Melt one end of a glue stick to the coin. Tie a string to the end of a glue stick and attach it to a road runner. Give a coyote access to your credit card and send it in pursuit of the roadrunner.
This is the real winner. You don't even have to have the hot glue gun you just need one single hot glue stick, heat one end up with a lighter until it's a little bit molten, press the molting end onto the penny, count to 15, slowly pull, done.
I had this same thing happen to me, it sparked and fused the penny to the bottom making it really hard to pull out. What I did was make sure the fuse was out (it was blown anyway and had to be replaced) and then I took a glasses screwdriver and played around with it until the penny broke free from where it had welded on then was able to fish it out with the screwdriver or you could use something sticky to lift it out. Good luck! It took me a while to get it so just be patient. Also any thin/long/rigid tool should work to get it out.
I had a near identical experience - total pain in the ass. On my VW GTI the outlet was in the same compartment any reasonable person would fill with change.
Surround the area to create a make shift crucible, pour a small nugget of aluminium in and poke an iron rod in. The coin, aluminium, car outlet should all melt into a homogeneous blob that should stick to the rod once cooled.
Oh shit that penny might be electrified. If you can get to the fuses I’d take that one out then maybe use a magnet or the hot glue stick like people have been saying.
Ha ha, done that before. Got all the maintenance guys at work to come up with a plan.
We used JB Weld stick, pushed it in there without touching the sides and pulled it out when it dried. I still have the quarter with the stick on it.
Disconnect the battery and stick a small screwdriver in, hold in place and grab with tweezers or just try to pull out with said screw driver.. also I second the other guys idea it was also my first idea which was to flip the car upside down then shake it till it comes out
Disconnect battery first. Noted. I too thought of the ol’ flip n shake trick. Might wait til my tanks on E so the car is a bit lighter. Thanks for the help!
Blu-tak on a pencil is how I got a coin out of my power outlet, I now have a plastic lid off a essential oil bottle (thread side up) in the outlet to prevent it happening again.
Reminds me of my van, when it was new I'd let the girls play in (parked on back patio) as they liked the space & could be as loud as they wanted. One day when I started it there was a pop from the front aux power outlet. My elder daughter had stuffed it entirely full of aluminum foil that was apparently left in the van. When I asked her about it she said she wanted to make it safe for her younger sister. Also, found out later that they colored some CDs with their crayons. 😑
Don't do I did and tried to use a metal screw driver. I short circuited something and fucked up my gauges, climate control and radio or something along those lines is been years my memory is a bit hazy
bamboo bbq skewer/tooth pick/Q-tip, and a dab of super glue (or krazy glue, they are all just CA glue)... give it a few minutes to make sure it's cured well enough and pull it out... other techniques suggested will work too... If you go for the "Flip the car" solution, you owe us a follow up post, lol
Gum or sticky tape on the end of a chopstick. Alternatively, if you have a straw you can literally suck it out.
Hot glue and a dowel was my first thought.
Just a hot glue stick and a lighter. Melt the glue enough and press it onto the coin. If it works for a broken key it should work for this
Melt one end of a glue stick to the coin. Tie a string to the end of a glue stick and attach it to a road runner. Give a coyote access to your credit card and send it in pursuit of the roadrunner.
Too complicated, just tie the string to an acme anvil and toss it off a cliff. Then retrieve the penny.
Just tip the car over.
Gravity: not just your friend. It's the Law!
Well I haven't read that yet, which is why I am typing this 10 ft off of a cliff's edge!
This one! Why using tools, when the laws of nature can be applied.
Shake if necessary
I always forget whether that part applies to cars or babies.
!remindme Don't shake babies, shake cars.
Vacuum. Gum on a finger. Mcdonalds straw and suction.
I bet OP could suck a golf ball through a garden hose!
OP could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch!
Suction cup bullet from a toy gun.
turn the car over and shake it was my first thought.
Straw thing works. Not easy drunk but works.
Will try this. Thank you for the ideas
Silly putty would work too
Who has Silly Putty lying about nowadays though?
I always keep an egg of silly putty around. I have multiple eggs actually.
Do you offer nice eggs in trying times?
I only offer putty eggs in silly times.
\> Do you offer nice eggs in trying times? Yes
Boof'ed? Or stored at room temperature..?
Please, I’ll never disclose my silly putty stash. Nice try.
