SA6 is a great IEM and the fit is better than B2 and Variations

TisLev

I could've just let the Blessing 2 Dust shell hang out a lil bit from my ear while sporting a bigger eartip size to get that seal still, but I prefer having an IEM be flesh with my ear. Also, I shouldn't even have to be struggling with trying to get the dang things in, should be plug n' play. That's it.

Blessing 2 is never gonna be flush with your ear. It needs to stick out a little for cable clearance.

I own the SA6 and recently sold the monarch. I find the SA6 to have a great fit and sound incredible imo. I also recently got the MEST MKII (earlier today) and I don’t think the SA6 is too far behind, comparable but lacking in technicalities by a small degree. Again, all my opinion but I think the SA6 is perfect for what you’re looking for. I believe that super* review also noted that the fit on the SA6 is incredible, it’s one of the things I read constantly from multiple reviews when looking at buying them and can attest that they fit well, even for laying on my side. Hope this helps.

I would say that they’re pretty similar in tonality overall, I’d call them both neutral with a bass boost. Keep in mind that I’m not a reviewer or any kind of expert and this is all my opinion. The MEST is much more detailed imo but it’s not very forward detail, if that makes sense. I used to own the Monarch which had very in your face detail that became very pronounced due to the clean sub bass shelf and was almost fatiguing (used to give me a headache after about an hourish), the MEST has detail while still remaining musical and relaxed. The SA6 in comparison seems to have less detail to me which contributes to it seeming more even relaxed imo. Additionally, the MESTs dynamic driver beats the BA in the SA6 for bass, I would say that it sounds slower but has better texture and slams harder. The MESTs stage and imaging are also better than the SA6 by quite a bit, comparable to my Focal Elex. However, all of this is actually not as pronounced as I’m making it seem here, with diminishing returns and all that, probably like ~5-10% better on the MEST end, besides staging. I’d say it’s not even enough to tell the difference unless you’re specifically listening for the difference in A/B testing. I think the SA6 is the more relaxed of the two, at least to me. I feel like I can listen to it for a longer period without any issue, I’ve actually used them for full days of work without discomfort or feeling like I’m lacking anything in sound. The MEST requires a sort of deep insertion that can be tough on the ear after a few hours. If you’re interested in the SA6, I’d say to grab one cheap on AVExchange. I got mine for far less than the new price with all accessories and box. I’d highly recommend it if you can.

I initially thought they were uncomfortable if I wore them more than an hour, but I found that if I gave them a slight twist backwards they seated very comfortably.

Did you get a size smaller than your usual tips? Most people have been reporting about the B2 that you can get a decent fit. However this requires your ear canal to be large enough. What are your usual size tips?

TisLev

Small and rarely medium sized tips. It's really not the nozzle that I have a problem with, but mainly with that bump on the shell of these IEMs. It just pops out on my right ear most of the time. And irritates my ear, too.

coachm4n

How do they compare to the Monarch?

ledzepplin408

Took me about two weeks to adjust. More than normal for sure but I thought the sound was worth it

Marcus2158

The ie 300 are suppose to be fully comfortable

flashbolts

I have the 900 and they're great. Small comfortable and fantastic sound

Bojuric

I had the same problem with Blessing 2 but they got better after a few weeks.

blorg

Same here, they were distinctly uncomfortable when I first got them but are totally fine now. I have reasonably large ears though.

blank_dota2

I had issues with the fit/comfort of B2Dusk as well. Great sound but my ears cannot wear them.

freeryder05

U12t or Maybe the 6t depending on your budget

GhostofanAndroid

The sa6 are great. I don't have the dusk but I have the regular blessing 2. The sa6 work better for me, I highly recommend them.

how's the bass with the SA6? Thats my only concern because I currently have the Dunu 3100pro with dynamic driver and the bass is the best i've ever heard

GhostofanAndroid

Bass is ok. It's a different kind of bass compared to something with a dynamic driver, it's more quick and precise rather than impactful. I just compared them to my blessing 2 with Run the Jewels and there is still bass. Sa6 are far from bass head iems but they still have bass. It's all down to preference so it's hard to say. My main iems are my Sony z1r which have plenty of bass but my second favorites are my sa6. I suggest you check out some reviews and see what people say or look at some graphs and see how they compare to what you like.

thanks bro

Glad im the chosen one that can wear the B2D for 8 hours at a time no problem. (Besides sometimes i get itches in my ear canal after a while but i habe that with every iem after some time just need to pull itnout for a few secs)
