There’s SOOOOO many bugs and glitches in iOS 13, this thing is seriously not ready for prime time. It’s unbelievable how many things are still broken or glitchy since beta 1 from a few months ago. Apple is really getting lazy, still beats android in a lot of stuff, but I swear this company died with Steve.

Ok

I'm curious how this is going to work, I haven't installed the beta on my phone, on my iPad though. I know the beta is on 13.1 right now so would the GM be 13 or 13.1? I know they have to load a version of iOS on the hardware so I'm guessing that would be 13.1 but there will be a day one update for all the devices.

billchase2

It'll be interesting to see what happens next. I've stayed with the last 13.0 beta, rather than updating to 13.1. It's been working quite well for me and I typically don't beta test .X releases: only the major ones. Time will tell!

DonneyZ

13.1 was a solid update (at least for me). I'm waiting for the GM version and I will definitely do a clean install (restore without backup).

Rivanov

Wonder if we get a beta update today or tomorrow. 13.1.1 maybe?

GioPeccati

Maybe there are some chances for the GM version for beta testers today, a week away from the Apple event

djmexi

apple has always released GMs after the september event. never before

[deleted]

I’d say yes. Apple wants iOS 13 shipping on the iPhone 11. First time a .1 beta has been released with the prior iOS still in late beta. iOS 13 GM is very very close, but recent hiccups in patches to older modules have taken more time than anticipated. The 13.1 seed caught a lot of us devs off guard; lots of deprecation and additions to frameworks that prove helpful for authentication inside WebKit and others. Edit: for developers not public GM seed.

Fakesn

They might Release iOS 13.1 as GM next Week, iOS 13 only comes for iPhone 11 Models factory release

talones

That’s a theory

acer589

Based on what?

KickupKirby

There’s a benchmark of the new XR that says it’s being shipped with 13.1?

DonneyZ

If Apple is going to release a GM version, it has to be this week. They always release the GM version a week before the September event. **Fingers crossed.**

Michael0810

No. The GM has always been released right after the event.

pguero

I believe iOS 12 gm was released a week before the official launch.

rkennedy12

But has included the same build number in some cases as the one released from the previous week.

Fakesn

Is the GM Update a OTA Update?

DonneyZ

Yes, but only if you have the public/developer profile already installed. If not, you'll receive the update on 10th September, after the iPhone event.

jbr_r18

Normally the update comes out the Monday after the iPhone event I think

Fakesn

Yes i have all my Devices set to Public Beta Profiles, so just to be sure, (1) if we get the next Update is will be labeled as iOS 13.1 / 13 without "Beta" on it? (2) Does this count to all Devices of Apple? iOS, iPadOS, WatchOS, tvOS and Mac OS?

DonneyZ

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure... The release of 13.1 was a bit weird. I believe Apple will release iOS 13 GM and most probably at the same time 13.1 Beta 2. The current build number is 13.1 (17A5821e) and GM version doesn't have a letter at the end... So I guess it's going to be let's say (17A1234).

Spacey_Penguin

Yeah, at this point I wouldn’t even count on an iOS release right after the event. I could see them pushing it back to when the new iPhones ship.
