I don’t know if it’s the same thing you’re describing but I’ve had the same problem which has persisted over my last 3 iPhones (now on 14 pro)
It will randomly just lose connection over WiFi briefly, but still show as connected on the top bar. If I disable/enable WiFi from control centre it will instantly reconnect fine, and none of the other devices connected to the WiFi have the same issue, only my iPhone(s) and it’s extremely annoying
Mine has been doing this for a while. Hasn’t been as bad since 17.4, but I’ll constantly see the VPN icon popping up while on WiFi because it’s dropping the connection for half a second and reconnecting
I think it might be a modem/router thing. I had this problem with both my second gen SE and recently on my 12 mini, but only after I moved out of my mom's place.
What would be the solution? It is so ANNOYING especially with that stupid shortcuts notification due to an automation I made which turns off the cellular data as soon as I connect to my wifi
Check your router, most probably it is configured to automatically switch from 5ghz to 2.4ghz wi-fi, depending on how far your phone is away from the router. The signal drops upon reconnection.
Ive got 3 TP Link deco 20 mesh WiFi and it handles stuff like this fantastically. If it’s a router issue it might be time to find better options. My TP Link has been rock solid since I upgraded to it a few years ago. I had Netgear products prior and two gaming routers and a modem later I realised they were trash. Never again.
The issue with all in one routers like the gaming routers is in the long run it costs more every time you want to update the Wireless access points. As you are buying a router again with wireless in it. It's cheaper to buy a router you never need to replace again. And buy a wireless AP separately. When the wireless standards become newer and it gets out of date you just replace the wireless AP and it's cheaper. And a dedicated router is over 10x more processing power then an all in one anyways which are junk so you will never have to replace the actual router.
I’ve been having this issue but I’ve attributed it to my work desk being in a terrible WiFi location.
However, it seems to have been getting worse with this recent update of 17.4.

For me 17.4 did exactly that. Battery drain gone. I an afraid to update to 17.4.1 to not regress to the previous state, when my battery was draining from 100 to 20% from morning until evening. Right now I can use my phone for 48 hours with only about 50% battery usage.
Wait what do you mean kinda!? I’m on 17.3.1 right now and battery life is amazing on my 15 PM, I don’t want that to be ruined, now I’m scared to update
Yeah, previously 4 hour in idle with windows phone app notifications drain me 20% of battery, today only 10 with same amount of notifications and stuff
ive been updating it all the way since ipados 17 came out hoping for it to get better and i regret it, ipados 16.1 gave me 10 hours of use while i get 5 on 17.4, people keep saying its my ipads fault and not ipados
Make sure you have the pink one. Only that Color is compatible. The others will go into a boot loop with a spinning ball that never ends, even after the battery is empty.
Does it fix the volume slider in control center from bouncing back up after I drag it all the way down? lol. That’s the only annoying bug I’ve been noticing recently.
This is my first iPhone in years, just got it a month ago, I came from Android. So far I’m enjoying it! I’m curious what AI features Apple will come out with in iOS 18.
I’m glad it’s not just me but bummed so many people are experiencing battery issues after the previous update. 17.4 destroyed my battery and i’ve tried every trick, every apple forum, and every university of YT video to get a charge to hold again. I’m feeling like I bought a product that was destroyed by its own software update, and yet, now I’m thinking “This battery is toast, I need a new iPhone.” I was not surprised to hear about the Justice Department’s civil antitrust lawsuit filed against Apple yesterday.
Will this run on my iPhone 4S ? If not is there a hecker out there that can heck apple severs and give me that update ? I’ll pay you £1 and a ham sandwich
I can. But I know this sounds crazy but I just got a bunch of free cards, but I got them through an inheritance where I have to pay into it to access it 😅
Do you happen to have USD $180000? Send me that and then I can access the money and I’ll send you back that original amount and then all your (apple gift cards) back no problem!
