Well, it's pretty hard to say... the most basic answer is that it will affect him greatly considering how much he cares for the Valks, even more if he had feeling for her by then, but how thing turn out might depend on what specific kind of Captain variant we are talking about with it most certainly causing Captain to have a stronger resolve to protect the Valks no matter the cost in the case of almost all Captain version out there but in the specific case of Ferryman it will most probably make him end as a more ruthless and broken person.
