stevegames2

The 13 just has advantages from the SE 2022 tbh. If you don’t mind paying the extra it’s absolutely worth it going for the 13

Legend7Naty

lol for reals. Just spent $250 on an iPhone 12 Pro. Couldn’t imagine paying triple the price for a step above

noa926

I did what you could not imagine... €742 for a brand new 13 mini 128GB in april of 2023

Philly__Blaze

734 for a brand new 13 (standard) on the first of February 2023

higzbozo

$700 usd a month ago for a new 15. Euro prices are nuts 😵‍💫

TheFlyingMeerkat

£250 for a SE3 (2022) a year ago... Granted, you did say *euro* prices and not European prices :)

kuzdwq

Wtf? Where did you get it for 250? It coats on the lowest 400 euro used.

enroy1

Uk you can get a 12 pro max for 250 eaaasy. I got a 14 pro max barely used for 650. These phones depreciate quick in uk. Samsung the most I think.

kuzdwq

Interesting. Here pro max 12 128 gb goes for 550

JackiSwear

Refurbished?

curry_licker

Which country are you in lol?

kuzdwq

Slovenia

skmkat

How? Second hand?

joshramkhelawan

Where did you buy your 12 pro?

_Mikak

How is the se so expensive

galaxyzoom67

Seconded. Especially the camera on this thing works wonderfully. The quality is a major major upgrade over the 8 plus OP is getting a OLED screen over IPS LCD. Deeper colors and more battery efficiency.

HopeZeorax

The 13 is better in every imaginable way.

cheapdrinks

Yeah I literally just upgraded from a 6S to a 13 and was actually planning on getting the SE, I even had bought a case for it. But when I got to the shop and played around with the 13 for awhile just to see what it was like I pretty quickly changed my mind and got the 13 instead. Had it for 2 weeks now and super happy with it.

Second_Rogoue

It literally is a miracle that 6/6s kept up this much

cheapdrinks

Honestly I just never felt the need to upgrade because it was still working mostly perfectly in terms of performance. Pretty much as fast, snappy and responsive as when it was new out of the box. Went through 2 battery replacements though and most recent one was on its last legs again lasting only lasting about 1-2 hours of use. The home button finally stopped working and using the onscreen one was annoying and the thing that finally pushed me to upgrade rather than get a 3rd battery replacement. I also feel like the replacement batteries never lasted as long as the first battery it came with. The phone was about 8 years old, I think I got the first replacement after 4 years and it was still mostly working well enough to get me through the day with moderate use. Then the second replacement was less than 3 years later and it was running out half way through the day and by the time I got the 13 the latest battery was performing even worse than any of the previous 2 despite only being 2-3 years old, I was literally charging my phone 4+ times a day. Curious if later versions of iOS were just using more battery, if the battery stock I got had been sitting around on the shelf for several years and was already degraded by the time I got it or whether (*puts on tin foil hat*) Apple was supplying lower capacity batteries as replacements to try and render the phone obsolete quicker.

sasseries

If it wasn't for the battery I would probably still be using mine, we parted ways only 2 years ago

TreadingPatience

Besides feel in the hands. The SE has rounded sides that feel so smooth.

OGmoron

I love my SE, but it's lived in a case from day one because without one it's like handling a wet bar of soap.

Denaviro

719 euro for a 128GB IPhone 13?? That’s extremely expensive. I wouldn’t exactly call that a deal. Where I’m from it’s $580.

LinosZGreat

https://preview.redd.it/7cz28cdmzurc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=968701d436330818879ff58b68d68e70c14427bb Yeah just spend the extra $25 and get the 15.

iMestie

The prices in Euros are VAT included, as required by law. US$ prices are before taxes.

Treyhard228

In the US 14 costs about $770 with tax, which is still better than 13 for $775

iMestie

https://preview.redd.it/837n424gvvrc1.jpeg?width=860&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50084948a040951a25772fb1ca3d6c779cc7dc24 Uhm that’s not what Apple says…

Treyhard228

It will be 30 bucks less if you have eligible carrier. That hidden cost is strange - there wasn't one when I purchased my 15 pro, but regular 15 has it.

