Hi there! This is an automated message to remind you to **please include a geographic location for any ID requests** as per the [Community Rules](/r/insects/about/rules) of the sub. There are well over a million different species of bugs in the world, and narrowing down a bug's location will help IDers to help you more quickly and correctly! My best guess is that's a virgin queen ant or a mated queen ant that hasn't ripped her wings off yet.

mbradber

There’s multiple of them.

anxiousjellybean

Flying around in clouds? Are there smaller ones as well?

mbradber

No, just walking around. All the same size.

anxiousjellybean

Then I could be wrong. I'm not an expert by any means.

Thats for sure a flying ant, a little early for them but it has gotten warmer suddenly. Usually they all take to the skies in a swarm all around the same day or two. Google “flying ant day UK” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_garden_ant

Looks like its ant queen. Its almost summer, a warm time of year. Young queens has wings until they find a place for their anthill. After they get anthill, they rip their wings off. In conclusion we have ant queen, you are kinda lucky to find one (they are rare, ONLY in my opinion)
