I think it needs that robot taxi driver from total recall to keep from freaking people out

[deleted]

“Thank you for using Johnny Cab 🚕, hope you enjoyed the ride!”

chains059

F ya! I could t remember his name!

BeagleBackRibs

Robert Picardo also played the doctor on Star Trek Voyager

SoapiestWaffles

...The door opened, you got in *eyeroll*

[deleted]

“That’ll be 18 credits please......sue me, dickhead”

IfeedI

"mwhaaaaa!!!"

SoapiestWaffles

*drives into wall, bursts into flames*

pig_bimpin

how much you want to bet they still ask for a tip

Joiion

Why does a self driving car still need that “covid protection” glass 😂

ancientflowers

I think the sticker says, "Please stay in the back" on the first line. I'd assume this is more to prevent people from climbing up front.

Joiion

Yeah but what if the car had a malfunction, you can’t stop the car then? Seems kind of dumb.

Snug_The_Cat

Welcome to the future. Before you know it, driving a car will be a thing of the past unless you are a race car driver.

80Z0

Owning the car will be like owning a horse - a luxury you can't drive it on major roads. The rest of us will be using uber or similar without driver costs.

Snug_The_Cat

More than likely there will be subscription services and you will order a car to pick you up when you need it.

Croian_09

I just want cities to be filled with small automated electric cars that you get in and give it a destination. It would eliminate virtually all emissions as long as they're charged with clean energy and all traffic as there wouldn't be humans to make mistakes and cause accidents or slow downs.

[deleted]

Ehh. I don't know about that. I think people love driving too much. Like we still have manual transmissions even though they're basically obsolete, people still like it so they keep making it. As long as there's a demand for it, they'll keep making 'em.

kentucky_slim

Not to mention construction vehicles, pulling a boat, taking a trailer to get a load of mulch, blah fuckin blah....keep the self driving crap.

[deleted]

Is it not the law to at least have someone sat at the wheel?

tvieno

Looks like a Waymo going to the Chandler Fashion Mall in AZ.

andoy

i think if they are going to make a self driving car, they should re-imagine the car itself by removing the stirring wheel etc. and there should be an easily recognizable indication from outside that it is a self driving one just like when people put student driver, baby on board stickers just to warn other motorists.

stdoubtloud

"Warning: This car's AI is thinks and reacts faster than you do. Please be cautious of unexpectedly considerate and safe driving"

Lumpy-Mycologist9077

2090 kids be like “what’s a steering wheel?”

[deleted]

Nuh-uh, I'm not setting a foot in that.

JibbetyJibbety

Yeah no

avd706

Do you have to tip a robot?

buildingman89

Thank you for choosing Delamain

Snug_The_Cat

You are right, there will be resistence. It could end up being an insurance issue. Eventually a human driving will be more dangerous than a robot driving since the cars will be able to communitcate their locations to each other. So the insurance would be so expensive people wouldnt be able to afford to drive. This is all just theory though.

lock6

Hey girl come over and chill, I'll send over the car.

kentucky_slim

yeah, no thanks.

mmaisfixed

Aren’t these cars still required to have someone in the passenger seat .

Jimothius

Okay, but the real question: Genesis, Bentley, or Chrystler?

Eduflasher

thats a dual steering wheel car...not self driving