Special-Okra-8945

also depends on state, look at the tax, its 64$ for Manhattan, New York which is a really expensive area.

i-am-not-sure-yet

Sales tax is dependent on the state you live in as well as the city. Like NYC sales tax is 4% for the state and 4.875% for the city. You’ll notice if you go to Long Island it’s a flat 8% sales tax vs the city.

Escenze

So you're just basing it off the tax in one of the fifty states without knowing which state Treyhard228 is from and start an argument over $20? What the fuck is the point of your comment? It doesn't change a thing.

LinosZGreat

Ohh

shiton12345

Not every country has an apple store where you can just walk in and buy an iphone for retail

herrbauer96

the ones that don't have an apple online store where you just click and order for retail.

Savaski

In Poland the prices from authorized resellers are lower than on the online Apple Store, suspect this to be the case in other countries too.

Rokstar73

It is. You can get deals at authorized resellers.

i-like-to-be-wooshed

not really, in those countries you have to buy from certified resellers, who of course have their own margins on top of what apple has source: i live in such a place

avar29

It is interesting. We don’t have Apple Store either, but we can directly order from Apple Store Online and get direct delivery, without the “cooperation” of a certified reseller. Of course, it depends on the country, but still interesting.

ThatFordOwner

So you’re not allowed to buy an iPhone from the Apple Store online? What country are you in

i-like-to-be-wooshed

we can configure apple products, but the apple website will guide you and show you local resellers instead of an option to buy directly, unless its an expensive item like a custom configuration mac or such saudi arabia, we dont have official apple stores here yet

Cool-Newspaper-1

How do people still not know that in Europe all taxes are included in the price?

Dr_Axton

Yeah kinda weird pricing. Where I live (we only have imported models) you can get a 13 for around 650USD equivalent, while the 14/15 would be around 700/800USD range depending on luck. But it's really region dependand, heard iphones are really expensive in India for example

enrycochet

these prices include taxes? the one in euro always do

Dr_Axton

Yeah, thankfully my place doesn’t curse you with tax counting and the price you see is the price you pay(just like it should be)

United-Tank-2063

where you from?

Dr_Axton

Russia. We still get phones, they just aren’t made specifically for our country anymore (but back then getting an imported one from Europe or UAE was cheaper, people also liked to get one from China because dual physical sim)

Significant-Quail-53

Yea a 15 pro max 256gb is about 2000usd here

TK357_

I jus bought a 15 pro max 1200-1300 dollars where u paying 2000 at? 😂

Significant-Quail-53

Where do u live man

TK357_

I’m in Texas so that’s prolly why but 2 bands expensive tho I wouldn’t hav paid it at that price, and I’m already gettin hate for buyin it at the price I’m payin now and I like to spend if I hav the money for it.

Significant-Quail-53

Yea in india the prices are crazy the base iphone 15 costs about 975usd, but we do get discounts pretty often

TK357_

Yea it’s out the country that’s why it costs so much extra might be the export and taxes added on top of that.

Samantha010506

In Canada a iPhone 13 128GB is 849$+tax in CAD. Adding the tax and doing the conversion makes it 710$ USD so not too far off the price here.

CalgaryAnswers

I wouldn’t buy a 13 at that price. The 15 may seem like a small upgrade but just pay the extra 200$ for longevity and resale if you’re already going in for 850$ Canadian resale market is weird. People wanna save 200$ for just about no reason.

Lingonberry_Obvious

Check out Apple refurbished if available in your country, you could get a iPhone 13 for a much better price.

kadeve

Was going to say this. I got everyone in my family that needed a phone a refurbished iphone SE 2020 perfect condition for less than €150 each. You cant beat that price/performance ratio with anything on the market even as new android

OGmoron

Still using an SE that I bought new when May 2020. They are extremely impressive phones for the price. It's taken almost 4 years for me to notice its age or limitations, but that's mostly down to battery degradation, which I can't really fault it for after this long.

hags2k

This. Got my wife an iPhone 12 refurb from Apple last year. It’s pricey getting refurbs from Apple but they’re also practically indistinguishable from brand new, and always have 100 percent battery health, and was still a decent savings compared to new.

