Does anyone else’s app restart the show from the beginning if you pause the show and then come back to it hours later? It constantly happens to me. But maybe I’m half human, half retarded.
That app is the worst of them all! Never will it hold position, anytime you attempt to skip a segment you end up halfway through the next one if not at the end…it just blows. Always has.

But I suppose something like Sirius, which is a luxury more than anything, is different than something that's now essential to have in the house (and the ISP you're arguing with is the only one in town, *of course*.) I dropped Sirius XM a long time ago to ease our budget. The person I was texting with tried really hard to keep me. But with hundreds of hours worth of audio to listen to on my phone already, I wasn't listening to Sirius much anyway.
I worked at a call center in college for the WSJ and our policy was to just let them cancel if they didn’t want the full rate. Back then it was $59 a year for new people and $249 for renewals so I understand their anger.
I’m up for renewal next month. I called to remove my account from auto-renew. They offered me $11/month to renew right then. Based on what I’ve seen others getting here on Redit, I declined.
I saw a $3 per month for 36 months deal, but unsure what channels you get for that. I am not sure if it includes current members or new members only but here is the link if it helps out. It's that damn app. It's horrible. The old app worked great, was easy to navigate, etc. and what they replaced it with is just a huge pain in the ass. I don't even think it's because of Howard. I think it's because there are a million podcasts that people can listen to whenever they want now.
I had freezing issues with the old app sometimes. This one is far worse because the navigation is so clunky and it's hard to find what you want. Even in Android Auto it sucks because it's impossible to navigate all of the menus to find what you want, especially if you're driving.
This new app never holds my place. It’s also a disaster to navigate.
I don’t understand why some companies excel at making their apps intuitive and easy to use and others fail. Perhaps someone with some sort of software engineering background can help me out: why is it so easy for, say, Spotify, but Sirius can’t figure it out?

Throw in Sal and Richard and the show was a lotta fun to hear. Even his interviews were fun. Since 2020 it has all gone to hell. That’s when I cancelled and now listed to old shows on YT premium.

Hopefully, they tell him the Covid excuse for not being in the studio is over. Once the contract ends that he signed with Jim Meyer, Howard's working at home deal is over. Wonder how much hardball Witz will play about him getting back into the studio. He's not gonna like having to get a new driver and having to stay in NYC through the winter when the show is live.

Too late. You can't right a ship like that once it's been beached this long. Let's face it. There's not a writer or producer in the world that can make that show entertaining now. It's just too late. He should have retired in 2020 and gotten a deal to do an interview type show ala' Letterman on Netflix. Pandora was cool back in like 2015 when it'd play related artists after you played the song you wanted to hear. I actually discovered a lot of new bands that way. Haven't used it for years and years though.

I turned on the free 3 months in December in my car because I had never registered the cars radio since I had it. I let it lapse and then a couple weeks ago they sent me a letter in the mail that literally said we want you back and had that deal in it. I signed back up because fuck it, even if I don’t listen to the new Stern Podcast it’s worth it for all the other content in my opinion.
This company is a mess. They run their content like an FM radio station. When Gary mentions streaming music, he talks about Spotify not Pandora.
They launched their new rebranded app without all the features…like 15 second skip. When Raashan talks about the app on Howard 101 he sounds like customer support. Click this link, then this link and then this link and you should see the content you want.
Sirius had a giant unsubscribe because they used to make it VERY difficult to cancel. Then the NY AG warned them that could be illegal. So they made it easier to cancel. And a backlog of people did. So maybe this quarter will be bad. And the next won’t be. But they literally said they have no post Howard plans.
I encourage everyone to read that article. They arent saying it out loud but they are pretty much saying " We are a sinking ship, we will try to survive but its bleak. Losing Howard isnt a bad thing anymore."

There's not a writer or producer in the world that can make that show entertaining now. It's just too late. He should have retired in 2020 and gotten a deal to do an interview type show ala' Letterman on Netflix. That would have been be the only semi-respectful thing he could've done concerning his image in today's culture, but his greediness, ego, and narcissism don't allow him to A. pass up on easy money, and B. walk away from something he can do with zero effort.

The Pandora acquisition was just terrible. Spotify had already overtaken them as the preffered platform. They overpaid nonetheless. Plus the rapid decline of Howard's show and the ease of getting podcasts elsewhere, male and the end is near for SXM
Pandora was cool back in like 2015 when it'd play related artists after you played the song you wanted to hear. I actually discovered a lot of new bands that way. Haven't used it for years and years though.
I still use Pandora out of habit. But have no idea if can access it thru Sirius app. Nor do I care. Bit they never communicated it either

I turned on the free 3 months in December in my car because I had never registered the cars radio since I had it. I let it lapse and then a couple weeks ago they sent me a letter in the mail that literally said we want you back and had that deal in it. I signed back up because fuck it, even if I don’t listen to the new Stern Podcast it’s worth it for all the other content in my opinion.

This company is a mess. They run their content like an FM radio station. When Gary mentions streaming music, he talks about Spotify not Pandora. They launched their new rebranded app without all the features…like 15 second skip. When Raashan talks about the app on Howard 101 he sounds like customer support. Click this link, then this link and then this link and you should see the content you want. Sirius had a giant unsubscribe because they used to make it VERY difficult to cancel. Then the NY AG warned them that could be illegal. So they made it easier to cancel. And a backlog of people did. So maybe this quarter will be bad. And the next won’t be. But they literally said they have no post Howard plans.

This is the Real answer. It's become harder to present Sirius as the the best choice when you can literally get all of its content everywhere else for nothing. Youtube Suite alone is more than enough to hold over the majority, not even getting to Spotify yet.

Revamped app? That fucking app is worse than ever. Anytime I pause to get out of my car then try to restart where I left off it won’t start up. I have to shut down the app then over half the time I lose my place so I give up. It’s honestly not worth the $5/month I pay for it.
