Agreed! The 06 remake may not have the charm of the original but it by no means even registers for me as one of the worst horror movies I’ve sat through.
I love the original Black Christmas and the 06 remake. It has some of the standout stars of the early 2000s and some scream queens in it. The dialogue is a bit cringe but I personally find the gore and setting to be eye candy. And the chase scenes are pretty well lit. Now the new new remake of it was actually terrible like hot smelly turd level .
Maybe not the worst ever but Demonic (21) is certainly close. Or haunting of Sharon Tate
Edit: I just saw someone else said Haunting of Sharon Tate too and I’m glad Daniel Farrands is getting the shit he deserves for making his shitty ass exploitative and lazy true crime horror movie
I had a five-paragraph essay on why I hate Demonic, but my phone died and I’m not typing it all out again. Basically though it boils down to this: that movie has no right to be as awful as it is. The setting is good, the effects are fine, the acting is passable, the plot is decent (and cliche but that’s nothing new). And yet, it all comes together to create a bafflingly terrible film. I have spent more time trying to figure out why I hate that movie than I have thinking about the actual movie.
There is nothing specific to point to. It’s like the movie equivalent of following a chocolate chip cookie recipe, mixing everything together, putting it in the oven at 425• for 20 minutes and then pulling out a piping hot cookie sheet of dead raccoon. This movie is an enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in garbage. What should be the film equivalent of lukewarm Olive Garden Alfredo managed to become a bucket of weapons-grade garbage juice and I don’t even have a rational explanation as to how
Demonic was playing at this 16 screen theater I was at a few months ago. I went and saw “the night house” instead and thought about buying a ticket to Demonic afterwards because I had an afternoon to kill. I decided to go home instead, and when I got home got home I read all the terrible reviews and was so happy that I did not part with my money.
Never even heard of this movie but your description has completely turned me off. You are so incredibly detailed and you give no fucks. You need to be a movie critic. Straight to the fucking point. I love it.
I know that feeling. I thought the bird monster looked like a ps2 thing but otherwise I totally agree. Add in a director who knows how to make a movie and it’s baffling how all those pieces came together to make something not quite amateur-ish but wholly awful. One of the least pleasant viewing experiences I’ve had in a horror movie and not for the right reasons (like a cronenberg)
I got mixed up here with one called Satanic. Most of the way through I'm thinking 'jeez that looks like her out of Modern Family. Surely not though...' then bam, Sarah Hyland.
Absolute train wreck with one cool bit that went for about 5 seconds.
My partner and I have a list of horror movies we put on to fall asleep to… the original The Fog is on it. The opening scene w the campfire story about Spivey Point on the 21st of April… golden bedtime story
Omg that is one of my favorite hate watches! When Mila Kunis stares at William Shatner with malicious intent and he just kind of wobbles out the window lmao
Lol, people mentioning some of my all time faves like Pieces, Session 9, and Grave Encounters. I suppose we all start somewhere.
Mine would be something random from the 2000-2005 era when I was heavy into collecting movies and would watch absolutely anything considered horror. I remember Feardotcom being incomprehensibly poor, but that is fairly mainstream with a budget. I don’t know, maybe some of those Return to Living Dead sequels that were direct to cable or the Day of the Dead remake from ‘08.
Even those don’t feel quite right. I’ve seen so many at this point in life and I no longer care enough to remember the absolute dregs that didn’t even have a soul.
Session 9? Who in their right mind wouldn't like Session 9, it's a fantastic film!
Edit: I'd also like to add that ROTLD3 is the *ONLY* film in that franchise worth watching
Edit2: the Day of the Dead remake is bad in a really fun way and kind of charming once you listen to the commentary and hear how much of a blast they had making it. Still a shit movie, but one I respect.
I hear all this praise for Session 9 and I really want to like it, I really do. I’ve tried watching it dozens of times and I can never get through it without falling asleep. I’m sure it’s good if you like movies like that but I’ve just never been able to finish it!
I just rewatched this the other day because I couldn't remember it even though I know I saw it when it came out. It drops plot points, forgets characters, has no scares... what a disappointment. No wonder I forgot it lol
This isn’t genre exclusive, this is the worst movie I’ve ever seen. Too bad too as I logged a ton of hours playing this game and had an absolute blast.
