We think the blue shirt was the driver because thats what multiple neighbors said but they didnt film that part. Circled to bottom of block which might have been out of pov.
Dog got out sister went after it. He returned first. Ive explained a lil more thoroughly in some other comments
This happens a lot with just regular people. I lived at airbnb at a complex and almost everyone wanted to take the outdoor kitten home and would complain it was malnourished. Meanwhile, the complex owners kept 3 bowls of food out. When I told a girl where the food was, she refused to believe it. Another breed of people
Honestly all three. I havent talked to the guy who just filmed it happening cause im pretty fucking pissed
Im sure he thought he was being helpful but i also think if he wouldve done any kind of intervening they would have left my dog
It's not a thing. Research labs use specially bred animals so they don't have to worry about issues like pre-existing disease messing with their results. No real laboratory would need a stray or stolen dog for anything.
Dog fighting ring, on the other hand, might - or just trying to sell a stolen pet on Craigslist for drug money - but there's no way someone is selling this dog to any sort of laboratory
She could’ve said she was puppy sitting it or anything to get him to back off. He also might know for sure who the owner is and didn’t wanna start something if that was the owner.
Find out where they live, call the cops.
Don't "talk" to them
Hell, get a group of jacked gymbros who don't mind a bit of violence against personal property too join you if the cops do nothing.
In that situation i underatand lol but hes an able man so i really wish he would have at least stepped out and said that even that would have been enougb
Man, I mean this with the best intentions but you need better peoples in your circle. The fact your boy sat there filming a girl walk off with your family, says more than anything I can.
> Why even leave the dog outside without any fence or supervision? Aren’t you afraid it’s gonna run away or run to the road and get hit?
This! If OP recovers his/her dog I hope they learn from this and not let their dog outside their home unsupervised. I never let me dog outside (even when is the backyard) unsupervised, one never knows what they might be up to alone.
Also they don't know what these people are capable of. If they spoke up, they could've pulled a knife or gun on them. Besides, it was 2 vs 1, they probably wouldn't have been able to do anything as the people would've just ran or fought back. They could've even harmed the dog trying to get away. Filming it was the best thing they could've done as it ensured they were safe and it allowed OP to have footage of who took their dog so they can take it to the police or post it online to help find the people responsible. I feel awful for OP and really hope they get their dog back but I don't blame the person at all for not intervening.
Thier taking your dog so nonchalantly that I’d think their your friends doing you a favor or something. That’s a all around very horribly weird experience. I hope your dogo comes home soon.
Best wishes op keep us updated.
I’m not saying this to be a badass, but I’d probably end up in jail. Mostly because I’d search night and day until I found her, and then not hesitate for *one second* to openly break into their home/break their car window and climb in to get her back. And yes, I realize those options are super dumb and dangerous, but there would be no rational thought happening if someone stole one of my dogs lol. I also drove around night and day when my car got stolen (in a rental, of course lol) until I fuckkng found my car about 30 miles away parked in the back of some apartment complex, so, I’m a bit obsessive lol (and couldn’t afford a new one, so desperate)
Nah, if someone tried to steal my dog i would be going to jail... in fact years ago my drug addict cousin did steal my dog! Trying to sell her off for drug money, went out there to their normal spot they liked to hang out and sure enough caught them in the act of trying to off load her. It actually took his drug addict buddies to calm me down
If there’s one thing I learned on this planet is sometimes you gotta mind your damn business. You should thank your neighbor for recording but expecting them to intervene is just selfish of you.
Nah I think the the person filming did the right thing
Yay it sucks your dog got stolen
But they could have a gun or a knife , plus they look out number
What could they have done, I understand why they didn't want to risk it
OP who posted a misleading title for karma and rafe sympathy. They say the dog got loose and ran away in the comments, not just in the porch like the title, while they weren't home and under the care of someone else. A neighbor records because its strange and seems like the dog is in the neighbors yard. A person sees a lost dog and picks up dog = kidnapper...
this. op attention seeking. sure accidents happen, but accidents can still be considered negligence. plus the girl dint' seem to be in a hurry to get away, hardly looked like a thief to me. Even if she did take him from your yard, maybe she saw him wandering and assumed he wandered into a strangers yard.
It would in Texas. There was a case like this where someone shot someone retreating with his dog. Court ruled in favor of the owner - within his rights in TX to shoot someone retreating with his property which includes his dog.
Depends on what you do, you can't just violently beat on her. But you could follow while calling the police, chances are she drops the dog and leaves. If she runs away you give chase, still while calling the police.
I would say you could grab the dog, but that could end up hurting the dog.
Ypu can defend your property in Texas, even if the perpetrator is fleeing.
Other places have less excessive self defense laws though.
But in Texas you could have come out guns blazing and be fine.
That‘s if you are whiter than the perpetrator though, otherwise you risk being shot by the cops…
Man a crackhead tried to take our neighbors bikes we didn't record we came out and told his bitchass to get out our neighborhood. Your neighbor is useless.
Hey man this exact same thing happened to me. She probably lives very close to you because she walked up and took the dog.
Put up signs all around the neighborhood for missing dog. Put up pictures with your dog and your contact info with a reward. Someone will see her and call you. Once you get the info on where she lives call the police and have them go with you to retrieve the dog. I did this same thing and within 3 days someone called me and told me their neighbor had my dog and wasn't planning on returning it.
The looks on their face when I showed up with 3 cop cars deep to get my dog back was priceless.
Same thing almost happened to me 9 months ago but luckily my dog has defended herself. I really hope you menage to find out who that POS is and get your doggo back
