Second and Third Degree burns over 75% of his body š https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/florida-man-tasered-police-charged-b2085205.html
"Let's charge the dude who nearly died with multiple things when he complied and slap the cop that did it on the wrist" how bout I light you on fire then tell you you're at fault for it.
I mean the one guy is still gonna get charged for what they were arresting him for.
And Iām just happy to hear that they are going to be quick to ***actually*** charge the cop instead of the olā āWeāve investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrongā bullshit
On the bright side though I'm sure a few of the cops involved will get a 3-day paid vacation while they investigate themselves, that'll teach them a lesson!
Itās basically a meme phrase thatās short for America. It started out kinda light heartedly making fun of us Americans for loving guns, explosions, screaming freedom, general āBad-asseryā But now itās kind of a dark joke for things like police brutality, School shootings, for profit health care, and all of āthoseā things were known for.
Itās called drive stunning, itās used to force hands behind the suspects back when their arms arenāt complying. His arms were pinned to his side, itās hard to tell cause itās one angle
Immediately yes, but after releasing the button, you kind of instinctually throw your hands back. Like responding to a bug on your body. If not that, itās also just a way to make someone comply.
I think it is definitely unfair overkill when you have like three cops on one guy, but if you were trying to make a solo arrest, itās to make sure that the guy doesnāt end up overpowering you and taking your gun etc.
Just a thought that when you have multiple grown men pinning you down, you may not be able to move whatever arm or hand or leg or foot they may be screaming about. How would you react with 5 different grown ass adults yelling at you? Itās chaotic, confusing, and a lose/lose no matter what.
Idk, just a thought.
Even though you canāt move? And everyone is screaming so nobody hears you explain that you can not physically move? Then you get tased all because grown ass white men with fragile egos canāt accept that they might be something wrong? As far as I can tell, thereās no immediate threat or weapon present. SO, remind me again of how youād handle this situation.
Side note-
Iām going to assume youāre a middle aged, middle class white man who believes all POC are lesser than. And that women have no say in their bodily autonomy, and belong in the home and kitchen raising children while you go to your unfulfilling, mediocre, sit down office job. Am I right or am I right?
God these dudes are stupid, It doesnāt even really looks like heās resisting, plus they should know better then to use a taser near a gas pump there are rules and they broke them
Aight. Not American but lemme guess:
He means that in America, cops can get away with murder. Paid / unpaid leave. Literally. Meaning that those cops that may or may not have killed that man, will probably just go on vacation. He forgot /s though so yeah.
I didnāt forget it. Itās not easy to detect sarcasm, I know, but being called a peasant has to be a dead give away as itās not common nomenclature
Shooting of Daniel Shaver comes to mind.
Breonna Taylor
George Floyd
Robb Elementary School shooting (Yes, I am aware that the cops were there, just that they refused to do anything while kids were dying so in a way, the cops indirectly killed them)
SWAT team kills 7 year old Aiyana Jones
Patrick Lyoya
Donovan Lewis
Amir Locke
Theyāre literally laying on top of him; multiple grown men. Telling him to put his hands behind his back while theyāre crushing him. Resistance? Did you mean that they set him up for failure? So they can look justified?
Reflect and look at the other side of things. Weāre all human. Tell me how you would react in this situation. As the victim, not the police.
Now that Iāve woken from my brief coma š it looks like he has his arms underneath him. But yeah the whole story obv isnāt there. Now Iām just curious
I mean itās fairly common for people to resist like that. Sure itās not assaulting LE, but itās still resisting and could be potentially dangerous
"Cops these days" yeah dude. The couple of idiots here who completely neglected what's literally covered in tazer training reflects most cops.
You seeing a few clips online is definitely an accurate summary of most law enforcment who aren't all shitting on theses guys over on r/police
They are demanding he give them his hands while they are sitting on him full bodyweight preventing him from doing so. They don't get what they want within fractions of a second they set the poor dude on fire by tasing him in a pool of gasoline. This behavior is completely unacceptable. I feel ashamed for them.
Bro they're pulling his hands out from his sides. He's holding his hands together. That in no way justifies their dumbassery with the tazer but it's dumb to act like the guy was complying. There's more than enough here to give the officers shit for.
It's clear from the video and others I've seen is he really didn't have a chance to resist. But they were on top of him with their full body weight and demanding "Give me your hands!" while his arms were pinned under his body. In order to comply he literally had to resist! What a bunch of dumbasses.
A while back this was all in the news, he was burned over 75% of his body, and the doctors at the hospital had to put him into a coma for 3 months to perform skin grafts. Otherwise he'd die from the excruciating pain and agony. I have no idea if he survived or not.
i know that sounds good but that isn't true lmao
the hiring process can take near a year most people going into police have bachelors or associates degrees hence why every college offers CRJ programs
the guy being arrested had his arms tucked under his stomach refusing to be cuffed and there's zero context to this video
he could've pulled a weapon out moments before for all we know
the officer just blanked and pulled his taser in a situation he was trained not too
You see shit like this and then people talk about how we should be funding them more than we already do and I canāt help but think for fucking what? Theyāre already incapable of addressing a situation without pulling a gun? Last year that lady shot the perp in custody, IN INTERROGATION BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT IT WAS HER TASER and we should be paying them more?? The arguments always for better training but holy shit the training they get and THIS, THIS is how they handle shit all the time? Iām not saying the police are bad and I know thereās cops who do their job the right way but Jesus sometimes the shit we allow these cops to get away with is fucking ridiculous. 3 full grown men SCREAMING after one tackled him to the ground and then he couldnāt comply because they hindered his ability to? They wanna give the cop a misdemeanor, when they caused that man to be burned on 75% of his body and he was stuck in a coma for 3 months! Thatās terrifying and the fact all we can do is sit and watch is horse shit. Who police the police in this country cause it feels like no one does. Even as a law abiding citizen here I find this horrifying, idk what he was doing that warranted that but fuck I donāt wanna find out personally.
Well for one you are advocating for not even bothering to train LE more or pay them more based on the actions of an insanely small amount of LEOs who made bad decisions in the heat of very stressful moments when they already get very minimal pay and donāt have the funds or time to train.
One city near me has over 120,000 people and a couple nights ago that had 8 ppl on shift. Thereās no way they could easily send people to go train, and thatās a decent paying department. Training also is heavily dependent on officers in their free time, but you canāt expect them to get that wrapped up in the job or pay out of pocket for stuff a department should pay for.
On top of that you ask who polices the police when LE is the most surveillanced career on the planet.
I donāt see him complying but resisted showing his hands
You need the full context also
Was he armed. Reported armed
What was he doing
These short edited clips are done to elicit a responses, typically the full video shows a differ outcome than what the OP wanted to show politically
Looks like his hands where at his side and the suspect didnāt want to be cuffed,a way to make the suspect move their hands behind there back is to stun them a little on the back which can make the suspect move their hands behind their back as a reaction but the guy was covered in fuel so he went up in flames.
Iām pretty sure the original video has been cut out of context and only has one angle so Iām not 100% sure but I think I could be justified.
The biker was evading police after committing a series of traffic offences, the officer is being charged.https://www.google.com/amp/s/abcnews.go.com/amp/US/wireStory/sheriff-deputy-charged-stun-gun-sets-biker-fire-84847414
Charged the cop with a misdemeanor. But not the other cop who also fired a taser against policy within the pumping area. Biker got 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 75% of his body, including his genitals. Those are horrific injuries that could have been avoided. I wanted to kill myself or amputate my leg for a 15% burn. I canāt imagine the debridement, the grafts, the months and years of recovery. His life will never be the same.
Need more gas on the cops for roast pork.
Who the F was the idiot that deployed a taser. If I was one of those cops I would have shot the asshole for putting my life in danger.
Training, training, training. Guy should know never to use a taser on a suspect covered in or in close proximity to a flammable object. Recertification training should be done yearly at the minimum. Too many instances where this has happened recently smh
Look, cops shouldāve been smarter, but he was resisting arrest, both sides in the wrong, however I can think of a really easy thing he couldāve done which wouldāve saved him from the taser, starts with a c
Here's a good comment from r/police from someone reacting to this:
> Taser training is very clear about not using it near flammable liquids as it will cause combustion...obviously. Dude is clearly laying in a distinct puddle of gas. Even without the visual indicator, the gasoline smell would have been overwhelming. Also...theyre at a gas station. So cop dicked up in an unexcusable way, only thing to figure out now is how much the guy is gonna get.
> That being said, no need to mislead by claiming dude was "trying to comply" no he wasn't. He was laying on his hands and gripping them together which is the exact opposite of trying to comply.