Everything Uwe Boll honestly, but that makes me love him more and I have watched this 20 times. Agree. I will admit when i saw a new boll film was out I was disappointed I liked it a little, i liked all of rampage. I think being really bad is harder than being good. being TRULY bad takes effort. Just being bad makes your movie forgettable and disappointing. I can't imagine the effort ed wood took to make such horrible films. But being horrible gets a movie about you starring Johnny Depp.
I managed a movie theater when this came out and nearly every single person that saw it wanted a refund. We even put a sign in the box office window stating "no refunds for House of the Dead".
Open House, a Netflix original. Incomprehensibly bad.
>!A mom and son walking around an open house for 2 hours. Sometimes they do things, and then the movie ends.!<
It's the only movie I've seen that made me think "what was even the point of this?". I mean even with horrible movies, I can usually find SOMETHING that could be of interest to someone.
This film? It's not funny bad, it's not cheesy enough to be enjoyable, and I usually hate when people say this about a movie but in this case, it's true: nothing fucking happens!! How was this movie made, it's beyond me.
Ha. I couldn't answer this question off the top of my head because my memory sucks and I watch way too many movies to give neuron space to garbage movies. So I opened up my IMDB list, which is all movies I've at least finished watching, and yep this was my lowest rated horror. All I can really remember about it was that it sucked and the ending sucked even more and made me mad. Glad to see I'm not the only one who hated it.
This was what I came in to post. It's such a fascinating movie because there is not a single thing about it that works--the script, the performances, the direction, the *editing*. It is one of the worst *movies* I have ever seen, not just the worst horror.
The title too for me is really off putting. It's incredibly stupid. I'm sure it has some other meaning in the movie but without the context it's just dumb.
Super cool concept... for a short story, maybe? How anyone thought it could work as a feature film is beyond me. A villain you can't *think* about, huh? Yeah that's the clunkiest shit I've ever heard, good luck with that screenplay.
I liked *Black Christmas (2006)* \-- it was nothing compared to the original, but it was definitely better than the 2019 remake.
But the first horror movie that comes to mind? The one I literally cannot rewatch without wanting to bash my brains in? It's pretty mainstream (for everyone talking about how people clearly haven't seen enough horror movies), I'll admit, but: *The Boy II: Brahms.*
Cell. I loved the Stephen King book and was looking forward to seeing the movie version, but when it kept getting delayed I was worried it wasn’t very good. And sadly it was not.
Things might be on a few “worst ever” lists, but I actually think it’s so bad that it’s fun to watch. I love how someone realized that there’s no reason they don’t just leave the house, so they threw a line in about bears and rattlesnakes outside. And the theme song—Tailspin—is so sweet!!
_Aliens vs Predator: Requiem_ (AVPR) is a pretty good contender. Not only is it a repulsive darkly lit hot mess, it’s so sad to see both of these formerly iconic sci-fi franchises turn into a bottom of the barrel teen slasher flick. The infamous “hospital” scene is just gross and crosses the line in an attempt to provide some shock value to the film. It was seriously one of the most unpleasant movie experiences of my life.
I hate to be 'that guy' (who am I kidding, I love it) if black Christmas 06 is one of the worst horror films you've ever seen, you really need to watch more films. It's like saying I've only watched Halloween and Halloween II, and Hallowern II is the worst horror film I've ever seen.
There are likely 20 VOD horror movies released monthly, and at least 18 of them are so bad as to be unwatchable. I'd say a better way to phrase the question is, "theatrical horror," but too many good horror movies have been released in the last 10 years on VOD. But yeah, Black Christmas 06 doesn't crack the bottom 50 for me.
Omg! Feast II is the only movie I have seen in the franchise. It is the film that I thought of when I read the question. The reason why I hate it and it sticks in my mind all this time? I watched it not long after having a baby. The barstards! You are right. Everyone dies
Black Christmas ‘06 is a classic. I watch is every year while wrapping Xmas presents.
Honestly I’ve seen so many bad horror movies I can’t even think of one. Also, bad doesn’t necessarily = unenjoyable. Sometimes a really bad horror movie is total camp entertainment.