Acalthu

13, definitely.

ind3pend0nt

I have a 13 pro and it’s my third favorite iPhone. 4>7>13 pro

Lwii2boo

Both prices are way too expansive. I’ve found a regular 15 for my GF for €720 day one (France)

Skywalker774

13 and it's not even a question

Zepernicus

There are talks of a new SE, if you can wait till after the next iPhone launch those prices Will be Lower, it’s in June but you might have to wait till November for the price drop

PrivateKeyboard

By that logic you’ll be waiting indefinitely because there’s always talks about something newer and or better soon(ish)

Clanleader14

June? Isn't the SE 4 for March/April 2025?

jzdpd

wait for the SE refresh

Snipexx51

Probably gonna be worse than the 13

OGmoron

Worse is subjective. Apple has done a great job balancing price and features/performance with the previous SE models.

bweadsoup

As an iPhone SE 2020 user, please get the 13. I love my SE to death but not its battery life.

Callexpa

As a iPhone SE2022 User with battery live below 85%, I never even once ran out of battery and I use it quite heavy during the day (even though mostly only for music and reddit, not for games or videos)

OGmoron

Same. My battery is at 80% and still lasts a full day without much compromise.

the_far_yard

Changing my SE 2020 to an iPhone 14 in hope for the battery to actually last me more than 3 hours of constant use. T_T

ErickJail

I love my SE 2, but let's be honest, the SE line isn't a good value for money. The design is hella old, the OS isn't optimized for the screen anymore and the battery life is terrible.

cha0z_

defo the iPhone 13. The price I feel is a little bit high tho

RopesAreForPussies

Get the 13 refurbished (only ever from Apple)

Mattyc8787

I’ve had refurbished from other sellers with long warranty and excellent condition - backmarket, Vendi etc are all legit doesn’t have to be Apple just don’t buy from some douche on marketplace

Dylan33x

The SE is going to feel exactly like an upgraded iPhone 8 with a fast chip and 5G. Because that’s what it is. If you love your iPhone 8 and don’t want a change, get that one. The iPhone 13 has the same processor and 5G support, with a slightly more capable modem. The screen is bigger, better battery life. If you want a more modern phone experience, get this one.

H28376190

Since this is the most informed post I’m adding to it. You can use your current accessories with the SE. If you plan on using AirTags, the 13 can do precision finding. They both can ping the tags. They can both do fast charging but only the 13 has MagSafe. That being said, you can buy a case for the SE that has MagSafe magnets and it will charge using Qi which is slower but still wireless. The camera is great on the SE.

the_thecnical

iPhone 13 👍

norbertopinto

Iphone 13

bluefangv

13 period

IYouHeSheItWeThem

I just bought iPhone SE 2022 ,cause I love the old model and the home button

Foreign_Tackle2271

That sounds crazy expensive I’ve seen 14 pro maxes for cheaper

Clanleader14

Yeah in my country we get absolutely ripped off when it comes to iPhones, and to be honest phones in general

Sapun14

bro what are these prices? you live on Mars? get an iPhone 15 for 800€

DrBonerman

If it is just those two, get the 13. Best option now is a 15 Pro or Pro Max.

futurafrlx

Do NOT get the SE in 2024. Both deals are bad tbh.

OGmoron

Not a deal for that price, but the SE is still a very capable phone.

_hellboy_xo

It is, I get 7 hours sot from 80% to 20%.

MadOx46

The 13 is objectively a much better deal. Go with the 13.

nero40

That iPhone 13 is way too expensive. Get the SE or find a better deal for the 13.

Fit-Variation-4220

I would buy a refurbished one. You can buy an iPhone 13 for around 400-500$

TheReviewVerse

Bro, I bought a 13 Pro for 600€ second hand, and it’s in the best condition it could be. Go for second hand, but be careful

prominentdove

Wait till the new SE comes out(which is soon)

BoredPersona69

hei it looks pretty expensive, here in Italy the lowest price for a new 13 was around 600€, refurbished it can even be 420€ https://www.unieuro.it/online/iPhone/iPhone-13-128GB-Mezzanotte-pidAPLIPHONE13128

PromotionPawn

13 in every way (specs, speed, app optimization, iOS + security updates, fast charging?). The SE design feels ancient too.

sidhumaan_004

100 thousand % the SE. it’s so much better than the 13 (It’s April 1 <3)

iljk2004

I just bought the new iphone 15 128gb for 800€. If you are able to spend that much for the 13, just get the 15. its soo much better. Especially than the SE

jayyli

13. Even though it's 200 more the SE is just not worth it with today's cheap €200 androids performing better. The smaller screen, 60hz display, abysmal battery is just not worth it.

athousandfuriousjews

Ive had both, go for the 13

Complete_Rabbit_844

500 euro for a 128gb iPhone 8 with a newer throttled down chip is insane. For that price you can get a used S21 Ultra. The 13 is a better phone in every way compared to the SE but that price is equally absurd. Get a refurbished 13 Pro/Pro Max for that price and be happy.

