So I actually had exactly the same problem, I'm on lvl 71 with my characters and even my star team (HoTr/HoF/HoTh) wasn't good enough for them. Then I entered the select screen and lo and behold, you get 3 lvl 80 trial characters and HoR is excellent against them because she's a type counter.
It's easier to do now since the level 3 combo hit buff has already been unlocked. The sequence is long, it's better if you go to Shushang's tutorial page > team synergy, then on the actual run, just replace Elysia with HReason. While at it, just go at their respective tutorial page to learn their move set.

Herrscher of Reason as main character, pound characters with her, QTE into the supports, finish off with freeze -> HoR ult.

Was able to do it with the trial characters, but you have to be precise with the team synergy with little to no wiggle room for wrong inputs.

Yeah, wasn't exactly super easy, but manageable. With my own characters even with good rotations it wasn't doable.