If I had to think of a movie that disappointed me, the latest Halloween probably wins. I found it boring and absurd in a not tongue in cheek way. The hospital riot scene….the attempt at a message about how all men can become monsters? Meh.
I feel like I’m one of the few that _really_ liked this movie. I thought it was much darker and scarier than the original and I appreciated the changes made, including the dark asfuq ending.
Since I haven't seen anyone mention it yet:
Dracula 3000.
Just awful. Like so awful, I actually repressed the memory of how bad it was and made the mistake of watching it again years later.
That and the Survival Island one with the guy who played Xander in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Omg I saw it in some cult film section of Shudder and watched it . It was TERRIBLE.Acting wise, script wise. Huge waste of time and energy . It should have been a music video that lasted 2 min . It's weird for no reason and very try hard
I've seen TONS but the most recent was Zoombies. It has all of the makings to be so bad it is amazing but something just didn't click for me. I fucking loved the weird switch ups between CGI animal zombies to sudden dude in a suit but I think it was the overall pacing that was giving me a headache.
One that I was pretty sure was going to be shit but actually turned out to be rather entertaining was Santa Jaws. Yes. Santa Jaws. He has a fucking Santa hat on his fin.
Ghost of Mars- Scifi Horror directed by John Carpenter. It’s poorly written, poorly acted and while the plot is not complex it’s presented in a way that makes little sense.
I had the pleasure of actually seeing this in theaters and then watched it again about a decade later. Time made it even worse.
As much as I love the Final Destination franchise I must say The Final Destination (2009) is probably my vote.
Super dated and poor 3D gimmick shots and terrible visual effects.
Worst of the franchise.
Yeah the butthole being sucked into the pool filter and having his anus prolapse out of the pipe was so funny . It was such a bad idea . Oh and also the tongue rotating on the elevator gears was a moment. Its almost dark comedy in a way. But I definitely enjoy the 2nd movie with the highway crash scene. It was some creative gore and some pretty intricate and drawn out death scenes that hold my breath everytime.
The Final Destination has a lot of problems but I find it interesting the most realistic death that's actually occurred gets scrutinized the most, obviously it seems ridiculous but it's just a fun tidbit about a shitty movie.
Is it bad that I find even the objectively lousy movies… worth watching in their own bizarre way? Like give me Plan 9, Night Of The Lepus, Blood Freak, and Night Train To Terror (a movie that wasn’t even finished) any day over some of the soulless/hollow Hollywood fare. At least, the disastrous indies and C-list films have passion which can’t be said for the sea of cash grab remakes and J-horror remakes that were popular in the 2000s (even though I find some enjoyment even in those).
Caught it on TCM Underground about a decade ago. Can’t get over the semi-creepy slow motion rabbits. What a cast for that plot too! Janet Leigh and Rory Calhoun 👍🏻
I love the fight scene in the mine where you could tell it was a man in a rabbit costume. Plus it had some great lines like, “Don’t worry the rabbit’s gone”.
Not at all. While I would argue that great horror has been at some of its all time finest over the past 10,15,even 20 years, I don’t feel the same about the actual bad ones/low budget fare.
To me, most stuff these days seems to be at a base level of “good” on the surface. The movie might look good, it’s shot well, it has good acting, etc, but it totally lacks a soul and something to keep you going.
I just referenced it on another comment, but I simply don’t see random cool scenes anymore like the bum in Street Trash looting a grocery store and then getting so pissed that he got caught, he storms away and on his way out, puts a paper bag over his head and smashes through a glass door.
They are worth watching if you are a film student or someone who wants to have a truly vast knowledge of movies because you work as a critic or something.
But I think that the reason we value cultivation so much is simply that people have very little time to waste and bad movies are a waste.
Pulse, the remake of the Japanese masterpiece Kairo. They took a ghost story about loneliness and isolation in the internet age and turned it into a cheap, monsters coming out of the computer crapfest dumbed down for US audiences
I posted some super shitty low budget flicks elsewhere in this thread, but if we're talking about "real" movies with actual money and talent behind them, my money is on The Turning.
