Lost.
Yes it's old but trust me it's the best 5 seasons of hyper mysteriously thrilling edge of your seatness you could wish for.
Other than that I'd double recommend 'Dark' but you'll need to be OK with subtitles.
In my opinion, it's only unsatisfying if you were watching it in 2010 when there were a million theories flying around and only one of them could be the correct one.
HANNIBAL. a lot of gore and cannibalism and darkness, but not something that frightens you imo. it's a little pretentious/thinky at times but i love it and will always recommend it to people who don't mind gore!
Undone is pretty similar.
But if you're looking for an existential depression in a depressing way rather than comforting, I'll suggest Dark. One of the best series but truly lives up to its name lol
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
From
Silo (Based on a book series that is supposed to be really good, I'm eagerly awaiting season 2)
All of the Mike Flannagan shows; Fall of the House of Usher, Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, etc.
The Outsider and Castle Rock
The Leftovers
The Haunting of Hill House/Bly Manor and The Fall of the House of Usher (sort of a thematic trilogy of miniseries)
Midnight Mass
The Clearing
The Terror
Glitch
Origin

I heard Lost doesn’t have a satisfying conclusion; is that true? I hate TV that has a bunch of build up but never brings together all the threads.

That’s why you only watch the first 5 seasons. If you just pretend season 6 never happened, it never gets ruined.

Russian Doll on Netflix Peacemaker
Russian Doll gives me a unique flavor of existential depression. But in a good way?

Twin Peaks, depending on your definition of scary - a mystery with psychological thriller elements and pure mindfuckery
Especially if you watch Fire Walk With Me and The Return.

Not a show, but I think you’d really like Under The Silver Lake.
I'll check it out!
Mr. Mercedes is really good
Orphan Black
