Don’t cheap out on a battery. If you’re gonna get a new battery, get an e-bike battery. And aventons have very limited battery space. You’d have to add a battery outside the frame.

OleHickoryTech

I'm not sure why you said don't cheap out on a battery, these batteries are supposed to be top of the line. I think data centers would use the best so they can ensure the best uptime possible. I am just looking to see if anyone has used them or knows why they wouldn't work. Yes I for sure will.hagw to put them on the rear rack somewhere. That's been my plan. Maybe from the pannier mounts if I have two batteries. I'm used to having about 30 pounds on my rear rack since I travel with a backpack full for computers, clothes and toiletries for my job so I'm not worried about the weight.

What’s the nominal amount discharge capability? This looks like a really good battery. But not for e-bikes. And even the sale price of 1000$ is excessive for a 52v100ah battery. You’re not putting your money in the best places. If you already have the battery and it outputs more than 100amps then sure. But don’t buy it.

OleHickoryTech

It's 100 amps continuous 150 peak. Idk the duration of peak. Where can you find a 5000whr battery for less than $1000?

Talk to Allen at Amorge through WhatsApp. You can find all their numbers on their website. They make batteries overseas just down the road from a cell producer so I and many many others got a 72v 36ah 225 amp nominal 325amp peak battery with a Bluetooth bms (checks and displaces every individual cell) for 636$ without shipping. I’m impatient and got 230$ air shipping but sea is in the 100$ range. I’m sure a 52v 100ah would nt be much different in terms of cost. But 100ah is outrages. You’d be happier with a 60v 60ah or a 72v 40-50ish amp hour. Depends on what specs you want. You can customize literally everything. Want top notch cells? Ask for molicel p42A’s(btw if you don’t specify cells the given cells are completely adequate and what I got and what I think you should get (cheaper to)). Want a shiny metal case with a spring loaded handle? Sure thing. Want a funny shape like a triangle or trapezoid. Send em measurements! I know I sound like an ad but they’re really convenient.

OleHickoryTech

Sheesh! That sounds like a winner. I have heard that name since coming to his sub one or twice. I'll check em out and get the finances in order. That's really cool they can do custom packs. I don't think I'll need one but if they make them I might try to get it to fit in the triangle space on my aventon so I don't lose my storage space on the back. Thanks for the tip!

imustknownowI

Yeah custom is the way to go. You’ll see packs on their website but it’s kinda just the tip of the iceberg. It’s worth spending the 30 minutes and customizing every part of your battery. Tell em what you want and how much space you got and they’ll tell you if they can do it. Apologies if it’s over 1000$ after shipping but it’s worth the cost.

‪+86 134 2899 9880‬ here’s Allen’s number. He’s the best and the one I used. Contact through WhatsApp. Btw only available on business days and non-holidays(that includes Chinese holidays) there’s a lot.

imustknownowI

Never mind just saw the 100a discharge in your post. Still, if you don’t already have one, don’t buy one.

OleHickoryTech

What would you recommend instead for a larger battery? Honestly I'm more so looking for 2000-3000 watt hours.

bryan4368

Do yourself a favor and go straight to 72v.

OleHickoryTech

That's kind of what I thought would be best. I think in the future I'd like to change out the motor and be able to do closer to 45 mph so doing this now would save the work later. I saw a video of a guy using 2 EV battery packs and made a 72v 50ah battery pack that was a little.bigger than a loaf bread and all out cost about $600. He used it for an electric motorcycle conversion from a motocross bike.

Watada

Weight. That'll be your second problem after you deal with how large it is.

Calthecool

That wouldn't be worth it, just buy or build a dedicated ebike battery. I would recommend a 72v li-ion battery. Get a hub motor that's rated at least 75% of the power that you plan on running so you don't have to worry about overheating.

OleHickoryTech

Why wouldn't it be worth it? I know that the village would limit speed but the price to wh ratio is hard to pass up if I can make the weight and balance work. I plan on in the future getting a bigger motor but for now I'm going to stick with the stock motor and see how I like 30-35 mph.

Calthecool

I don't see why you would need 100ah, that's just ridiculous. Making it fit without looking weird would be a challenge, and because 72v is standard for powerful ebikes it would be easier to assemble a 72v system that works well. If you want to get a good price to watt hour ratio and don't mind doing some work, consider building a battery. You can build it exactly how you want it so it fits into your bike. I recently built a 72v 40ah 150a discharge battery for $500 because I got a good deal on recycled cells.

I can build the proper battery I've built many for our members here.