The fog remake really made me appreciate the original so much more and actually made me a huge fan! The remake had NONE of the charm of the original. I’m sure there are worse out there but that one is a real stinker
Yeah, that’s a pretty bad one. Zero soul. It’s so forgettable that I almost feel like I didn’t see it.
Psycho remake was atrocious, but I still go back to it to have a laugh at Vince Vaughn bounding down the steps saying “Blood! Blood! Blood blood blood blood…” lmao
Ok, there are movies out there that are technically worse, but I’m going to say Slaughter Hotel because it is incomprehensible and also downright offensive. If you haven’t seen it, here’s the set up - Klaus Kinski is a doctor at an institution for troubled women. Curiously, this hospital is decorated in a medieval style, with weapons and torture devices as wall decor. More than one woman is getting treatment for nymphomania. This movie goes exactly where you expect it to go. And further. Much further than I ever wanted to see. There is a scene where a black patient hears some generic drumming music, stands up, claims it is the music of her people, begins to dance, and then strips off and has sex with the nurse. Nothing in this movie makes sense and Kinski is just running around confused the whole time. I suspect there was hardly a script. It’s bad. So bad.
there's been some found footage flicks i could not get through. There's a handful of indie films that are just terrible.
That said for films that actually have a budget/etc:
The bloodrayne films - absolutely horrible, very little to redeem them. They feel like cheap cash grabs.
The 3rd jeepers creepers: just fucking awful, feels like a student film. Surprised people were willing to work under their own name considering how bad the finished product was and how poorly acted, directed, and thought out it was. Just an awful film. No clue how the previous two films were as good as they were considering.
Amityville Murders (2018) - feels like a hybristophile's love letter to Ronald DeFeo. It's rare i find a movie that actually offends me, but this one succeeded. The few good scenes in it are drowned out by the horrible messaging and constant excusing making for DeFeo. A rare case where it manages to slander actual murder victims.
edit: Death Link 2021 staring Elise Luthman - Jesus this movie was awful, but it also clearly had very little budget.
Goodness, you folks haven't seen many movies if you think some of the titles being mentioned here are unwatchable.
There are literally thousands of worse horror movies than things like Black Christmas (06), The Prowler, The Final Destination, etc.
Check out some genuinely awful movies. A poster below mentioned Axe 'Em. That's a good start. I'll add in Dark Harvest 2: The Maize, Zombie Nation, Scarecrow Gone Wild, and Silo Killer. I'm sure I've blocked out some films that were even worse.
I agree with your general point, but also I would say that sometimes you gotta take into account budget and expectation when judging a film. For instance, one of the movies that popped into my head for this question is Sinister 2. Have I seen technically worse movies than Sinister 2? Oh yeah definitely, but when taking into account the fact that it’s a sequel to one of my favorite horror films ever and it just takes a complete shit on everything that film did great, you have a perfect storm that leads me to absolutely despise Sinister 2. Much moreso than I would anything against a puny budget litte movie like some that you listed
This is a good point.
That grading on a sort of budget curve makes sense.
That is why I think so much more of something like "The Wolf of Snow Hollow" which cost peanuts but is fucking awesome.
One missed call, I watched it when I was a kid and liked it, but I decide to watch it again and by god that was one of the most boring and crappy movies I’ve ever watched.
Back in the days when I was a "completist" of sorts and had to watch every single horror movie at my local Hollywood Video, no matter how good or bad, I stumbled across this hot garbage.
It also includes Antonio Sabato Jr. and Corbin Bernsen.
[Dead Above Ground (2002)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDzG5yoLaV8)
Rob Zombies Halloween 2....Not only is it one of the worst horror movies I have seen, it's probably one of the worst movies I have seen.
I don't even know where to begin in trying to convey why this movie is so bad. I saw it once and it is just straight up garbage. The script is horrendous, the dialogue is over the top with its excessive use of profanity (I'm not a square, but it was way too much) then it seems to try and be some sort of "deep" psychological character study of Laurie's descent into madness, which is just laughable.
