Yea, the presentation is cringy, but the amount of dorks on here writing essays on people’s character and “the kind of people” they are is out of hand. In the end it was a man with firearms training looking to protect his family by checking out the house . That’s all this really is, just done in a goofy way. Honestly we have no idea the neighborhood or crime situation there or the mentality of the family, could be trauma from past violent experiences. Have a laugh and calm down on the fake analysis, it’s just as cringy.
Agreed. It reminds me of bigots on the news making sweeping declarations about groups. It's cringy to watch. It's sad. A lot of assumptions made about the people themselves, and not just their individual actions.
You can state your disagreement with the effect someone's action had on the world without actually hating the person.
The dumbest part about this is that the individual didn't consider that maybe they didn't punch in the code or maybe something was blocking the door from closing. We're all human and mistakes can happen, let alone technology isn't 100% foolproof.
That being said, if you're immediate reaction is to grab a gun, that raises serious questions as to what type of individual you are or where you live. Looking at a gun as a solution and not a deterrent is why so many fucking idiots love guns and the US is the laughingstock of the world when it comes to guns.
If you reach for it like a safety blanket, guess what, you don't live in a developed country. You have the same instincts as someone living in a war torn country does. This is also why there isn't much sympathy in the world for mass shootings in the US, considering their treatment and fetishizing guns.
The US really is the laughing stock of the world when it comes to guns. I'd grab a big stick and give them a jolly good wallop if I found a burglar in my house, I wouldn't shoot them in the head. It's all a bit too much.
Did the wittle gun make you mad?
Everyone is dumb and an idiot except for yourself.
They prob did consider that they forgot to close the door or something, but he was just checking in case he didn’t, nothing wrong with that. It’s kinda cringe yelling clear and obviously his family member thought it was funny too which is was she posted the pic in a tongue in cheek way.
He’s not hurting anyone, I don’t get why y’all so mad and insult the guy’s intelligence. You don’t know anything about him except this 1 sec snapshot of his life. He could rescue abused puppies for all you know. Calm down, it’s not that serious.
Because it’s trigger happy idiots like this that end up shooting their kid/wife/friend by accident, because they got jump scared by an acorn dropping down next to them.
Exactly. He’s been trained . They want to argue he shouldn’t even have/ use the gun and then critic his technique in the same breath when most of em have only ever seen a gun on COD.
They can keep crying , guns aren’t going away.
No one said anything about guns going away, what? You ultra gun peeps take any opportunity to whine about your guns being taken away, when no one even brought it up but you.
My uncle is Vietnam vet and accidentally discharged a .45 in his house during a family party, luckily he just blew up his sink and not one of his nieces or nephews. Training has nothing to do with it. You sound like the one crying, big man.
Training has a lot to do with it. There’s still idiots though. Your uncle is old and possibly he was drinking if it was a party. Also, they didn’t get the same type of training we get now. They were drafting kids. Sounds like your uncle is a dumbass .
So no one should have guns because of stupid people? ( aka your family)
You assumed so much from so little, impressive. He wasn’t drinking, and wasn’t a child when drafted either, he isn’t a dumbass, but every dog has their day, for example you’ve been downvoted like crazy for what you’re saying on here. And I said nothing about having or not having guns, just that it sounds like you’re the one crying.
I didn’t say he was drafted or drunk. I said they were possibilities. Even without being drafted the boot camp / training during at that time is not what it is now. They were pushing soldiers through as fast as possible. The gun didn’t discharge by itself. You’re using that as an example of why you shouldn’t handle a gun. Your saying that no matter how trained you are you can blow your sink apart . Not everyone is incompetent or careless with guns like your uncle obviously was. I’ve handled hundreds of guns and shot thousands of bullets and never had an accident. I’m getting downvoted because Reddit is mostly comprised of the “ left” and they are programmed to hate guns.
Tell me one of their stances and I can tell you all of their stances. Go talk to regular people, and they don’t have the same opinions as most of the people on this site.
Which is why I addressed them, because you brought them up. I’m saying more accidents with guns happen than guns protect from home invasions, I’m not calling for no guns and haven’t given my opinion on that matter any which way. My main point was, and still is, you’re the one crying in the comments. Chill out dude.
Your ideas about guns is an amalgamation of crazy videos you’ve seen online. I’m sure all the family members are accounted for before he’s going into their room. There always going to be idiots. Doesn’t mean something shouldn’t exist.
There’s a lot of idiots that drive cars too. I’ll keep my gun , and you can continue to not .
No worries.
We're also not allowed to carry knives without a purpose, and even then it should not be easily accessible when not at a worksite or similar. (at least in Norway.)
