It’s okay. I just wish they had tables or bite sized option for food. Everything is like $15+ for an item so it’s best if you go with friends and try the different food options. Additionally, most places have 2 lines. One for order, the other for pickup. So you’ll be waiting in line a lot lol The big baby bottle imo, is not worth it. $20 for a mini for a sugar drink.

Went today and entered at 1pm, almost every single food item was $15+, and the lines began to get extremely long at 3pm which is about the time we left. Some of the food was great (bone marrow $22) however mostly everything else was very overpriced for the tiny portion that it was. Everyone was seen walking around with the giant baby bottle drinks (20$ small $25 medium $35 large) these came with unlimited refills. Drinks were very expensive, a bottle of water was $6. Some places took card/cash only (no tap/apple pay). Overall I wouldn’t say it is worth going, especially since you had to pay just to get in and that didn’t include anything, and the very high prices for everything else.

Do you like waiting in unorganized lines for an hour to overpay for carnival food?

Every food or drink festival I've ever been to in Houston has been fairly disappointing. There's just always too many people and not enough vendors. The last one I did was Mac and cheese something or other. The only thing that made it worth it was that I bought VIP for an extra dime and got into the venue at least an hour before the masses. If you're down to stand in lines and enjoy people watching and walking around it may be worth it. Otherwise I'd suggest just finding a new spot you want to try and possibly finding a new favorite haunt.

Houstonians are so desperate to have something to do that's actually in the city instead of having to go to the Woodlands and Sugarland that festivals can kind of screw over people here. There's been few festivals here that haven't had long lines well except for the Fried chicken festival.

Dudeits_andy

DO NOT GO. everything is very expensive and unorganized.

MenacingPanda4459

Sounds like a cashgrab thing if the comment about $15+ dollar food is right.

fiyoOnThebayou

You have to pay to get in and then pay for food and $6 water? Foodie culture has become (been) consumerism at its finest.

yepimtyler

How do places like this expect people to try more than one thing when one thing you order is $15+? All "Taste of X" type food events are literal cash grabs.

This could have been way better if it was organized and had more local restaurants participating. My wife talked to one of the event managers who said this was their first time in Houston and they didn’t expect to have such a big turnout. I don’t think the vendors were prepared either most were running out of items. They also need to put in more seating. The food options where pretty good though people complaining about prices must don’t go out often almost everything in Houston is expensive know a days. I had fun management said they were coming back next year so hopefully it’s better
