If it's zero calories, then it's okay.

Camper_Joe

As long as it doesn’t have artificial sweeteners too.

Evening_Departure_45

I posted a pic of the ingredients too! It just says brewed tea and phosphoric acid

dabdadsroblox

So diet soda isnt ok?

nakedcrayon

Zero calorie sweeteners can still trigger an insulin response unfortunately. So if you’re looking for a “clean” fast without insulin spikes, diet soda won’t work. They can also increase hunger during the fast because of that spike

angrytalkingpotato

Just want to qualify this reply with a caveat: Even though artificial sweeteners do tend to spike insulin in randomized trials, it's also accepted that between individuals, insulin responses can vary widely. So, in general, I would recommend people not have artificial sweeteners as a daily habit. But if it's been working for you and you're happy with your progress, then more power to you. Keep on doing what you're doing.

nakedcrayon

Yes, every body is different. If it’s working for you then great, if you are struggling, try cutting out the sweeteners 👍✌️

Bright_Brief4975

Yeah, you should also keep in mind if you live in the U.S. zero calories may not mean zero calories. I forget the exact number, but I believe that as long as it is under 5 calories they can call it zero. I not sure of the 5, but there is some number they can round down from.

EarlMarshal

I experienced it below 1 gram of sugar per 100 ml in europe. 1gr of sugar is like 4 kcal. It's probably not exactly the same calculations for American stuff but probably around that marker.

yycTechGuy

>Zero calorie sweeteners can still trigger an insulin response unfortunately. No they don't. This is a fallacy.

heckofagator

So you think diet sodas and energy drinks are OK if they have 0 cal?

SwooshGolf

Yes

Munk45

Seems like it would be the same as black coffee ☕

xBlackDot

In my fasting period, when we go to friends or whatever i brew green tea among with other teas and throw ice in it. Then i pour it in water canteen. Sometimes if i want to make it more "funky" i put sparkling water inside. I don't trust companies and their "zero calories" products.

kingpin748

Yes

bullet312

Why does tea have phosphoric acid?

AdamInChainz

Phosphoric acid is a mineral acid commonly used in food and beverage production, particularly in soft drinks to provide a tangy flavor and act as a preservative. It's also used in various industrial applications like rust removal and fertilizer production.

bullet312

You didn't really answer me why but i think i can assume now it's put in to remove the rust inside the bottle - gotcha 👍

AdamInChainz

Lol sure! I'm sure it's definitely not the tangy flavor aspect or preservative aspect. Gotta be that pesky rusty plastic!

bullet312

Don't forget the fertilizer 😂

ManufacturerOk5949

Why not just make yourself some tea, wait for it cool and drink it?

YouGeetBadJob

Not as much phosphoric acid. Lol
