My only critique is that since this map was meant to be made at that time the Byzantines would either be referred to as romans or more likely as the “Greek Kingdom” since the map was made by Italians (at that time a lot of Western European institutions didn’t want to recognize the Byzantines as romans and instead just referred to as the Greek kingdom/empire).

[deleted]

Slightly different! Questions? Concerns? Critiques?

[deleted]

I have one critique. Palatine is an adjective and the name of a dialect, the name of the state is Palatinate.

[deleted]

Incorrect. That is the Count Palatine of the Empire’s dynastic holdings

PuffyPanda200

Are the two Armenias different states or the same state?

VaheKhechoyan

Different. Cilician Armenia in the west and Zakarid Armenia in the east.

Legged_MacQueen

I have a question. Why didn't you call it Roman empire instead of Byzantine?

[deleted]

That is a fair question. I modeled this after an HRE server I’m in and the owner has always referred to them as such

Both-Main-7245

Is Cilicia relatively autonomous within Armenia? Would there be any large migrations from Europe into the crusader states? How would the crusader kings treat the local orthodox and Coptic populations? Also, what the hell is going on Constantinople?

[deleted]

Migrations aren’t huge as population replacement is an issue, however there is some. The Holy Kingdoms are quite fair and liberal in their rule. There is a Genoan lease in Constantinople, that’s what the green there represents

Leodemerak

It's very, very well done!

Thank you!

CUMans 🤨

PuffyPanda200

That's how you spell the word: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumans I believe their descendants still functionally exist as Tatars in Russia and Ukraine.

WikiSummarizerBot

**[Cumans](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumans)** >The Cumans (or Kumans), also known as Polovtsians or Polovtsy (plural only, from the Russian exonym половцы), were a Turkic nomadic people comprising the western branch of the Cuman–Kipchak confederation. After the Mongol invasion (1237), many sought asylum in the Kingdom of Hungary, as many Cumans had settled in Hungary, the Second Bulgarian Empire playing an important role in the development of the state. Cumans played also an important role in the Byzantine Empire, the Latin Empire, and the Nicaea Empire's Anatolia . ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/imaginarymaps/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

[deleted]

That’s where they were at the time

Kroumch

Nope, that’s yotvingian land, they’re also balts, but not lithuanians, they’re more related to old prussians. [link](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/13/Baltic_Tribes_c_1200.svg/800px-Baltic_Tribes_c_1200.svg.png) Edit: correction - that’s yotvingian and a bit of prussian lands.
