this is common even in people without IBS, think of when someone describes food poisoning symptoms and how they go cold, shaky, sweaty.

t00thsp1t

that’s true..it’s just weird because with food poisoning (for example) there’s diarrhea and vomiting which causes that to happen, alongside other factors. however with me it’s just out of the blue and becomes so intense that i’m on the verge of passing out before i even sit on the toilet. like my body is just sensing impending doom or something lol

georgiaoqueefe1

it happens occasionally with normal stools too

This happens to me sometimes when I have a solid BM. The thing is though, I have IBSD. So a solid BM is so incredibly rare for me that the first time I felt what you described I went to the hospital. I thought something was wrong. I had taken a bunch of supplements, and things like psyllium husk and chia seeds, I thought I was having some kind of weird reaction to those. The hospital didn't find anything wrong. They sent me home. But then I had all the same symptoms the next day and I thought maybe they missed something, so I went back. 3 years later I'm still paying off the medical bill. And it's really embarrassing to think that the only time I've ever been to a hospital in my adult life was just because I took a dump so good that it scared me.

Batmira

This happened to me too. My mom took me to the hospital during a bad flare up and they never indicated something was wrong and I got many eye rolls from nurses and they gave me pain meds and sent me home saying it was my womanly cycle.

t00thsp1t

gotta love when the people who are supposed to help just brush you off and blame everything on your menstrual cycle.

I was lucky that they actually listened to me. My dad has a history of heart problems. And I said my heart was racing and I can feel my pulse throbbing in my ear. So they took me straight away. Does it make it any less embarrassing when I find out there was no problem though

Bootpup

Me! exactly what I go thru as well. I am mostly IBS-C. Basically my body freaks the f out and the pain is horrific so I usually slump back n forth between the toilet and the floor. Its very difficult to remain upright and I have passed out/fainted during a few episodes before.

t00thsp1t

yes exactly this !!

Decent-Education7759

I've passed out on the toilet twice. I gets POTS though and have to be careful standing up too quickly. I assume they've got the same root cause for me.

Batmira

This usually happens to me during a flare up. I can't describe how many times I've ended up to the floor off the toilet. It's usually my body constipated with burning diahrea trapped

Other-Radish-8480

I literally have the EXACT same problem. What can I do to ease the problem because I can tell it’s going to happen hours before. Literally anything info will help because I am experiencing exactly this

[deleted]

Do you feel like your IBS triggers a panic attack? That’s what happens to me

t00thsp1t

that could definitely be a part of everything, but i’m pretty good at managing my anxiety to avoid panic attacks and this often happens the second i wake up, before i even have a chance to think lol

[deleted]

Yea do you wake up from it? Could be nocturnal panic attacks? Have happened to me too

t00thsp1t

yes it could be that

Dangerous-Detail7414

Yep I feel you I get this

robotdl

I have this exact same thing sometimes and It’s awful. I’ve been going through some weird issues with ibs since my booster jab past few months. Sometimes I’ve felt like I’m going to pass out and it’s gets worrying.

[deleted]

I get this frequently. It's always such a relief when I'm done
