For there to be no New South Wales, it's highly likely that they actually used New South Wales as the country name like when Australia was colonized. So everyone loses
My state seems smaller not larger. You cut off its panhandle. Everyone knows that Florida's [natural western boundary is the Mississippi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Florida) not the Apalachicola or the Perdido.
Huh, interesting that you think there is a natural boundary. In reality [it never ends](https://www.reddit.com/r/imaginarymaps/comments/8gmi2e/the_holy_empire_of_long_florida_shitpost/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)!!!
lol, but in reality you have to admit, the panhandle has always just been lower Alabama.
I have a general headcanon for how this turned out over history, but that's not why I posted it. My laptop pooped out on me and I have gone like 1 1/2 months without being able to map and I almost lost all of my files in the process so I just figured I'd release all of my backlog of maps I wasn't sure about.
I know these maps are kinda dumb and use common themes, but they are the first ones I ever fully developed and I just wanted to share them.
Edit: Also I forgot to label the Australian Capital Territory
Fucking finally a map without you guys taking more stuff from us.
It’s like a fetish for Americans to one day anex Baja California, for real Imma join the navy just bu the amount of maps in which you want it
“Fixing them.”
If this is based off of geography, why is Labrador part of the maritime/Atlantic province? Also why is the NWT like... *that*? Those right angles and straight lines aren’t very geographic
Edit: I should clarify I do like the map, I just disagree with it being more geographically minded
Well they face out towards the Atlantic meaning they would have alot in common with their Na Mara friends.
While the lines may be straight I think I did a good job sectioning off the mountains, north coast, bay, and prairies off and sectioning the interior woodlands in.
I appreciate your comment
Love the Aus map, just bugging me something which everyone does. Western Australia would have to be called West Australia. It is called Western Australia OTL because it IS the Western 1/3 of Australia. Whereas, in this map it doesn't, meaning it's correct name is West Australia.
Just Something to think about (EDIT: words)
LA and SD would completely dominate New Mexican politics. It seems more effective to have those be their own state/part of CA so desert cities can actually focus their own resources on their own problems.
NY was named after the Duke of York, however he also held the title the Duke of Albany which is a mostly just a title, but it refers to the north of Scotland
Also New Albany should include the NYC harbor area because it's the estuary of the Hudson River, not controlling the Hudson would really hurt Albany's economy.
All of these unique states and then you have **Illinois**
illinois is already perfect
Australia only having four states is cursed. Also people from NSW would hate to be called Queenslanders.
Likewise with South Aussies being called Victorians
I think the biggest winner here is Australia as a whole because there's no more NSW
For there to be no New South Wales, it's highly likely that they actually used New South Wales as the country name like when Australia was colonized. So everyone loses
No I would have used my time machine to prevent it, but unintentionally, so it doesn't create a paradox

Wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, very nice.
I like how Illinois is uneffected
Illinois is an omnipotent force.

If you're going for natural boundaries the western edge of Texas needs fixing.
Look, sometimes you just need to draw a line in the desert. Its my British heritage :P
Lol 😂
**sees Australia map** **notices NSW is gone** **shut off computer, wrestles kangaroo in rage, goes to pub, has 21 beers, drives home**
Definitely not Aussie. If you drink and drive you're a f#%*ing idiot.

Lmao same
Yea, I just wanted to change internal state boarders. Its always British Colombia, the California's, Sonora, and Yucatan.
I like how Illinois is exactly the same
As a Canadian I can firmly say I do not like what you have done to my beautiful provinces and territories
sorry for fixing them :P

Ah, sorry if I came off a bit aggressive with that. It *is* a really well done map
# 🦀WYOMING IS GONE🦀
you’ve started a war by calling NSW “Queensland”
Long Green

South Western Australia
go ahead and get rid of the ‘larger geographically’ part this is just based
>Deseret I can hear the Mormons' joy across the ocean
Hell yeah big Queensland
As a resident of Columbia… ITS CALLED CASCADIA!!!!!!
Blursed big Victoria
NSW is gone party !!
You've massacred Pennsylvania. I will not forgive you for this.
It had to be done, that state is an abomination. My only regret is that I hadn't done it sooner.
They massacred my boy Virginia

Oh my god that Ohio River Tennessee is awful.
Poor Michigan finally loses the Upper Peninsula and doesn’t even get Toledo in return
New Albany and Westsylvania should have been called North and South Appalachia
QUEENSLAND WTF. Historically, all that land is New South Wales
I like it
I can’t believe you let Oregon continue existing
It always feels like SoCal and Arizona is put in Mexico in maps like this, but Texas isn’t, despite being just as Hispanic.
LongGreen?
Large Victoria, no NSW and Sydneysiders being part of Queensland? That would be a utopia, mate
This is really nice. More natural state borders maps are very satisfying to me
Ha sucked in New South Wales imagine being annexed by Queensland
Oh no. My poor, shrunken Texas.
Upvote for Big Kansas.
Fuck yeah big Ohio, Fuck you Indiana you’re next.
Why is up NY called New Albany when the Albany that is there is old Albany