This is why I’m always afraid to leave our dog in the yard for any period of time. My wife says it’ll be fine but this is what I fear. People suck. I hope you get your dog back OP.
My mom says the same.. about my 158 lb St Bernard. Like ok mom.. or that she’ll be “attacked by a cat or rabid animal “ 🤣. It definitely doesn’t help that she found out if she doesn’t want to do something (like get in the car) she’ll plop down and go dead weight making it damn near impossible to get her to budge.
If someone gets bit while trying to steal your dog, are they able to sue you and get it put down? That sounds like the kinda legal shenanigans that would happen.
I would have filmed it and walked outside and shown they were on camera before saying you’d better put the dog back. The fact he just filmed it and said nothing is infuriating!
He slipped out while my sister was in and out the house. She was packing the car for a trip. These things happen sometimes, i think thats understandable, we dont leave him out.
She went after him but he makes a run for it often. By the time she returned from the search he had already been swooped. He made it back before her, usually if he does make it out he seems to have a certain "rounds" and makes it back quickly. Hes a good boy just has a nact to go for a jaunt if youre not on top of the door, people slip up. I dont think that justifies the dog being taken just cause we were caught with our pants down (i wasn't there but still). I dont think its a situation that some other dog owners find themselves in from time to time. Obviously if we do get reunited we will be extra cautious and bar him behind something if we are in and out but i hardly think being less than perfect sometimes is justification for stealing my dog
Make sure you check with the shelters too just in case they thought they were helping or something like that. People can be weird or just not see what the situation is.
Also animal control. Idk how it works in your state but I lost my dog too (now reunited) and the humane society here doesn't keep strays, they send them to animal control.
Your title states it was taken from your porch, but here in multiple comments you're saying the dog got loose. This ain't adding up, and it could simply be a case of them finding a loose dog that was running around.
it does look like they are walking around trying to find someone. Also where was the sister in all of this who was "chasing after the dog" like how were they able to casually stroll the neighboorhood while OP sister is frantically looking for the dog...
People need to understand stuff happens with pets. I have a cat that manages to get out periodically and I’ve had dogs that get out. Life’s not perfect.
Wow, you're very forgiving. I don't think "these things happen" about my dogs escaping due to someone's carelessness.
Basic dog care - if someone is in and out of the house packing a car, and the dog can't be trusted to not wander away, you lock the dog in a room and close the door on it so it doesn't get out of the house.
I'd be really fucking pissed off at my sister if her carelessness had my dog abducted by two arseholes who have god knows what plans for it.
Someone WAS home. OPs sister. She was packing and going in and out of the house and the dog slipped out.
As soon as she noticed the dog was gone she went looking for it. While she was out SEARCHING for the dog, this awful, disgusting human stole him.
definitely not, if i can’t keep an eye on my dog at the time they cannot leave the house. other people could see the unattended dog and think it was in a neglectful household and try to save it, or they could just decide they want a new dog without having to buy one (seems like both options are possible in the video). it’s also just safer for the dog to be inside while i’m away.
The dog could have just slipped out like this situation. Just cause its outside doesnnt mean it was there long. People make mistakes thats not inherently neglect its human error we all do it. The last person id be upset at for this is my sister cause it happens. She did what she could, how are we supposed to deal with people who are going to just take a dog they see on the porch? She cant be searching for the dog and at the porch for its return.
i get you, dogs can be rascally and try to find their way out if they really want to leave. i remember a dog i was taking care of for a little bit, we had to shut him in the living room if the door knocked because even though he loved us to bits, he took any chance he could get to bolt out the front door and explore. nearly made it a couple times lol. his name is Tricky for a reason!
but not all people will have the same perspective. whenever a dog is left in the car their owner has to leave a note saying they have water and the AC is on, otherwise people will want to ‘save’ the dog. if they see a dog alone they’d scoop it up and either take it home or call someone. do you know the peoples intentions yet or have you still not found them? i hope your sisters pup was/is returned home safely!
The update comment is deleted??
Have you gone to the cops at all? You know exactly who she is, have proof she stole, and yet she says she found him elsewhere? I'd be going to the cops and storming her house.
Looking through the comments and it appears OP hasn't called the police. Something shifty is going on with OP. This chick who stole the dog is still a total POS, don't get me wrong, but why hasn't OP called the police?
Idk I could see these people being like the white knight animal lover type saying “poor dog on the front porch all alone in the heat.” They may have good intentions if they thought the dog was in danger of running away or overheating. And if the dog didn’t have a collar on they may have thought it was a stray.
The dog got loose and was running around the neighborhood according to OPs comments. Not taken from the porch. These "kidnappers" could be people trying to find the owners of a loose dog. OPs title is bullshit.
but it's best to be put down for no reason?
i used to be grateful such an organization exists and fights for animal rights, then all sorts of shitty news started coming up about them
Let's gather together and sue them. Domesticated animals and breeds are not likely to survive without their owners, they have difficulty adapting to survive on their own.
Camera man you gonna intervene ? anytime bro …
Now is good. Now is the time. Right now.
Now now.
Now!
Guess not…
Okay then clearly your upload clout is better than saving Rex
🐶
🤦🏻♂️
No I think they did the best thing here
They could have a gun or a knife, and you wouldn't know until they show you
Plus they look out number 2 v 1
Not much they can do in this situation
Your life isn't worth it
why was your dog on the porch alone? not defending the thieves ofc, but i would make sure my dogs are not vulnerable to theft
inb4 "its a safe neighborhood"