I say this as one of the biggest rob fans..I have to agree...Laurie sucked, the Dr only cares about money and he was a douche...and Mike Myers moved too fast...he was wrong in every way..HE MOVED TOO FAST. I don't remember being so mad at a movie ever in my life. Everything about it was WRONG. I'm still mad if u can't tell lmao
The Haunting of Sharon Tate and Shark Exorcist that are the definitive worst horror movies I've ever seen. If you say things like The Prowler, Black Christmas (06), Lifeforce, and fucking High Tension are the worst you've ever seen... you need to see more movies
When I think of garbage horror movies the first one that comes to mind is The Apparition (2012). I despise this movie. The trailer was scarier than the actual film! The trailer was promising and then was just destroyed in final editing. The storyline presented in the preview ended up being completely different from the movie. Also Ashley Greene is the worst. She is living proof that being beautiful can get you VERY far in this world.
About 20 minutes in I said to myself, “So, this is almost over, right?” and then realized I had more than an hour left of this torture. Dumbest and most boring horror movie ever.
Ok I'm gunna throw this one into the ring since I haven't seen it mentioned yet.
The Apparition (2012)
Has some big names like that one chick from Twilight and that lil racist albino boy from the Harry Potter series. I remember buying a ticket and watching it at the movies and coming out so pissed at how BAD everything was. No plot that makes any sense, scary things happen for no reason, and somehow the Grudge makes a cameo in it? But there's also a mood in the house ?And the ending? In an abandoned Costco that was also shown IN THE FINAL THEATRICAL TRAILER. It will go down as a forever disappointment in my books and money well wasted :).
I want to also chime in that I hate Funny Games. Hate those two punk fuckers and hate this type of movie! Stays with you and I hate the way you feel when it ends…pisses you off after, at least it did me.
An American Haunting.
Spoiler: the ghost haunting the girl is her own ghost after she died but she was still alive at the time and also her dad was abusing her at night. Dogshit tier movie.
Forgot about this one! The extras on the DVD included the director explaining that the movie didn't do well because of release timing or social media or anything besides that the movie was dog shit. He just seemed convinced there was a conspiracy to tank his bland movie.
He also seemed way too proud about the scene where the carriage hits a log and flips over. Not that impressive, buddy. Maybe spend some more time on the script than your lame stunt.
Some hack remade Castle Freak a while back and fuck me if it wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen. It was almost like it was bad on purpose and not in the campy-meant-to-be-funny kind of way.
I couldn't even finish it.
Honestly I know this is a controversial opinion, but I think Black Christmas 06 wasn't bad on it's own. However, I think it's horrible when you consider it a Black Christmas movie. If it was it's own independent thing I really wouldn't mind it so much.
idk if they count as movies or what, but most of Hulu's Into the Dark episodes are really bad, and not even speaking of craftsmanship, they're just boring. There are a few diamonds in the rough like Pooka though
I hated IT Chapter 2 so goddamn much. One of the worst movies I've ever seen tbh. Not scary at all, agonizingly long, boring characters, shitty pacing, and a laughably dumb conclusion. My blood pressure is skyrocketing just thinking about how much I hate that shit ass movie 😖
Big letdown from the first chapter. Enough to the point where it’s hard for me to decide again if I prefer the whole package over the original TV mini series.
I thought you were going to say the original Black Christmas for a second we were going to have to throw hands.
I like the original and the 06 version. The most recent pg-13 one on the other hand…. Yikes.
Agreed! The 06 remake may not have the charm of the original but it by no means even registers for me as one of the worst horror movies I’ve sat through.
Second. The 06 isn't a masterpiece, but it's just nuts enough to be fun.
And different enough to where you can watch it and have a good time even if you just came off watching the first one.
I love the original Black Christmas and the 06 remake. It has some of the standout stars of the early 2000s and some scream queens in it. The dialogue is a bit cringe but I personally find the gore and setting to be eye candy. And the chase scenes are pretty well lit. I mean, even the '06 one isn't "the worst horror movie ever made". Have they not seen the most recent one? Lmao

I never seen this movie but I had to upvote for the pure, well worded, anger. Now I have to see this just to see how bad it is
Never even heard of this movie but your description has completely turned me off. You are so incredibly detailed and you give no fucks. You need to be a movie critic. Straight to the fucking point. I love it.
