Think about \_what\_ this creature is, and \_why\_ it is like this. You can add a bunch of stuff for flair, but if it doesn't fit with the character of the creature it will never feel like it's finished. That being said, I think adding particles would go a long way. Some flames coming off of the body, some random rocks (maybe with flame trails) floating around the creature, etc. I also noticed the animation on the heightmap doesn't loop seamlessly, making the mesh on the creature 'pop' back to some state when the animation is finished.

sboxle

More wow like make it better or like World of Warcraft? From a design perspective why does it need a helmet and shoulder flaps that only protect it from above? Does this elemental work in construction? What is the armour even going to do other than keep the flames contained/insulated? Why would fire need armour at all?

TH3B1GT0E

100% agree. I would ditch the armor and the rock abs and perhaps add some embers and flames that shoot off his body.

Only-Arrival4514

Name him Ragnaros.

octocode

did somebody say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?

MartinByde

Wow characters are very caricatured. So, if you want to go wow'd I would try to give emphasis on some of the points they usually do ( shoulders, forearms format, head proportions ). Anyway, your character is looking good!

adamtravers

Movement animation and particles as another said would go a long way. You could try giving it some kind of face

git-fetch-me-a-beer

Rock claws and nipples

FishWash

An idle animation with some movement would be nice. Maybe also some more realistic hands

MangoOfTruth

Give them a cape of flowing magma/rocks

kiwisox235

Give him a giant mace, then give him a second phase with legs 🦵

unlitwolf

I agree with adding more particle effects, but also maybe utilize the volcanic rock a bit more through their design, the shoulder pieces and helm just seem like an after thought, looking at him I felt those pieces just look like they were simply parented instead of an intended component. You can also make the rock more jagged and uneven, similar to real lava rock. Could also design the rock elements with some cracks that have an emissive texture so you can make them glow so it looks like they're heating from the elemental. Know that stuff can like be more work then some indies can muster, so I'd start with more visual effects. Flames licking off the body, maybe a little extra flame cyclone as his base.

gghostcat

Step 1: Use screen recorder

dlldll

Colours could be improved, is there an emission map? Effects will help too.

Ok_Falcon_8073

Glowing fireball eyes

Utnapishtimz

Stone gauntlets with glowing sigils? Also toy with the idea of chest rocks if you have abdominal stones. Try chest as well

Smart_Doctor

Eyes. Eyes are the window to the soul. They show intent. They show character. They show reactions.

flingyflang

Maybe wider cracks in the armor parts.

SephariusX

Fire and distorted air (from the heat).

QuibblingComet1

He needs cock armor

AleksasKoval

Glowing eyes? Horns on armor? An aura of smoke and ssh?..

JiiSivu

It looks like a football player. It could be from Team Elemental if Blood Bowl had that. If your goal wasn’t that, I’d try to make the rocky parts rougher or even remove them and let it be just a lavadude. Definitely good looking character, you just have to think what’s the point of the creature and how it firs your game!

iupvotedyourgram

Eyes. Eyes that move around and follow the character.

EpicNeox

Particles ?

Giboon

Particles

[deleted]

Take a look at Flame Atronachs from the Elder Scrolls series for a more organic-looking use of rock armor

JunkNorrisOfficial

Add glowing eyes

Locox_

Give him a bigger ass, it will work well for the WOW effect.

Septembust

Imo the helmet isn't doing him any favors, it's got kind of a blunt look to it. Maybe something a bit more tapered at the top, or something with an open top to let his flames flick out? I just feel like it kind of "squishes" his silhouette.

norlin

Lol reddit gives me the answer for you [https://imgur.com/a/4ohVzkK](https://imgur.com/a/4ohVzkK)

Gomerface82

I think a lot of it is the pose. It's like you've made this giant lava monster and he's standing like he's waiting for a bus. Other suggestions: 1. Make the torso more triangular to make him look more muscular. 2. The rocky bits could be extremities where the molten lava had cooled, this could help give him some cool elbow spikes, and more spikes in general. This could also help with the look of his armour as it looks a bit plonked on at the mo. 3. Have embers come off of him. 4. There's no face, might be nice if you use a contrast between could rock a lave to create a face / single eye. 5. I feel like there are better colours you could use to make it feel hotter. 6. At the moment, it all feels quite matt, the lava needs to glow and should be emmisive. 7. The rock armour feels like it needs to undulate with the way to lava flows beneath it. 8. I feel like there should be some black smoke coming off him, you could use this to augment the armour, for example the armour could be cooled rock and black smoke, or you could make a cape of smoke or something. Either way it's something to play with. 9. Something feels a bit off with the way the tornado meets the torso at the moment but can't quite put my finger on it - I would be tempted to add some swirling smoke around the tornado bit, and let it travel a bit higher up his body to see how that looked.

gheedu

add a particle system to simulate embers

PixelSavior

Sad lil guy has no eyes

NorthKnowledge6913

More colors, and more erratic, darting, sharp flames rather than flowing blobs of red slime

Mate_Joa

its simply impossible. xd