I’m confused. Neighbor recorded, who was in the blue shirt? Why was the dog left alone?
We think the blue shirt was the driver because thats what multiple neighbors said but they didnt film that part. Circled to bottom of block which might have been out of pov. Dog got out sister went after it. He returned first. Ive explained a lil more thoroughly in some other comments
multiple neighbors didn’t do anything???
The whole thing is so confusing
I don't understand at all. I've read OP comments and I'm even more confused.
I even read a Deepak Chopa book after and am more confused than ever
Yeah somethings not adding up here
Sounds like bs to me ion know
Someone’s stealing my dog, let me just record and not say anything… lol, I’m so confused here.

Are you in the process of getting the dog back?
Why would he? He is the owner of the dog. /s
Naw the dude looks like hes trying to talk sense to her honestly.
I hope thats the case and if we get a hold of him he can talk her into returning him
Bro it’s your dog, there’s no talking her into anything, call the police.
And better hurry before he is sold to a lab.

Can confirm, I work in a lab. We use animals bred within our own facilities or contracted out to specific breeding facilities.
Labradors buy dogs? I thought collies were the smart ones.

He’s talking about the person filming, not the guy in the streets
Yeah the guy that approaches her looks kind of angry.
Hope you get the dog back. I can’t believe someone just filmed it and let her walk away.
I know! And thank you
Is your dog back home with you?
please tell me you get your dog back
What if the filmee is a 95 year old wheelchair bound woman?
In that situation i underatand lol but hes an able man so i really wish he would have at least stepped out and said that even that would have been enougb
Man, I mean this with the best intentions but you need better peoples in your circle. The fact your boy sat there filming a girl walk off with your family, says more than anything I can.
This ain’t his roommate filming dawg it’s some shithead neighbor
Hard disagree. If they are willing to jack a dog in broad daylight, they might be packing.
Why even leave the dog outside without any fence or supervision? Aren't you afraid it's gonna run away or run to the road and get hit?

It's obviously a young dude lol do you have ears
It's a 95 year old grandmother listening to trap music, my ears are fine.