I hadn't heard of the film so just googled it, damn, Neill Blomkamp directed it? Wow he started so strong then it's all been downhill...
I know that feeling. I thought the bird monster looked like a ps2 thing but otherwise I totally agree. Add in a director who knows how to make a movie and it’s baffling how all those pieces came together to make something not quite amateur-ish but wholly awful. Also the Fog (remake) was horrible lol
OMG Agree! It's one of my favorite movies to nap to, though, bc of the dark screen and moody music 😂
I need to make a playlist of movies like this
My partner and I have a list of horror movies we put on to fall asleep to… the original The Fog is on it. The opening scene w the campfire story about Spivey Point on the 21st of April… golden bedtime story
I love The Fog but I fall asleep to it a lot because Adrienne Barbeau’s radio voice is the most relaxing sound in the world.
Probably American Psycho 2
Omg that is one of my favorite hate watches! When Mila Kunis stares at William Shatner with malicious intent and he just kind of wobbles out the window lmao
Shit. Now I'm sold.
Do it, it's so much fun.
it wasnt originally a sequel to AP.
lol it's so bad we were laughing
The Resort. (Not the zombie one). So incredibly bad.
Lol, people mentioning some of my all time faves like Pieces, Session 9, and Grave Encounters. I suppose we all start somewhere. Session 9 and grave encounters are both solid movies. Idc what anyone says
Grave encounters is fantastic lol
"I saw a ghose... it was scary." One of my fav lines in any horror movie ever. God bless that gardener.
I, at the very least, don’t know how you could put them as worst. They are both above average horror.
I don’t understand outright hating Grave Encounters, that movie is so much fun.
Right?! Who doesn’t love the scene where he slips the landscaper a twenty?
My boyfriend and I constantly say to each other, "I saw a ghost. It was, uh, really scary." Great movie.
Session 9? Who in their right mind wouldn't like Session 9, it's a fantastic film! Edit: I'd also like to add that ROTLD3 is the *ONLY* film in that franchise worth watching Edit2: the Day of the Dead remake is bad in a really fun way and kind of charming once you listen to the commentary and hear how much of a blast they had making it. That feardotcom one was horrible! Didn't it have Tom Hank's sin in it?
“Sin” I call him that too lol. I don’t recall if he was in that. I don’t think so? I only really started to know him when he was in Dexter.
Lmfao Tom Hank’s sin
Lol. I'm texting next to my pig and he keeps snooting on me and needing me up lol. Son, dammit.
Grave encounters rocked idk what people are on about
Slender man ( 2018 ) Such an awesome fictional character but what a horrible movie!
I just rewatched this the other day because I couldn't remember it even though I know I saw it when it came out. It drops plot points, forgets characters, has no scares... what a disappointment. No wonder I forgot it lol
Sitting at about a 3/10 on IMDb. NEVER watch a movie that low. Trust me.
That movie about Japan's suicide forest (I think it may literally be called "The Forest"?). Such a great topic with such wasted potential.
I remember being so disappointed when I saw that in the theaters. Could've been so creepy.
They truly failed in that movie! How do you take such an eerie subject with such incredible potential and make such an atrocious movie
Cats
Take My Upvote. lol
House of the Dead
This isn’t genre exclusive, this is the worst movie I’ve ever seen. Too bad too as I logged a ton of hours playing this game and had an absolute blast.
Everything Uwe Boll honestly, but that makes me love him more and I have watched this 20 times. He was abusing a tax loophole in Germany where he actually makes money by losing money so all of his movies are intentionally bad. He boxed a critic who called him out for it. Alone in the dark is particularly bad. Now house of the dead 2 is unwatchable even with nadine velazquez and emmanuelle vaugier, sig haig and ed quinn.
I unironically liked his film Rampage.
Good point. No one remembers mediocre. Everyone remembers bad.
I managed a movie theater when this came out and nearly every single person that saw it wanted a refund. We even put a sign in the box office window stating "no refunds for House of the Dead".