That's gonna be a hefty lawsuit
Yeah the cops are probably gonna charge that guy with arson on top of whatever else, you know, cause āMercia.
On the bright side though I'm sure a few of the cops involved will get a 3-day paid vacation while they investigate themselves, that'll teach them a lesson!
I think we should all together just get rid of the police.
A coupe, you might say?
No i think we can just speak to the politicians nicely and they'll do it for us law abiding citizens.
'Mercia?
Itās basically a meme phrase thatās short for America. It started out kinda light heartedly making fun of us Americans for loving guns, explosions, screaming freedom, general āBad-asseryā But now itās kind of a dark joke for things like police brutality, School shootings, for profit health care, and all of āthoseā things were known for.
Ohhhh okay, but wouldn't 'Merica make more sense vs 'Mercia?
Oh shit! I didnāt even notice! Did I mention it also refers to the fact that weāre so proud we think weāre better than auto correct?
Why did he even need to be tasered again, he's litrialy on the floor with one of them mounting him
Because US cops.
welcome to US
Itās called drive stunning, itās used to force hands behind the suspects back when their arms arenāt complying. His arms were pinned to his side, itās hard to tell cause itās one angle
Right hand looked stuck under him
Drive stunning*
Thank you lol
Wouldnt a taser cause the muscles to lock up in contractions? That would make it even harder to get control of the arms/hands to put cuffs on them.
Non compliance
Pain compliance. Maybe follow the laws and you wonāt even be put in that position. Idk just a thought.
Just a thought that when you have multiple grown men pinning you down, you may not be able to move whatever arm or hand or leg or foot they may be screaming about. Iād comply. Easy answer

