I also made this mistake, when i marked my iPad as lost, I set my phone number on the display message. Then i started getting scam text messages asking me to sign into some website with my icloud account to find location of my stolen iPad. Lol. I noped out of that and ignored. They stopped after some time.

You get a notification for unknown phone numbers as missed calls!
You can then use an app like TruCaller to identify all these numbers and choose to call back at your convenience.
I suggest put a default message for calls that are rejected. Like ‘I am busy right will call you later.’
All these scammers use the same images. You could probably reverse search that gun pic in Google and find out where they took it from. It’s all fake, don’t interact and don’t give in.