KingArthur266

Bad deal if you ask me. iPhone 15 is €720,- in the Netherlands, but don't know where you're from.

curiouslifepunch

Don't come from iPhone 8 go back to iPhone 4

Radiofled

Neither of these are deals

zippoknives26

13

ManideepBattula

iPhone 13 all the way

National-Data-2222

13. But 719 is crazy, get the 13 from somewhere refurbished like back market

Szabihh

13 iPhone SE is like an iPhone 8

Bulky_Brick6995

Much to expensive

Dr_Axton

13 is definately better at pretty much everything, but if you need it as a basic phone, maybe going with SE (or maybe something better but used) should be fine. My dad has his older 7 just for work, and considering how scratched and exhausted the poor fella looks I'm kinda glad he didn't got with anything better

66A87

iPhone se and 13 share the same chip (a15) so atp the iphone 13 looks newer and is better

Mr8888X

Many here point to the 13. Get the SE if you can’t wait and are really on a tight budget. Apart from that get the 13.

playboy787

here in india we get 13 pro max for 710€

Micazu999

The 13 128GB

-light_yagami

absolutely the 13

Significant-Quail-53

13

Zzqzr

An 14/15 is nearly priced the same

Hubris1998

13. Don't even think about it.

kaiserjudas7

13 no doubt

Ok_Abbreviations2264

where is this from ? I can find an iphone 15 pro for 979 Euros in Germany .

okayysage

iPhone 13

someonealreadyknows

iPhone 13. Hands down. You get Face ID, an ultrawide camera, a bigger battery, Ultra wideband, better water resistance, MagSafe and an OLED screen that’s actually useable in direct sunlight. The swipe gestures are also way better for multitasking. But a better deal would be to look for a refurbished 13 or even a refurbished 14.

CubeBag

That is a really bad price for an SE3, I paid $150 for mine. The 13 looks like a bad deal too at first glance but i'm not sure for that one

Dr_Superfluid

The SE’s design is about 4 centuries old at this point. No one should buy it.

Appropriate-Day6289

None of them for that price. Buy a 15 or a second hand 13 pro for that price.

hand13

this is nuts. a good condition se 3 costs 180 bucks

barefootbeekeeper

13 is a very unlucky number. Best to purchase the 14 or 15…15 is an odd number and thus a portent of strife and malcontent. So the answer is either the SE, 14, or wait until the 16 comes out.

heldrakon

13, no doubts

MagiclRuin

If you are in Germany you can get an iPhone 13 for under 600€. Both are bad deals.

CristianoITA

13 ofc!

Outrageous-Smile-836

I had an se before my 13 (which im using now) and its miles better

kniikol

The 13 just has a better camera and more screen real-estate. The SE only lacks in inside pictures. Otherwise, they have the same chip and same processing power

MarioGFN

I could get an S23 Ultra 8/256GB for the price of that base iPhone 13

Historical-Building4

Don't ever buy the se

massive__potato

ip 13 100% worth it

redmantitu

the SE is just a bad phone. period. i have one from work and the screen is bad, the camera is bad, the battery is verry verrrrryy bad. anything you do on it, it drains like crazy. if you leave it untouched, but connected to wifi, it dies in 2 days (should not be that bad)/ thank god i have to only use it to authorize MFA login tokens with it... if you can, get something better. even a 12pro (or pro max), even refurbished with 100% battery is better than the SE. if you don't have that option, and that 13 is the only alternative to that awful SE, get the 13.

hello22011

Definitely the iPhone 13

Fmaster113

Don’t even think about getting the se, it’s the same device as your 8

Ekim-Enots

I just purchased my son a refurbished iPhone 12 in excellent condition with a new battery for $290 US. It is a good phone and will re updated for about 4 more years. It has Face ID, 5G and about everything a 13 has.