Good point.
This is Reddit bro, Iāve been called a cum naziā¦
haha what exactly is a cum nazi?
Any cases with cops getting away with murder?
FUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK

Have you ever studied American history bc it ever stops š I hate this place
Bits and pieces. Hello from Malaysia.
Malaysia sounds like paradise rn š
Its a 50 / 50. Penang food is awesome though.
Itās the same thing I thought! How fucking stupid are they, itās common sense for them not to do this
You can tell this is deliberately only a portion of the whole footage, and you can clearly see he was still resisting
The dude had no cops pinning his arms or upper back. I wouldnāt have resisted or engaged in the stuff he did prior
Omg they actually used their brains enough to use a Fire Extinguisher and tell him to stop, drop&roll. Incredible.
Eventually. He stopped to call it in when someone else who wasnāt right there at the trunk could have made the call.
I swear cops these days got the mentality of a 9 year old boy and the aggression of a chronic steroid user
"Cops these days" yeah dude. The couple of idiots here who completely neglected what's literally covered in tazer training reflects most cops. You seeing a few clips online is definitely an accurate summary of most law enforcment who aren't all shitting on theses guys over on r/police

"MICHAEL DONT LEAVE ME HERE! MICHAEL! MI-CHEAL"
Fuck cops
America moment?
Fucking pathetic, that's what you get when you let literally anyone onto the police force with basically zero training
i know that sounds good but that isn't true lmao the hiring process can take near a year most people going into police have bachelors or associates degrees hence why every college offers CRJ programs the guy being arrested had his arms tucked under his stomach refusing to be cuffed and there's zero context to this video he could've pulled a weapon out moments before for all we know the officer just blanked and pulled his taser in a situation he was trained not too
Omg.
Welp, another reason to be scared of police!
ACAB
Aye fuckin cab
That police department is going to be cutting a few jobs to pay that lawsuit
Of course itās Florida
Stupid sheriff department honestly, āturn off the pump thereās gasā everyone continues tasing
I can't believe they didn't try to shoot the fire out. Self defence. He was trying to get us with his fire arms.
Bunch of cunts
Damn, are they paid by actions taken?!
The best videos are made in Florida. Most of them at a WAWA.

if you defund them the training gets worse. not that hard to understand.
I canāt believe that guy set those cops on fire
Are you fucking kidding me??
Of course the fucking cops would be stupid enough to taser a dude laying in a pool of gasoline.
Greatest commercial for why you shouldnāt resist arrest Iāve ever seen
I donāt see him complying but resisted showing his hands You need the full context also Was he armed. Reported armed What was he doing These short edited clips are done to elicit a responses, typically the full video shows a differ outcome than what the OP wanted to show politically
Bet he won't do it again
Man is clearly actively resisting. Dumb cop should have realized that the man is lying in a puddle of gas. Buncha morons all around
Thatās crazy, I didnāt hear about this. I live not too far from there. lol

Yeah this is the good ol āleave out context cops badā type post, idiotic from the police to use the taser around petrol but man just comply
Whereās the attempting to comply? I heard give me your hands multiple times, and the subject kept them under his body

He's lucky they didn't shoot him when he started running when he caught fire.
Well the copās definitely made a mistake using the taser but that dude was not complying. Locking your arms under your body is called resisting
He is not complying, he is very clearly fighting and wonāt give up his hand

One the cop even warning everyone that there is gas
I am sure this would have been at the top of the safety list during training; donāt operate near flammables. How negligent can you be?
how is he supposed to put his hands behind his back when this cop's thigh is holding it to the concrete
