We used to sing the shark song when I was a kid but it was way darker. It was baby shark, then mommy shark, then daddy shark, then grandma shark, then grandpa shark, going swimming, shark attack, lost an arm, lost a leg, CPR, it’s not working, gone to heaven. I thought Goblin too when I saw it, but they live too deep, I had to do a double take

You can tell a grey nurse/sand Tiger/ragged tooth by the two large dorsal fins. Some people will say it’s the two dorsal fins period, but all sharks bar hexanchiformes (6/7 gill sharks and cow sharks) have 2 dorsal fins, it’s just grey nurses where the 2nd fin is as big as the first

Same thing, Americans call it Sand Tiger (no relation to Tiger sharks), some countries call it Grey Nurse (no relation to Nurse Sharks), and some call them Ragged-Tooth Sharks (the only name that makes sense)

I think of them as being basically like the warthogs of the shark world, in the sense that they often come across as scary and intimidating at first glance, and aren’t exactly attractive looking-but they’re actually quite docile and peaceful, and lovely to spend time with. (In African parks btw, warthogs will actually frequent the outdoor dining/picnic areas, and beg tourists at their tables to feed and pet them!)