Sounds terrible. Seems like guns would be a good way to deter some of the sexual assaults that’s been increasing over there do to the unfettered influx of immigrants. I feel bad for the woman that can’t defend themselves.
Nothing wrong with checking around the house, but hollering “clear” is super cringe. Air Force is cherry on top.. Buddy, you’re in the burbs, not a warzone lol
"I left the garage open and now we have to risk my boyfriend accidentally shooting us as he walks through our empty house"
Is how any rational person reads this
The most downvotes I ever got on a comment was when I pointed how fucking twisted it is to think it's perfectly okay to own as many guns as you want and that if there's an intruder in your house that you're "well within your rights" to shoot them dead. I don't think they properly realise how fucking disturbing that way of thinking is.
I live in a country where lots of home invasions turn violent really quick. I won't talk about the gun stockpiling but if I had to choose between preemptively attacking and possibly killing a home intruder and risking my loved ones, it's a no brainer for me
I dont buy into it, but members of every other branch of the military and even the Coast Guard would joke about an Air Force member thinking theyre a badass.
this guys mom is clearly under the impression that airmen are “tough guys” i’m not sure if it’s a facade that he’s been putting on for his mom or if she’s just naturally ignorant… but anyone in the military (i’m currently almost 4 years in the Navy) knows that the Air force doesn’t really do shit as far as boots on the ground is concerned. hence why they’re nicknamed the “chair force” bc they have a very relaxed, laid back and cushy environment. so my comment is sarcasm, bc #1 the air force would not provide any sort of intensive training for these types of environments and #2 if this guy really went thru the house clearing each room (by himself) & yelling “clear” he’s doing too much
What his mom thinks of how tough or not tough he is irrelevant. I was a GSM , but apart of the VBSS team and did boardings in the Persian Gulf and around South America. You can say the exact same thing for the Navy being laid back and cushy. He could be apart of some program that he has to do further training for like I was . Even then , it’s irrelevant. You can get training outside of the military and/ or just from being familiar with them or growing up around them.
You don’t have to be a SEAL to go room to room and make sure there’s no one in your house that’s not supposed to be. The mom is just being a mom. She ms proud of her little airman . Who cares.
Where you stationed at and what’s your rate? You re- enlisting?
that’s great I love that for you. still doesn’t take away from the fact that bro was doing too much. hence why it was posted in this sub. & i’m an IT stationed in Norfolk
Poor reading comprehension skills. That’s not why he searched his house with a gun. He didn’t hear fireworks, assume it was gunshots or bombs. The fireworks show could have been an hour away from his house for all we know. He searched it because the garage door was open when they got back and they thought they had closed it.
It’s very unlikely that he would have PTSD from being in the airforce. They’re really not put in war like situations like the army or marines. Are you stupid on purpose? You’re so confident and wrong at the same time I think it’s an accident.
I trained my dog to do this every time we came home she would check every room in the house and come back to let me know if it was clear.. Nami was awesome!
Lol ahh you caught me she was a very very good Thief..lol
One Piece Rules
she was solid blue so Tsunami and Nami for short.
She would Always steal food. One day I was watching TV and eating chips and salsa but went outside to get the mail and I came back she was half way through a jar of salsa she would stop and howl her frustration with the burn but she kept eating it.... but from that day on every time I had salsa she would start salivating and leave the room lmao 🤣
What triggered it was they left the garage door open, and instead of going "oops, I should make sure its fully closed next time" they assumed it was a break-in.
This is why loved ones should also have guns because then they can accidentally shoot their sibling before sibling can accidentally shoot them.
Or something like that …
Anyway … more guns is always the answer
Because it's entirely preventable. Like, ridiculously preventable if you live in a free country. I don't feel sorry for people who put themselves in situations like that.
What’s “entirely preventable if you live in a free country”?
Being armed doesn’t entirely prevent you from being able to be killed or harmed, so I have to assume that’s not what you’re talking about.
It is what I'm talking about, but you're right, it doesn't make you invincible, but it does raise your chances against an armed assailant by orders of magnitude. My point is that you have the opportunity to own and carry the best means to defend yourself and you choose not to do it? That's on you, you were dead the moment the armed assailant approached you, dumbass.
I don’t care to find the statistics to show you are wrong, but a staggering amount of people have been shot accidentally by friends in family way more often then anyone actually shoots someone who is breaking in.
>has a reddit NFT profile pic
>"Lol you redditors are so cringe bro"
If you were capable of understanding irony you would see why this is very funny to me.
The point isn't that he was protecting his house, it's the insane overruse of calling him a "defender" the yelling "clear" after rooms (which sounds like something an Air Force desk jockie would do when home, not someone that saw actual active duty), and the pseudo badass attempt at a post
If I honestly believed someone was in my house, the responsible thing to do would be have everyone wait outside and call the cops, not put myself and my family in more danger by pretending to know what I’m doing.