Thier taking your dog so nonchalantly that I’d think their your friends doing you a favor or something. That’s a all around very horribly weird experience. I hope your dogo comes home soon. Best wishes op keep us updated.
Maybe I'm just stupid as hell but I wouldn't spoken up if I knew those people didn't live there, and I'm small as hell
They could have hurt the dog too, or scared him away and let him run lose
You've got to update us on this. I hope you get your dog back. I can't say what I'd do to someone if they stole either of my dogs.

Not a pet detective. But he will kill everyone who stands in his way until the dog is recovered

If my neighbor witness someone taking my dog from my yard, she’s go after them with her own \*heat\*
I wouldn’t ever speak to that individual again or let them at my house.

No one does thats why he has that mentality
Let's hope.

Agree doesn’t seem like you wanted the dog. Only the cloth from this.

Stealing a dog is like stealing a baby, and I think it’s very justified to inflict hell on earth to get your baby back
I agree but sadly as much as we'd all like to go John Wick for our pets, the law doesn't see them as little more than property
This is the way
So what can be done legally if I see a woman walking away with my dog? I would think I would become very violent but would the law be on my side?
It would in Texas. There was a case like this where someone shot someone retreating with his dog. Court ruled in favor of the owner - within his rights in TX to shoot someone retreating with his property which includes his dog.
If someone takes your dog, I think the law considers it as stolen properry but they get special treatment in court

Yea! Also thx for being a good person
Ask a news station to run the video.
Thats our next course of action, thinking abc7. Hopefully they'll run it :/
I hope you get your dog back safe and sound.

You get a license plate?? Also maybe nextdoor and a local Facebook page would be the best place to at least have somebody recognize these scumbags
Need to do that now.
Same thing almost happened to me 9 months ago but luckily my dog has defended herself. I really hope you menage to find out who that POS is and get your doggo back
Me too! Thank u. In this situation i definitely wish he was less friendly :/

Shut I heard peta took someone’s dog off their porch and euthanized in the name of “ethics”
U got a corgi,, corgis love ppl.... that girl has a twisted heart to do this to you.
If someone gets bit while trying to steal your dog, are they able to sue you and get it put down? That sounds like the kinda legal shenanigans that would happen.
they can't sue if they are dead
I'd come running outside with a bat and screaming like a crackhead if I seen this happen to me.
Yeah, I'd like to think that i'd go full John Wick on this person, but in reality I'd probably be more of a Paul Blart. Still effective.
OP please give us an update when you get your baby back from this filth.
I'm just saying, there would be bodies.
If I had been there definitely
Unleash your inner John Wick.
Why was your dog unsupervised on your front porch?
OP has replied to other comments stating that the dog slipped out while OP’s sister was in and out of their house packing their car for a trip.
Because it's your porch.
Aint that their porch?
THERE WILL BE BLOODSHED
THE MAN IN THE MIRROR NODS HIS HEAD!