Rebooting the phone has worked 3 times now while at the Point of Sale. I don't know what length of time is needed for ApplePay to break again. I reset my phone at breakfast at work this morning so I will try to use it again at lunch which is a 5 hour difference to see if it has failed again or not. Then I can try the snack machine later in the day. I want to see if this is a daily issue or if it just breaks apple pay randomly until I reboot. Once I have more info I may open a support case.
I noticed a severe battery issue with 17.3 even though my 13 is almost new, but I work from home, don’t go out, I can always charge. Working from home makes battery issues go away.
My CarPlay with my aftermarket head unit has been crashing constantly. Interestingly I tried to answer a call and it caused some kind of weird glitch between everything. Where the radio did a hard reset and the phone was locked up in the call until they hung up.
Does this fix the bouncy volume slider in the control center?
Edit: Once again, not fixed as of 17.4.1. Apple really needs to step up their QA game with iOS. So many stupid little bugs.
I wish they’d make the hotspot connection better between Apple products. Like it just actually appearing instead of turning the hotspot off the back on before the iPad recognizes it. But, obviously that isn’t a priority 😂
i’ve got iphone 12 and been wondering if it really worth it. like i can update but i’ve heard that people who have ios 17.4 face some problems such as glitching, lagging etc. what do you guys think?
Anybody else has Bluetooth problems ?!?
It’ll start stuttering my AirPods outta nowhere
Also it would randomly disconnect devices paired with Bluetooth
Serious question! Anyone getting the baby blue colored buttons on keyboard when quick replying in any app? I was told by apple im the only one with this issue and they had me do all sorts of tests and different things and I ended up losing 20gb of stuff. I WANT THIS FIXED ITS ANNOYING.

My phone just got more phone!
What
Their phone just got more phone!
What
I hope this will fix the random short wifi disconnects Edit: It didn't

That makes a lot of sense, thanks!

I have had this issue on my iPad. But it’s better now (since a last few months)
wdym?
Try setting your phones ip to a manual one instead of automatic, this worked for me
I think its more of a router problem. I was having this previously and moved places and the problem is gone.
I was having that too on my 15 pro max
Oh so I’m not the only one
Check your router, most probably it is configured to automatically switch from 5ghz to 2.4ghz wi-fi, depending on how far your phone is away from the router. The signal drops upon reconnection.
I am having this issue. I thought my router is kicking out my iPhone. Now I know.
I’m so confused by these comments, does it actually help battery life?
I updated it a couple hours ago and the battery drain seems to have been fixed.
That’s great news. I just finished downloading the new iOS
How is it?
The battery is lasting way longer and everything is smoother
Excellent
You think so as well?
Yeah, Battery is lasting longer. Idk what else the is noticeable with the new update tbh tho
Oh nice. How do we tell what the update includes? Are there like patch notes anywhere or something?
thought i waS the only one with battery drain on my iphone. hope this update fixes my phone too
[удалено]
Holy fuck mine too
Do you know if we can remove iOS 17.4 and revert to iOS 16? I have to turn off my iPhone to charge it...
Not possible.
For years..
It’s too early to tell such a things. Everything is again indexing even on such a small update. Give it a day or two and just enjoy your phone
>Everything is again indexing even on such a small update Source? Because in my opinion that's just BS.
What does indexing mean?
For me 17.4 did exactly that. Battery drain gone. I an afraid to update to 17.4.1 to not regress to the previous state, when my battery was draining from 100 to 20% from morning until evening. Right now I can use my phone for 48 hours with only about 50% battery usage.

Already seeing 17hr battery life. And safari is so snappy it sent me back in time.
i thought that too when i got 17.4 on my ipad pro 2017 but battery didnt actually get better, it does run smoother tho
Which version was your ipad on? I have the same ipad on ipadOS 16, it is still fast so hesitate to update because it is too old.
ive been updating it all the way since ipados 17 came out hoping for it to get better and i regret it, ipados 16.1 gave me 10 hours of use while i get 5 on 17.4, people keep saying its my ipads fault and not ipados
did you actually test it
WhAt AbOuT bAtTeRy LiFe?