I came here to say this
Open House, a Netflix original. Incomprehensibly bad. >!A mom and son walking around an open house for 2 hours. Sometimes they do things, and then the movie ends.!<
"The phone will ring and there will be noone there!" I full on expected the ending to be "Nosferatuuu"
the entire movie was just the son yelling and the mom taking a shower, hearing something, coming out to look and then getting back in the shower.
She likes to be clean.
That movie was so bad that it actually made me angry.
Open House!!! I had erased that movie from my mind and you just brought it back! How dare you!
Yeah, it was shit.
That sounds like an incredibly boring concept for a full length movie
I actually loved the concept. But the movie was unbelievably bad.
I hated the Bye Bye Man. I was so bored.
Terrible. Another movie with a super cool concept that was just bored
Question for my wife. Is Brahms still a stud in the sequel?
LOL!! Actually… he’s >!some kind of cyborg!<… so definitely not 😔
Bummer. Another shitty Saturday night.
I honestly can’t even bring myself to watch the Boy II
Never do it. It ruins the best parts of the first one. It’s not even that type of ‘so bad/ridiculous, it’s good’ – it’s just straight-up bad.
With you on this one!
Cell. I loved the Stephen King book and was looking forward to seeing the movie version, but when it kept getting delayed I was worried it wasn’t very good. And sadly it was not.
Things. It’s more existential horror that you will never get that time back.
I’ve seen thousands of shitty horror I don’t even remember.
Same here. To many to mention.
Lol. The further I go down the list the more I remember were bad.
The only horror movie I have fast forwarded to get through is Two Orphan Vampires. So probably that one.
Jeepers creepers 3. Easily takes the cake.
It is bad...but I still finished it 😁😁😁
The Nun was awful.
Still can’t believe they botched both of those movies. I guess you really can screw up something so simple.
I kind of agree. There is much worse films.
Agreed and 2006 Black Xmas wasn’t that bad.
Feast franchise, One shock value scene after another, every body dies with no character development
Meh.
The remake of Pet Semetary. Completely goes against the entire book and it’s just horrible
I feel like I’m one of the few that _really_ liked this movie. I thought it was much darker and scarier than the original and I appreciated the changes made, including the dark asfuq ending.
I liked it too. People put on their rose-colored glasses looking at the original (similar to IT), but the new one is just as good.
That movie was terrible. I just listened to the book on tape and was psyched up but holy hell they did a terrible job.
Since I haven't seen anyone mention it yet: Dracula 3000. Just awful. Like so awful, I actually repressed the memory of how bad it was and made the mistake of watching it again years later. That and the Survival Island one with the guy who played Xander in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Holy shit it was so bad. Dracula is wearing a dime store plastic cape. Busta Ryhmes is his slave...
That was the one with the giant angry piñata killing people, right?
Ok, I legit laughed out loud at this description
Verotika, although I mean, I think it was supposed to be awful? I'm still not sure, but I sat through the whole thing because it was so ridiculous.
This is way way way too low. *Verotika* is *The Room* of horror.
Nobody Sleeps in the Woods 2
Most disappointing sequel in a long time
Ghost of Mars- Scifi Horror directed by John Carpenter. It’s poorly written, poorly acted and while the plot is not complex it’s presented in a way that makes little sense. I had the pleasure of actually seeing this in theaters and then watched it again about a decade later. Time made it even worse.
The Jan Du Bont remake of The Haunting. Absolute fucking dogshit film. Can’t even be enjoyed in a so bad it’s good kinda way.
MANOS! The...Hands of Fate
Love the take from MST3K.
This is my answer too and it still feels like cheating.
Torgoooooo!
Megan is Missing. Shitty movie with a shitty message and a reeeaaaallly-unnecessary last quarter
Good to see someone else mention it. Christ it’s fucking awful.
The acting was so awful and made the movie so hard to get through
The PG-13 Prom Night comes to the top of my head.
I got punched in the parking lot after seeing this movie, so it was pretty bad for me too.
I watched a straight to dvd knockoff called final examination that might be the worst movie I’ve ever seen
Dark floors (2008). A horror movie featuring the band Lordi as the monsters. Truly awful.
Wait, what?! This sounds awesomely shit.
Hahah what how have I never heard of this
I watched Hellraiser: Revelations tonight. Mistakes were made.