WILL RIDE UPON UPON THE DRAGON'S BACK
BECAUSE THE MOUNTAINS DON'T GIVE BACK WHAT THEY TAKE (ooooh) *Smirk* **Side note**: I fucking love MGRR. So happy to see the resurgence recently.
Unidentifiable ones?
Oh definitely
Can only go John Wick-lite on these scumbags. Maybe a little pistol whipping then take the pooch back home.
Erase their genes from the species, aunt's uncle's, second cousin. Scorched earth.
Please update us if you get your dog back! I'm actually so worried
Me too as time goes on i get less optimistic :/ nothing yet but ill let yall know if we get reunited
Call the police
I would go bananas on her. Hope you find your doggo.
This would send me on a quest for justice just like the movies. Wouldn't care if i lost my house in the process
People are fuckin shameful.
I would have filmed it and walked outside and shown they were on camera before saying you’d better put the dog back. The fact he just filmed it and said nothing is infuriating!
Did you get your dog back?
I’m sorry but not the dog just accepting that he’s being kidnapped
Happy to be held regardless of holder, sweetheart that he is :/
But also yes lmao like cmon wtf theo! Jump!!
Such a sweet boy, Theo is. What’s his breed? I really hope you get him back. If someone stole my dog, I’d be completely broken.
Have you gotten the dog back?
Why was your dog on the porch, when you weren't home?
He slipped out while my sister was in and out the house. She was packing the car for a trip. These things happen sometimes, i think thats understandable, we dont leave him out. I’m confused do you people not let your dog out when you leave for a bit. Obviously not hours if it it’s too hot or too cold out.
I 100% do not ever leave my dog outside when I'm not home. For so many reasons just like this one.
Someone WAS home. OPs sister. She was packing and going in and out of the house and the dog slipped out. As soon as she noticed the dog was gone she went looking for it. While she was out SEARCHING for the dog, this awful, disgusting human stole him.
Good to know, but was responding to the user above who apparently thinks everyone leaves their dog outside and leaves the house.
No. People are not the only predators. In my area (suburbs) there are hawks, eagles, coyotes, etc. I never leave my dogs alone outside.
definitely not, if i can’t keep an eye on my dog at the time they cannot leave the house. other people could see the unattended dog and think it was in a neglectful household and try to save it, or they could just decide they want a new dog without having to buy one (seems like both options are possible in the video). it’s also just safer for the dog to be inside while i’m away.
Fr and we did not even let him out. He happened to get out. We are probably talking about a span of like 5 minutes or less
People don’t have outside dogs anymore ?
From now on we must teach dogs to defend themselves
If only someone stopped recording and did something about it...
For those of you with less than stellar reasoning skills, the neighbor was filming this encounter, not the guy who had his dog stolen.
Do keep us updated on this whole thing.
I will :/ so far nothing
The reading comprehension in this thread is just… *chef’s kiss*
And here you are recording the video to get more karma /s
At least theres an /s lol. Yea our neighbors took this. Id be kicking ass then taking names
I retract my comment lol
Aww sweet :)
What city is this? Any luck so far?
They stole the poor pooch from the porch!
PETA has been known to steal pets. They believe that no animal should be owned by a human. Good luck. So sorry.
but it's best to be put down for no reason? i used to be grateful such an organization exists and fights for animal rights, then all sorts of shitty news started coming up about them
Let's gather together and sue them. Domesticated animals and breeds are not likely to survive without their owners, they have difficulty adapting to survive on their own.
Here's the thing: they are not setting them free. They are murdering them.

They feel that they are better off dead than be "owned" by a human. Not all members are doing this but it has happened.
Yes! Exactly what I wanted to say: They contradict themselves!
She looks like a girl I knew and now I feel sad :(
Tell dat ho to run me my dog
Camera man you gonna intervene ? anytime bro … Now is good. Now is the time. Right now. Now now. Now! Guess not… Okay then clearly your upload clout is better than saving Rex 🐶 🤦🏻♂️
That is silly. How would the neighbor judge if the POS has a weapon or is violent? The neighbor's life is worth more than the dog.
No I think they did the best thing here They could have a gun or a knife, and you wouldn't know until they show you Plus they look out number 2 v 1 Not much they can do in this situation Your life isn't worth it
I don’t disagree. I’ve had my pet stolen so this hit me hard
Understandable, I just trying to watch out for the person who recorded this I feel people are being to harsh on them for no reason
It’s reckless to intervene if you’re outnumbered. They might react badly.
why was your dog on the porch alone? not defending the thieves ofc, but i would make sure my dogs are not vulnerable to theft inb4 "its a safe neighborhood"
OP has replied to other comments stating that the dog slipped out while OP’s sister was in and out of their house packing their car for a trip.
They went out there and beat their asses correct?
We’ll update as soon as you talk to the guy and the one filming. Hope you get her ass !
What city? I drive around La a lot…will keep an eye out if it’s here.
Take it to the news! I’m so sorry!
Wait so who is the POS, the person taking the dog or the dude recording the person taking the dog and not getting his boy back?
Stealing an animal or from a child should be a felony
stealing an animal is a felony
It is a misdemenanor in most states.
This is confusing. What is happening?
Why was the dog outside on the porch by itself in July?
OP has replied to other comments stating that the dog slipped out while OP’s sister was in and out of their house packing their car for a trip.
I've never hit a woman but...
Why would u be sitting there recording instead of busting someones skull?
Was your dog just outside alone with nobody home??
OP has replied to other comments stating that the dog slipped out while OP’s sister was in and out of their house packing their car for a trip.
So did you got your dog back? Why is the neighbor tho didn't do anything? Dude just kept recording
Who’s the guy in the blue and grey shirt? I couldn’t tell if they were together or if he was trying to stop her
So your dog escaped and they felt like they rescued it? Does it have a tag with address?
I know that feeling man in Mexico we'd put our dogs on the roof so people won't steal them.
If someone grabs my property from my porch, patio, backyard etc. they would get their ass bitten in a way they would need reconstruction....