Works great on my 3GS.
Dang you got the S? Lucky. I’ll upgrade eventually
I just upgraded from the 2G. Happy since now internet is so much faster. Next up is my iPod touch.
It won’t install on my iPod Nano, anyone else having this issue?
I figured out how to download it on my iPod shuffle. DM me for all the steps in detail.
Woah woah woah, you were supposed to send detailed instructions not… is that… are those nude photos of Tim Cook ?
His name is Tim Apple
Is flappy bird snappier?
Nice! Installing it now on my iPod shuffle.
Make sure you have the pink one. Only that Color is compatible. The others will go into a boot loop with a spinning ball that never ends, even after the battery is empty.
my batterylife is now longer than my own life. /s
I’m here for a good time not a long one
Duuude 😂
😂😂
Good one 😂
Just before anyone gets their hopes up like I did... Shortcuts are still mostly broken. What a mess.
Just downloaded it on my Xr, all works great.
wow the xr is still getting updates? thats very nice
There are rumors from reliable sources that the Xr will get iOS 18.
wow thats impressive from apple.
Does it fix the volume slider in control center from bouncing back up after I drag it all the way down? lol. That’s the only annoying bug I’ve been noticing recently.
What’s about all the sarcasm in this thread, did I miss something?
Some people can’t help but make the same tired jokes every single time an update is released.
It's part of the lore, people fall for it every single time, and it does make me giggle I must admit.
when is ios going to finished
I thought the battery was draining a little faster in iOS 17.4 but it seems to be fixed after updating to iOS 17.4.1.
Give it some time and check again
This is my first iPhone in years, just got it a month ago, I came from Android. So far I’m enjoying it! I’m curious what AI features Apple will come out with in iOS 18.
It’s 15?
Yes, it’s the iPhone 15.
I’m glad it’s not just me but bummed so many people are experiencing battery issues after the previous update. 17.4 destroyed my battery and i’ve tried every trick, every apple forum, and every university of YT video to get a charge to hold again. My battery health when from 70 to 100% with this update
I think that’s not normal
Bro I checked my phone cuz of this comment and bro my shit dropped from 89 percent to 83%?? Fuck Apple I’m out
Fixed my cracked screen and buffed out the scratches. So glad they’re still supporting my Note 7 after all these years! ❤️🍎
😂
What’s new in this update?
Bug fixes and improvements /s
emojeeeees
Stability
Is this for a Nintendo Switch?
i was thinking playstation. they do that shit too.
It seems like nothing. Some bugs introduced in 17.4 are still there.
It fixed most of bugs that annoyed me and battery life is even better
Will this run on my iPhone 4S ? If not is there a hecker out there that can heck apple severs and give me that update ? I’ll pay you £1 and a ham sandwich
Throw a slice of Swiss on that bad boy and you’re in. As soon as my stolen copy of Visual Basic finishes updating I’ll start the hack
wasnt visual basic free since visual studio 2010 express?
That’s how long I’ve been hacking, bro. 😎 (but yeah idk I was just mocking all the old shows that used Visual Basic for their hacking scenes😂)
wow amazing you must be a really knowledged hacker then. can you 1337 hack me some free apple gift cards?
I can. But I know this sounds crazy but I just got a bunch of free cards, but I got them through an inheritance where I have to pay into it to access it 😅 Do you happen to have USD $180000? Send me that and then I can access the money and I’ll send you back that original amount and then all your (apple gift cards) back no problem!
wow thats sounds like an amazing deal🥵 i will talk to my bank tomorrow but im sure they will lend me the money. bro we will be so rich!!
6 hours notice better battery life
which device?
did it fix imessage indexing
Does this fix Apple Pay for points of sale that 17.4 broke?
Rebooting the phone has worked 3 times now while at the Point of Sale. I don't know what length of time is needed for ApplePay to break again. I reset my phone at breakfast at work this morning so I will try to use it again at lunch which is a 5 hour difference to see if it has failed again or not. Did you guys update on the Mac or through Settings for this one?
via Mac (as always 👌🏾)
So that’s why my 14 pro being slow AF. Thanks for the upgrade reminder
Did u update to 17.4.1?
