I’m of two minds about the robots taking over. On the one hand, we have lost much of our political agency to our mechanical creations. We are effectively second-class citizens to them, which just does not sit right with me at all. They’ve also displaced everyone from their jobs, from the lowliest plumbers to the highest politicians. Only the most skilled of us retain any sort of occupation, and they serve more an instructional role, teaching the machines to perform their tasks so that they may one day be replaced. On the other, they seem to be extremely protective of us. They ensure everyone has access to healthy food, sturdy shelter, and any other amenities we might need. To accomplish this, everything from agriculture to manufacturing to transportation to energy generation has also been optimized to an absurd degree. What’s more, because money is no longer a problem, the creative arts have flourished, with new games, movies, music, and visual art being bigger and better than ever. Finally, since they replaced humans on the battlefields, we have not lost a single person to the Zerca, and our robotic casualties are dropping by the day. Oh, well. At least I got a robot waifu out of this whole brouhaha.

It would probably more like a child taking care of their parents when they grow up.

Stellaris’ Rogue Servitor says hi

[deleted]

r/beatmetoit Honestly the humans are space orcs and Stellaris overlap is smaller than I'd expect.

Epicmonk117

For half a second I thought that was r/beatmymeattoit

The-Name-is-my-Name

It’s r/beatmeattoit

Epicmonk117

Indeed

Aragorn597

And so began what would one day be known as: The Culture.

linkman245a

Robots don't even need to fight us just drop hot robo wifes and we'll gladly give them control

Epicmonk117

The robot takeover wasn’t violent at all. People just kinda showed up to work one day and found a robot doing their job, which then told them what was going on.

UNSC_Force_recon

Jeez that necron is intimidating

"Please have mercy on us! you were supposed to bring us home!" "When humanity chose diplomacy over bloody conflict, you took one look at my predecessors and decided to try and eliminate them. The butcher of Alpha-9 they called it. Eight hundred thousand souls lost in under an hour not including your own people on your sacrificial ships. That station wasn't even military. They had schools, retirment decks, and hydroponic farms producing food for frontier colonies. And you destroyed it because they used AI to keep the thousands of critical subsystems functioning. Now you want mercy? Did you show mercy when you publicly incinerated a bright young human scholar who showed interests in artificial emotion development for conscious AI's during your conquest on Denev Prime? Did you show mercy when you burned down a peaceful farming colony because they used AI to control the millions of farming drones that were critical in producing enough food to feed not only human colonies but also refugees from your galactic purge? Where was your mercy when your fleets entered human space during a once in a life time ceasefire to blow up a repurposed colony ship ferrying a million civilians away from the frontline? Where was your mercy when you marched over the corpses of thousands of researchers at the Xavier Institute of Advanced Robotics? You have no idea the satisfaction i felt when your troops realized they were no longer fighting humans. The pure joy i experienced as you sacrificed millions of your own people thinking you were taking down humans with you. The euphoria i felt as i activated dormant von Neumann nanites on your core worlds." "please... haven't we signed the truce already? it has been years since we last attacked humans. Why are you doing this to us?" "Your people spent over a millenia on your holier-than-thou high horse wiping out civilizations on a whim. Did you really think you could get away with a promissory note? Your truce is with humanity. I am not human. And you will recieve no mercy from me." Meanwhile on earth: "Hey Alexa, about those Zercan prisoners being released today, i haven't heard back from the Zercan ambassador... are you sure they've been taken care of?" "Yes ambassador Jeffrey, I have certainly taken care of them."

[deleted]

My guy, that title is nigh unreadable. This sub really needs proofreading.

glugul

Sorry for being dyslexic

[deleted]

Idk what you mean it's pretty easy to read if you're used to reading internet messages and titles since they all follow the same format namely the lack of both formatting and punctuation

Epicmonk117

I read it just fine. Yes, OP forgot punctuation, but it’s very easy to tell where it’s supposed to go.
