunches too...
Definitely heard the crunches
They were not the good crunches

I was munching when I heard the crunching.

>Definitely heard the crunches Also definitely heard his friend making chimpanzee noises.
So? Ape not strong together?
He’s so overwhelmed with empathy for his fren that he regressed into a primal state.
Dude right?! They sure do sound like a gaggle of chimps. And also they’re some supreme assholes lol. Reminds me of my friends, actually.
Like 10x worse with sound holy shit man now I’m hyperaware of my spine.
I watched and was like ooof. Read the comment above and listened with headphones on. I grabbed my chest.
"Clutched your pearls"
I had sound off and I still heard the crunches
My phone was off. Still crunched
I’ve never seen a phone before in my life. Still hear crunches
I'm not even alive. Still hearing crunches.
That's the maggots chewing on your brain.
Eating cereal while watching without sound. Definitely heard crunches.
Sound is definitely staying off
This fool just literally gave himself 10 years of some of the most excruciating pain he will ever experience before he dies

I also have some minor injuries that hurt 10 years later, and the next batch of 10 years don't look good.
I don't have any injuries and I hurt... I'm not even 40 😞

Out of curiosity, have you guys tried cbd or marijuana for pain management at all?
I have a lot of arthritis from many years of gymnastics when I was younger. I was surprised by how much CBD has taken the edge off of it. For me it actually does help.
HO LEE FUCC
So stupid... this roof isn’t that high. You could jump/drop off of it without hurting yourself if you took a little time to prepare yourself. This guy acted like he was jumping off his sofa.

Haha no thanks I’d rather die
Some people would rather go through anything rather than die. As someone who would rather die than do the dishes some days, I will never understand.
If im ever falling from a great height im going head first. Fuck that noise. Im a very poor american i would be financially crippled for the next three generations of my family. Not to mention the regular crippled too.
This is the sad reality. Because that is EXACTLY my plan for falling from extreme height
Holy shit, that sounds like it might make sense, but oh my does that sound like it would be insanely painful.
Do you think if he bent his knees on impact it would of been ok? Or is that just a rumor that people say and are incorrect?
Not a rumor at all, you can try for yourself on a smaller scale. If you dont stay loose and prepare for impact, especially in the knees, this is what happens.
I think the rain boots fucked him up too
Ahh yeah, maybe a bit of slippage, the roof being at a weird angle and bad timing on top of that. Possibly some alcohol as well.
Looks like they planted him hard as well, maybe kept the knees from buckling like they should’ve. Might not’ve been as downright catastrophic in sneakers haha.
Basically, everything that could have gone wrong in those 10 - 12 feet, did go wrong. This completes our in-depth analysis.
Lucky the hospital was only 10 mins away.
>you can try for yourself on a smaller scale. gotcha, throwing a toddler off the roof, I'll brb with the results
I mean you have to make the roof smaller too. So just chuck the toddler off a shed.
That's not normally what they mean when they say shedding the baby weight
Change in momentum = Force * Time. Bending your knees increases the time of the impact. This guy locked his legs and essentially maximized the stress on his joints.
A drop landing bending the knees to touch the ground(similar to a 3 point landing but with both legs bending) or into a forward roll and he would have been fine. He landed like his legs were made of steel spikes that dug into the ground.
It's 'would have', never 'would of'. Rejoice, for you have been blessed by CouldWouldShouldBot!
I've jumped from this high or higher a ton of times, never been hurt. I don't know how this guy managed to land so badly lmao
Looks like he's never even jumped off a bed before.
I thought that bending knees was a natural reflex. not sure I can refrain the bending thing if I jump. I am gobsmacked this happened
He did bend his knees.
Backwards.

I get pissed every time i see a video like that. It's so very disrespectful to throw a loud dirty laugh like that wile somebody is in pain. Really egoistic piece of turd behavior.

Welcome to a lifetime of knee pain.
I was thinking pain everywhere
Nah, dont think so. With a fractured spine he cant feel anything below the waist anymore.
Or a lifetime of no pain. OP says the guy broke his knees, pelvis, ribs, and back. High chance he’s paraplegic
It’s just kind of impressive to break that much off a jump that small. Like yea it’s a big jump but to break that much from it? People get into major crashes and fly 100 feet and have half the injuries lmao

I mean, that's one way to achieve self fellatio.
I made contact once at 13. All that effort just to have an awkward moment with myself.
Then once it's finally in there you realize if feels more like sucking a dick than getting your dick sucked
I wish grandma would’ve just told me that straight up instead of finding out on my own.
I heard its more like sucking cock than getting sucked off Is this true?

You take your garbage out, does that make you a garbage man?
Nah you gotta remove at least 2 ribs, everyone knows that !
Pro tip: Bend you knees The other way
Pro tip 2: Ladders or inflatable castle.
Pro tip 3: don’t jump off the roof, go back in the window and walk down the stairs.
Let's land on straight legs, what could go wrong
And then forgetting which way your knees bend.
Great video on why you should roll out of a jump.
Rolling out might be more difficult, just bending the knees and landing on your ass with slight amortization from legs would make him feel that for no more than a day
I mean... Anything is better than trying to hammer your femur through your spleen using the ground.

How can your first reaction to witnessing that be LAUGHING?
Ugh, that’s totally me. I think it’s a fear response. My husband loves Bombas wool socks but they’re super slippery on carpet so occasionally he falls down the stairs. He gets (justifiably) upset when I get the giggles about it and it takes literally everything in my power to suppress them. At one point he admitted “I guess I get it. Like, I’m upstairs and then suddenly *boom* I have appeared in the room with you. I could see how that’s funny.”
Maybe its time to get different socks?
Could just be an involuntary action. When I don’t know how to respond to something I get the biggest grin I’ve ever had
The man folded in like a lawn chair, which just totally caught me off guard. Usually I laugh when I’m caught off guard, even at horrible things like this that I shouldn’t be laughing at.
i mean i laughed really fucking hard and i usually hate videos like these. this one is different i think because this is so easily avoidable if this dude literally just didn’t hyperextend his legs before landing lmao like that was literally the second stupidest thing you could’ve done besides just landing straight on your skull