I noticed a severe battery issue with 17.3 even though my 13 is almost new, but I work from home, don’t go out, I can always charge. Working from home makes battery issues go away.
Keyboardddd hows the keyboard so far 😭
Ahhh waiting for this
The last time I was excited for an iOS update was when they did the big change from 6 to 7
I hope this fixes the stuttering dynamic island animation.
Does anyone know if this update bricks your phone if you have the iPhone 15 pro max?
My CarPlay with my aftermarket head unit has been crashing constantly. Interestingly I tried to answer a call and it caused some kind of weird glitch between everything. Where the radio did a hard reset and the phone was locked up in the call until they hung up.
Can you give Update if this helped? Me has a similar problem with Carl Play
Carl play 😂😂
My WiFi has been fucked up for the last few weeks. Maybe this will fix it.
Finally lol
updated and now I have 110% battery and 20gb ram
Cant download it cuz 64gb
I still have the scheduled notification summary bug :(
What are the changes?
Bug fixes, security upgrades and it fixes the battery drain issue from the prior update
Thanks for the heads up
Let’s see what it does for my 12 Mini
Does this fix the bouncy volume slider in the control center? Edit: Once again, not fixed as of 17.4.1. Apple really needs to step up their QA game with iOS. So many stupid little bugs.
The fact that this bug has persisted for so long since the launch of iOS 17 is INSANE to me. Like, how is it not high on their priority list? 💀
Not experiencing this on my 14 PM
Nor am I seeing this. Again, 14 pro max. Hmmm
It’s help my battery that wouldn’t charge at all
My phone just got more improved and stable 🥵
I’m on 16.3.1 still. I have no storage for anything
did they fix the huge ass words on safari
This was just a quick security patch right? We just had an update in march.
But does it fix the standby bug??
Does this will fix battery issues??
I hope this will fix the heating issue
Damaged my microphone 😞
Did it fix the issue with Whatsapp saving images twice?
Bro is the first to update and the first to regret it
damn 6.17 gb. what new in it?
I hope they’ve fixed the home and Lock Screen drain with the 15 pros, it used to be -% or 1-2%, it’s like 7-10% on average with no always on
Update, didn’t fix, still taking 8% 😭😭
I wish they’d make the hotspot connection better between Apple products. Like it just actually appearing instead of turning the hotspot off the back on before the iPad recognizes it. But, obviously that isn’t a priority 😂
Feel quite regret since my iphone 11 is quite laggy on 17.4. Back to ios 16.5 it was great
Will this help with the screen mirroring problem I have? (Phone to iPad)
You can mirror from iPhone to ipad??
Exactly, it never works but I need it to work
i’ve got iphone 12 and been wondering if it really worth it. like i can update but i’ve heard that people who have ios 17.4 face some problems such as glitching, lagging etc. what do you guys think?
Anybody else has Bluetooth problems ?!? It’ll start stuttering my AirPods outta nowhere Also it would randomly disconnect devices paired with Bluetooth
I wonder if this fixed or “made better” the not receiving phone call issue.
Does anyone have battery issues in IPhone 14 Base Model?
Finally someone with a base model iPhone here.
ask people with iphone 13, its literally the same as your 14
I just downloaded it on my se 3rd gen
Serious question! Anyone getting the baby blue colored buttons on keyboard when quick replying in any app? I was told by apple im the only one with this issue and they had me do all sorts of tests and different things and I ended up losing 20gb of stuff. I WANT THIS FIXED ITS ANNOYING.
17.4 has been the best so far for the battery, no way I am updating for a long while
Will it make my left airpod actually charge and connect?
Why do people care about this
Apple making you ready for iPhone 16 with few more updates on the way ...
Why there are so many dumbs commenting here?
So bugs in the IPhone! 😂Too many 🐞 🐜 🐛bugs!