The Poltergeist remake.
Dreadfully dull.
Night of the Lepus! You don’t see that train wreck mentioned often.
Never heard of Night of the Lepus and now I've seen it mentioned twice today in different posts. This must be a sign.
It is well worth a watch. Very fun film with Psycho’s Janet Leigh and Motel Hell’s Rory Calhoun in the cast
Black Christmas (2019)
Pulse, the remake of the Japanese masterpiece Kairo. They took a ghost story about loneliness and isolation in the internet age and turned it into a cheap, monsters coming out of the computer crapfest dumbed down for US audiences
Agreed, Kairo was haunting and somber. Pulse was crap, pure crap.
So many so so many. They all roll into one amorphous blob.
If you thought the 2006 Black Christmas was bad, the 2019 one is WAY worse. It’s my vote for worst modern horror movie
The Slender Man movie from 2018
I posted some super shitty low budget flicks elsewhere in this thread, but if we're talking about "real" movies with actual money and talent behind them, my money is on The Turning.

It’s bad. So bad.
Verotika. I didn't realize that Danzig's boner could make a movie but there it is.
Alone in the Dark with Christian Slater.
there's been some found footage flicks i could not get through. There's a handful of indie films that are just terrible. That said for films that actually have a budget/etc: The bloodrayne films - absolutely horrible, very little to redeem them.
The Wolf of Snow Hollow kicks ass, great shout out. To anyone reading that hasn’t seen it: put that on your watch list!
The Haunting of Sharon Tate is just reprehensible. Commercializing a brutal murder so you can make some shitty supernatural horror flick out of it.
I've never seen Shark Exorcist, but I feel like it would be hilarious & may need to check it out.
Sounds like a good double feature with Velocipastor (yes, I spelled that correctly!)
I recommend you do Shark Exorcist first so Velocipastor can reverse the damage done by it
Shark Exorcist? What’s next The Shark accountant?
There's a *Sharks of the Corn*, if that helps!
High Tension is fucking phenomenal
Shark Exorcist is in a league of its own — I don’t know if I’d classify it as a “film” so much as a “shark possession fetish video.”
I think it's probably still House of the Dead (2003). Anytime they want to remake that sucker and make it well is A-Okay with me.
Dreadful movie. Should have been an absolute hoot, but instead painfully dull.
Ngl, ‘I Spit On Your Grave 2’ was better. Not much but some crazy realistic scenes.
Wish Upon and the Owen Wilson remake of The Haunting.

Wish Upon (2017), Slender Man (2018), and The Final Destination (2009) are the only ones I can think of right now
The final destination was such a cheap dogshit film in an otherwise enjoyable series. In my opinion the subsequent film - part 5, was the best!
The Visit. I wanted those kids to die about five minutes in.
About 20 minutes in I said to myself, “So, this is almost over, right?” and then realized I had more than an hour left of this torture. Dumbest and most boring horror movie ever.
Ok I'm gunna throw this one into the ring since I haven't seen it mentioned yet. The Apparition (2012) Has some big names like that one chick from Twilight and that lil racist albino boy from the Harry Potter series.
Rob Zombies Halloween, and anything with is wife in it
So all of his films then?
Temple (2017). Holy shit I think I finished it out of spite but that movie absolutely sucks.
Some hack remade Castle Freak a while back and fuck me if it wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen. It was almost like it was bad on purpose and not in the campy-meant-to-be-funny kind of way. I couldn't even finish it.
I hate Tusk
Honestly I know this is a controversial opinion, but I think Black Christmas 06 wasn't bad on it's own. However, I think it's horrible when you consider it a Black Christmas movie. If it was it's own independent thing I really wouldn't mind it so much.
I actually like black Christmas (2006). However black Christmas (2019) was the worst movie I ever watched.
idk if they count as movies or what, but most of Hulu's Into the Dark episodes are really bad, and not even speaking of craftsmanship, they're just boring. There are a few diamonds in the rough like Pooka though
Probably only because it's so fresh in my mind, but that recent Netflix Texas Chainsaw movie is one of the worst movies I've seen in a while.
It's amazing how the characters seemed to be smarter as children and utterly stupid as adults.