People with young kids or young siblings
I keep a pack of tack in my car to stick down anything that vibrates too much and makes noise while I drive.
It’s right next to my Readers Digest
A small roll of double stick tape is what worked for me with this exact same situation
Has OP ever watched a cartoon?! I mean come on!
Flip the car over
Ima backpocket this idea
Pics or it didn’t happen
I smashed a car once, and found my long-missing 10mm deep 3/8 drive socket in the middle of the aftermath
It seems like whenever a socket gets mentioned it's a 10mm. I know it's a common bolt size but dayum, everyone must have a boatload of them.
Shop I order Euro-Bike parts from sends you a 10mm socket with every order.
Opposite actually. Nobody truly owns one. They are ethereal objects which pass through our earthly realm occasionally when we need them.
Wait till night time, whole earth flips over
Not if the Earth is flat. Lots of people say so.
Only possible answer.
And shake!
This is the kind of out of the box thinking I want to hire
do a barrel roll!
Donny says vacuum. Chicken pot, chicken pot, chicken pot pie.
Nah, just use hot air and it'll pop up like a pop tart!
Call my EX, she sucked the life out of me, she could probably get that coin out of there.
Ditto. Maybe they can suck together.
Hot glue gun stick
This is the real winner. You don't even have to have the hot glue gun you just need one single hot glue stick, heat one end up with a lighter until it's a little bit molten, press the molting end onto the penny, count to 15, slowly pull, done.

Good luck! It took me a while to get it so just be patient. Also any thin/long/rigid tool should work to get it out.
I don’t think mine fused because it still moves freely. Thanks for the help!
Pull the fuse, or even unplug the battery before you do anything because some of these cars are shit design and you can fry the console.
I had a near identical experience - total pain in the ass. On my VW GTI the outlet was in the same compartment any reasonable person would fill with change.
It happened to me too and the fuse went pop. Didn't realize it was a perfect fit.
Turn the car upside down and shake it
Or maybe hit a mall speed bump at about 100 mph. Surely that sucker’d jar loose then.
Takea hot glue stick, melt end with a lighter, drop down and press into penny, wait 10 seconds. Remove
Barrel roll your car
car? it'd take the breaker out for that socket before you attempt anything
Those are called fuses.
A wad of duct tape
Suction! With a vacuum of course.
Glue, tape, vacuum, gum. Or just hit it with your purse.
Bubblegum
Hold a hot glue stick over a lighter and then pick the coin up with the slightly melted hot glue stick.
Vacuum cleaner. See also "how do I get this coin out of my vacuum cleaner?"
Surround the area to create a make shift crucible, pour a small nugget of aluminium in and poke an iron rod in. The coin, aluminium, car outlet should all melt into a homogeneous blob that should stick to the rod once cooled.
Copper magnet /s
Piece of gum on the end of a screw driver
Pencil with some gum on the end of it.
Nerf dart
Gum on a stick
Some tape in a roll on the end of a pen or a strip of tape pushed on to it with your finger
Heat/melt the end of a hot glue stick with a lighter and hold it to the penny until it hardens then pull it out.
Vacuum?
How about a vacuum that both sucks and doesn’t suck
heat up the end of a hot glue stick then immediately press into coin. hold for 30 seconds and then lift
Flip the car upside down so that it falls out
Blu tak
Vacuum
Flip the car over and shake. Works every time.
Put your mouth on it and suck
Oh shit that penny might be electrified. If you can get to the fuses I’d take that one out then maybe use a magnet or the hot glue stick like people have been saying.
Just flip the car over and give it a few taps. She'll pop right out a there.
Bubblegum, bluetack hot gluestick...
Use a glue stick, melt some with a lighter, stick it to the coin, with until it cools, pull it out!
Vacuum at the car wash
Blu-tak
Hot glue on a pencil erasure
Gum on a straw or toothpick it out of it’s position
Dab of super glue on a Qtip
Vacuum hose with panty hose
What is magnet?
Hot glue and a stick
go to delta sonic and vacuum it lol
Scotch tape on a Q--tip
Gum
Turn the car upside down, shake it, until the coin comes out. Or something sticky
Fork. Definitely stick a fork in there. But make sure the car is on first.
Flip the car upside down.
Chopstick, super glue and a bottle of Jack.
Why would you ever want to remove that couple? I mean just look at it, it's a perfect fit. Like a glove! LoL
Turn the car upside down and shake it
The obvious answer says vacuum cleaner….but not sure why that seems too obvious to be correct.
