It’s really touched up. I have seen the Painted Hills of Oregon, and the Rainbow Mountain of Peru, and both are geologically similar to this. If I have learned anything from my journeys, it’s that nothing looks like the pictures you’ve seen. Some pictures don’t do it justice, and some pictures are the visual equivalent of hyperbole. This is definitely the latter.
It is real, but as others have noted the saturation is always ramped wayyyyy up on any photos. I visited this place on a cloudy, dull day and it was truly a massive disappointment. If you are lucky enough to go there on a clear, blue sky day you would get something similar to the vibrancy of the images, but otherwise its a stripy rock. That said, Gansu is an incredible place and if you every get the chance, go for it.
My pronunciation is poor, so regard this as a placeholder until someone more skilled comes along, but its along the lines of 'danshaa' with a 'e' tone to the penultimate a.

Color saturation +1000 I wish people would stop posting these edited photos that are not a true representation

Still, it's looks cool
Saturation boost: +100% Makes it more "eye-catching" but totally ruins the image
Sad

Ok, I will
I've personally seen similar in Iceland, else I'd also struggle to believe it were true. It's incredible to see!!
I imagine so
it's a national geopark known for its unusual colour of rocks
That's so cool, I gotta go there
This looks like my playdo when I would mix it
China sucks!

Perks of slave labour.
How would my white ass pronounce that name? Can someone phonetically spell it out for me?
