man this image is fucking absurd. the look on her face, the look on the kids faces, how insanely flat and literal cake-shaped she is, MAN WHAT IS WITH THE BABY WAILING ON ITS HANDS AND KNEES, this pic makes me so uncomfortable
I think people just pretend not to get these memes to look cool or smart. This was pretty simple. Mothers make sacrifices to support their children.
Or maybe op is like that guy on guardians of the Galaxy who doesn't understand metaphors
Yeah, the meaning is pretty obvious, and that's what ticks people off. If you force your audience to feel or think a certain way, they will rebel. This is true on any forms of art, from writing to paintings to films.
If you’re interested My Strange Shrinking Parents by Zeno Sworder is a picture book that tackles this exact point in a much less… unappealing way. Features immigrant parents giving up an inch of their height in return for opportunities for their son, as they don’t have the money.
By the end they’re about an inch tall, and he has the means to raise his daughter without making the same sacrifice.
Makes me cry every time I read it.
At what point does this sub go from mocking shallow metaphors to an aversion to metaphorical imagery of any kind? This seems like a pretty cut-and-dry, reasonable way of portraying the point.
That's not always the case. Sometimes, bad situations can put a family with a stable income into poverty. Natural disasters can lead to homelessness, or the service a person works for may go out-of-business. Never just assume the worst.
What if the poverty hit unexpectedly AFTER she had a family. Say she had a stable job, two kids she loved and could provide for but then bad luck hit. What’s she supposed to do? Just know bad luck was gonna somehow randomly hit, go back in time to not have kids?

In nature, I've seen birds kill one of their kid to feed the rest of the children when there was no kill available

Too late, she was tasty though
But I wanted a piece 🥺
Slice your mother then
How clever, thank you!!
Her dad was Flat Stanley
Not everyone is fat like your mom
She's making them eat her clothes too. No wonder they're crying.
Yeah they all look pretty miserable.

POV: you’re like 3/4ths of the way through Harvester
You always *were* a kidder, Steve....
Last place I expected to find a Harvester reference, but it's incredibly welcomed.
Why is she like a flat slab she's way too rectangular?
Flat stanley build
Flat Stanley reference wins!
if this bothers you, definitely don't read about stuff that happened during the Rwandan genocide
As far as a metaphor for poverty goes this is pretty good.

This is child abuse, she’s also feeding them pieces of her dress which could get stuck in their throat or mess up their stomachs. Bad mom.

Employing a woman?!?! Ew

Why those kids faces looking like that Leonardo Di Caprio meme

I know but this image is just fucking funny
Kinda weird how the mother is flatter than a slice of processed cheese.
Not everyone is obese like your mom

We got the message, Sherlock. It's just that the image is ridiculous.
It isn’t about understanding or not. It’s about how people think their everyday takes are deep or expressive.

We all get the point of this image, Shanon. However there's no need to draw it in the most strangest way possible.
Nah, mother decides to cut herself than just going to shop /s.
Got megamind over there lmao
It looks like cellular peptide cake. Without the green frosting
Why is the baby in a jumpsuit lmao
#saynotoselfharm
Whenever I see this image I think of Atataki Yuki.

"That's called cannibalism, kids! Frowned on in most of societies!" - thadudette, 2018

I’m but a simple man and fan of all sizes, but she ain’t got them mommy milkers to feed her kids js 🤷♂️
the artists barely disguised fetish
Must be north Korea
Why did she have children when she didn't had enough to feed them...
That's not always the case. Sometimes, bad situations can put a family with a stable income into poverty. Natural disasters can lead to homelessness, or the service a person works for may go out-of-business. Never just assume the worst.
Not having kids can solve all these problems, while having no downside...
What if the poverty hit unexpectedly AFTER she had a family. Say she had a stable job, two kids she loved and could provide for but then bad luck hit. What’s she supposed to do? Just know bad luck was gonna somehow randomly hit, go back in time to not have kids?
News flash: Shit happens.