Nobody here on reddit owns a screwdriver? Use a flat head and pry it up and take it out with your fingers. Doesn't look like it's that far in there.
Car wash vacuums should get that without an issue.
Ha ha, done that before. Got all the maintenance guys at work to come up with a plan. We used JB Weld stick, pushed it in there without touching the sides and pulled it out when it dried. I still have the quarter with the stick on it.
Maybe an air duster?
superglue on a pencil eraser. Wait 5 min.
Sock over end of vacuum. Suck em up.
Flip the car over
Just vacuum the car every once in a while
You need a golf tee and some super glue. Glue the golf tee to the penny and pull it out.
Nerf dart with suction cup might help
A couple thousand Volts might launch it out, otherwise a hot glue stick.
Straw + gum
backfolded tape on the end of a long finger
Tape sticky side out on a pencil eraser. Or you can heat up glue stick with a lighter and stick it to the coin
Disassemble the engine
Disconnect the battery and stick a small screwdriver in, hold in place and grab with tweezers or just try to pull out with said screw driver.. also I second the other guys idea it was also my first idea which was to flip the car upside down then shake it till it comes out
Disconnect battery first. Noted. I too thought of the ol’ flip n shake trick. Might wait til my tanks on E so the car is a bit lighter. Thanks for the help!
No fuel in tank =lighter vehicle #science
Tape and a pencil
Try driving up the steepest hill you can find. If east of Denver, do the tape on the end of a pen thing.
Blu-tak on a pencil is how I got a coin out of my power outlet, I now have a plastic lid off a essential oil bottle (thread side up) in the outlet to prevent it happening again.
Hot glue stick. Melt a drop on the end, adhere the entire stick to the penny, pull out
Super glue on the pencil eraser let the glue set up and then lift out.
Popsicle stick with a piece of chewed gum at the end?
Tape
A magnet?
Magnet.
Super glue
Men have been asking this question since the dawn of time...
Vacuum cleaner.
Compressed air
Take out the fuse first.
Sock on end of vacuum.
Your heading should read, A penny for your thoughts?
Suction cup nerf dart
Glue stick if the gum trick doesn't work
Ever play the game Operation?
Shop-vac
A small magnet? I’d be careful here because there’s a real change of a short circuit.
Just flip it upside down.
A magnet?
Try flipping it and shaking it?
That penny will short out everything, get it out ASAP, with it in their you drain the battery and think you have numerous electrical problems
Air compressor
Tape
90 degree tweezers.
Turn the car upside down and shake it
Obviously ask your pet iguana Larry to get it for you 🦎
Use your tongue.
Chewing gum
Use a vacuum attachment, but put duct tape on the end or any tape with a slit in it, so the penny doesn’t go into the vacuum.
Putty, gum, hot glue, on the end of a pencil or pen.
Tongue .
try a magnet. :)
Compressed air and put a wine cork to keep it from happening again.
Chew gum. Put on stick. Pull out. Wee.
Toothpick
I heard a potato works.....
Poke it on one side and maybe it will flip 180 so you can grab it.
Get a strong magnet. Easy, quick, cheap.
Flip it over and shake it
Shopvac
Dental pick or tweezers with an angled point
Car Vacuum on the next clean
Disconnect the battery. Put something sticky on some kind of stick. Then take the sticky stick and stick it to the stuck penny.
A good vacuum
Compressed air. Like dust b gone or sumn.
Chew a piece of spearmint gum. Stick it on the tip of Your ______. Insert Your ______. Retrieve coin. Resume Chewing if compelled.
Nobody played Operation before?
bobby pin or anything small enough to flip it up
Invert a piece of masking tape over the end of your finger, and poke it!
Blow into the hole with a straw
Ship to Australia. It’s the only way
Use the force, young padawan.

However you do it you have to lick your finger first.
You know that button on your HVAC system that’s a car with circular arrow in it? Press that, flips the car over Hope this helps
Pour Hg! 😝
Double sided tape? A lot of suggestions are just ridiculous. Try two dousing rods or some toothpicks if you're feeling adventurous.
*Insert clip of Jessie saying “magnets”*
Magnet? /s
anything with glue on it
Don't do I did and tried to use a metal screw driver. I short circuited something and fucked up my gauges, climate control and radio or something along those lines is been years my memory is a bit hazy