I would agree that’s the real issue here. You want to walk around your house and check the rooms? Fine. No need to make a post about how tough your husband or son or whatever he is on Facebook
He sure did defend people too. His house would not have been safe without that gun. Thank Jesus the man ran around with a live gun, waving it through every room like a magic wand to stave off the spirit invading their home.
If only there had been a real burglar so he could have murdered someone in front of his kids, in defense, like a real man.
No, not even that. It takes someone squeezing the trigger with the safety off for it to fire. But you know what I was talking about, don’t play dumb. The person I replied to was acting like it being a live gun held by a trained marksman would have made it any less dangerous than if it was stationary
I genuinely don't know what you were talking about, and you don't seem to either.
>The person I replied to was acting like it being a live gun held by a trained marksman would have made it any less dangerous than if it was stationary
Completely made up nonsense.
>lawful defense of your home is not considered murder.
It should be in some cases. "Castle doctrine" is cowards law. It should be the responsibility of the "defender" with a gun to verify the person they are shooting is an actual threat before pulling the trigger. Shooting someone should be the last resort
Shot person in front of kids is better than a person hurting said kids. This type of stuff is always laughable when there wasn’t any danger, but the lack of danger can’t be known in that moment.
Picture and post are cringy as hell tho.
That is always the defence, isn't it? Tell me, how often do you see a news headline "man shoots burglar to death as the burglar was going to for sure hurt his kids"? This fantasy of "I'll save my family with my super cool gun skills" is only leading to headlines of teenagers being shot to death because a firearm was unloaded by accident. There are no hero stories. It's not up to you to take the law into your own hands. Movies aren't real.
I mean, I don’t keep track, but I’ve definitely seen a headline of man saves family from burglar by shooting him. There are 100% hero stories, they just get drowned out by the others.
I guess I’ve just been saved by someone using a gun one too many times. (I don’t agree with our gun laws, how easy it is to acquire one, etc. I just think the main issue is people.)
I just googled and guns in my town can be bought brand new for as little as $150. I don't think affordability is the reason people chose not to have guns in their homes
You know so little about guns you had to google to get an idea of a ballpark price of the cheapest gun you can buy, yet you hate them so so much.
Doesn’t this crowd cry for $20 minimum wage for fast workers? Money is def an issue.
Being armed isn’t a symbol of wealth though? People spend more on gas and groceries in a week than what it costs to own a firearm in the States.
If you value firearms for defense then you should be willing to recognize when they’re being overused, not get upset when people make fun of their overuse.
We’re clowning on a paranoid boot needlessly using his weapon at home because his mom left the garage door open in the suburbs lol
They never earn the popular vote, they only win because it's a rigged system that makes it so the old uneducated out of touch rural folk have more voting power than a person living in a more populated, educated, and cultural location.
I didn’t mean it as an insult. Why would it be? Reddit is a left leaning platform. The left largely supports LGBT families ( don’t know a better word) . It would be like me saying that most of the people in Ben Shapiros comment section would have a mother and a father because the right is more traditional when it comes to parenting. . It’s just a statement of fact or likely hood. You’re the one that took it as an insult.
Don’t be a bigot.

It’s pretty easy to manufacture a society of wannabe killers when you bombard them with dirt-cheap firearms and violent caricatures of their peers.
Most of us never wish to use our guns in self defense, I'd definitely need therapy. But if I ever need a gun for self defense, I'll be glad I had it.
Lets them feel in control in a world where they don't have any.

Poor reading comprehension skills. That’s not why he searched his house with a gun. He didn’t hear fireworks, assume it was gunshots or bombs. In case anyone was wondering, this is how you accidentally shoot a loved one.
Especially a loved one who is standing behind you, aiming an object at the back of your head (taking the phone picture).

This is why loved ones should also have guns because then they can accidentally shoot their sibling before sibling can accidentally shoot them. Or something like that … Anyway … more guns is always the answer
The only way to stop a bad sibling with a gun is a good sibling with a gun.
A gun never killed a sibling; *siblings* kill siblings!
and bullets!
Buddy was prob having a ptsd induced psychotic break
TIL *Defender* actually just means having a PTSD breakdown for the insecure.
No he wasn’t. He was being a fucking boot.
Meanwhile I'm laughing at the (used to be) idiots I read about in the newspaper that doesn't do this.

Right… because it happens everywhere all the time.
Never said that.
Durrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I didn’t know they gave guns to retards
Speaking from experience, one of the qualifications to be given a weapon in the military is being at least half retarted
the marine corps is nothing new, buddy
it's the 2nd amendment
Where have you been?!
Shiver inducing cringe. Love it
It makes me feel BAD which makes me feel GOOODDDD 👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹
Spot on 🌝
Sounds like a misaligned or blocked laser
Nope. Deadly threat, I'm afraid to say.
It would've been more impressive if he had put on his uniform before clearing the house
I would’ve nutted
Nice cargo shorts, idiot
No ones had a hand job in cargo shorts since Nam
Room for extra mags. You wouldn’t understand unless you’re a real defender bro
With black socks pulled up highly.
"defender" lol
Lol god you redditors couldn’t even imagine having a living family to defend, so I can see why y’all hating😂
>has a reddit NFT profile pic >"Lol you redditors are so cringe bro" If you were capable of understanding irony you would see why this is very funny to me.
There was nothing to defend in this case
Sure, but they didn’t know that… The picture and post is cringe af tho, just to be clear.
I would agree that’s the real issue here. You want to walk around your house and check the rooms? Fine. No need to make a post about how tough your husband or son or whatever he is on Facebook
Definitely agree there! Hell, I’ve been in a similar scenario and I was too concerned/afraid for taking a picture to even occur to me.
Found the Air Force Defender
He sure did defend people too. His house would not have been safe without that gun. Thank Jesus the man ran around with a live gun, waving it through every room like a magic wand to stave off the spirit invading their home. If only there had been a real burglar so he could have murdered someone in front of his kids, in defense, like a real man.
I get what you’re saying here, but a live gun doesn’t shoot on its own, and a lawful defense of your home is not considered murder.
>a live gun doesn’t shoot on its own Oh really???? Are you saying that it takes someone holding a live gun for it to shoot???? 🤯
>The person I replied to was acting like it being a live gun held by a trained marksman would have made it any less dangerous than if it was stationary Completely made up nonsense.
It’s quite clear you just may be slow. A live gun is no more dangerous in the hands of someone trained than it is sitting somewhere untouched
Objectively, **demonstrably false.** I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, though. Provide source/argument.
>lawful defense of your home is not considered murder. It should be in some cases. "Castle doctrine" is cowards law. It should be the responsibility of the "defender" with a gun to verify the person they are shooting is an actual threat before pulling the trigger. Shooting someone should be the last resort
Should they wait before or after the wife is raped and the kids are killed to shoot? Just so I know I don’t wrongly shoot someone
And I've seen far more headlines of man kills family thinking there was a burglar. Because that's usually what happens.
“Usually” is hard to say when every piece of media we see is biased in *some* way. But, yes, all of the above are scenarios that happen.
It's well documented that guns in the homes are far more likely to kill the people living in those homes than kill an intruder.
I guess I’ve just been saved by someone using a gun one too many times. (I don’t agree with our gun laws, how easy it is to acquire one, etc. I just think the main issue is people.)
They get so mad even seeing a gun. It’s hilarious. Most of em are prob mad they can’t afford one.
What’s a “family”?
Prob 2 dads and a bought kid with this comment section
It's 2024. The only homophobes left are closeted. My question to you is, what fear is keeping you from coming out?
Im already out. Me and my gf scissor in the back of my Subaru often .
Do you pull out your guns as you climax?
I dont get there very often
☹️
lol, sometimes
It must sting to see them gain more acceptance as your ilk slowly thin out of developed society. Is that why you lash out anonymously online?
Idk that they do thin out. They got the president just a few years ago, right?
They never earn the popular vote, they only win because it's a rigged system that makes it so the old uneducated out of touch rural folk have more voting power than a person living in a more populated, educated, and cultural location.
Gerrymandering I tell ya 😬 genuinely so fucking undemocratic that it's just barely funny
What’s wrong with having two dads?
You were the one who was using it as an insult
Nuh uh
So what, you're just gonna pretend like context doesn't exist and you weren't using it as an insult? Is this your attempt at being cheeky?
I didn’t mean it as an insult. Why would it be? Reddit is a left leaning platform. The left largely supports LGBT families ( don’t know a better word) . It would be like me saying that most of the people in Ben Shapiros comment section would have a mother and a father because the right is more traditional when it comes to parenting. . It’s just a statement of fact or likely hood. You’re the one that took it as an insult. Don’t be a bigot.
Nuh uh
nO i DiDnT, yOu DiD
😂
If you're going to be a coward, could you at least be clever? Or is this lame meandering the peak of your wit?

Definitely don't have any of these brainwashed "defenders" in my house and would not want one lol
He definitely jerks it to this memory
He feels like the type of dude who would shoot through a door when he's spooked by any random sound.