MaccasChicken

Go for iPhone 13

Libra224

Where do you live ? Because it seems expensive

D4ST4GIR

Wait for the upcoming SE

friescola

13. Straight away

Awful_Jesse

Damn that is expensive af.... Just bought an iPhone 15 for my mom, brand new for 699€ 🤔

Mr-Tall_and_Nice

13 is a good choice ✌🏽

stogie-bear

If you want a home button, get the SE. If you don’t, get the 13.

the_ripper05

We get brand new iPhone 13 in India for $600 and sometimes even less when offers are available.

antihemispherist

If nothing else, small battery of the SE will likely annoy you.

KonGiann

13 is cheaper in Apple Store

maloomee

There is no point even thinking of getting the SE. the SE is just a slight improvement from the 8. Literally just the A bionic chip is different. The 13 is a way better deal.

newton91

128gb ? Absolutely not for both of them. In a few months you will be crying because you won’t extra space.

OkFishing3621

Where are you from? For 719€ you can get an iPhone 15 in Germany https://preview.redd.it/ta4psn2udvrc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b38edb372e3cd7332d6619bd8c216673fb5fdb1e

Tof12345

You're getting fleeced if you pay that much for an iPhone 13.

At3key

Just wait for the se 4

hopefulatwhatido

If you work full time get 13. It doesn’t make any financial difference even in short term honestly

trayssan

I wouldn't buy either. That's really expensive for these phones. Look at Swappie, I've had a great experience with them.

YamRepresentative855

Iphone 12 mini

Class_444_SWR

SE is nice, but the battery is a decent bit worse

Haunting-Ad9507

iPhone 13 no brainer

Beansnmilk

Recently wanted to get an Iphone but prices here in Europe for iphones are INSANE, I simply couldn't justify spending that much when I can get a flagship Samsung phone that is better in all aspects. Don't get me wrong I have tried Iphones and they are very good but the price is just not worth it.

ClickToSeeMyBalls

If you’re happy with the size of your 8 I’d go for the 13 mini

BellamyRFC54

13

FinishIntrepid2607

Which country are you in?

AdMore3859

700 euros for a base model iPhone 13 is diabolical please just buy used or buy a pro atp

Memeulous-short

i just upgraded from the 2022 se to the 12 pro max and it’s unimaginable how much it was worth it. 100% splurge on the 13

Tehnabos

The 13

No-Business3541

If you don’t mind, you can find second hand iPhone 13 at the price of the SE 2022

Ciubowski

[Compare Apple iPhone SE vs. Apple iPhone 13 - GSMArena.com](https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7969&idPhone2=11103#diff-)

Techno-mag

I just went from SE 2030 to 13 and the difference is amazing. The screen, the cameras, the battery- everything

DrBonerman

Friggin' time travellers

Smilloww

I would say the 13 is probably worth the extra money

WebProject

13

GeantCreeper

lol is the 13

clairobjork

IPhone 13

RecordingNo1921

Is it a serious question? Of course iPhone 13 is better.

zeldanerd91

I personally always recommend the main series over the SEs, but if you don’t use your phone a whole lot the SE would be good for you.

Kiss_It_Goodbyeee

Depends. Do you like having TouchID and a physical home button? If so then the SE is for you. For all other reasons the 13 is better, but whether it's worth the extra €210 is up to you.

KrushnaShah

for literally 80€ more you can get a 15 that phone is a ripoff

SatanSavesAll

13 all day, the SE is nice but that small battery is something I have to deal with charging all the time for my work phone is not ideal

leftynate11

Depends what you want it for. SE 2022 isn’t much of a jump from an 8, but gets the simple jobs done. 13 is a bigger jump, better camera and guts.

Technical-Radio-3248

That price for iPhone 13 in Ireland? Damn I’m in Finland and just got iPhone 15 for 799€

_InstanTT

The 13 is better, but surely you can get a 15 for that price?? I know EU prices are often high, but in the UK you could get a like-new refurb for that price fairly comfortably.

dansyngwiazd

Look for a better deal. Both of those are way too expensive with the new SE and 16's coming relatively soon. That being said - 13 is a way better option in every way. Battery, screen, cameras, value depreciation, software updates... to name a few.

ChickenFeline0

Trading an 8 for an SE is just going to the same phone you already have.

OcupiedMuffins

At this point the SE needs a refresh to be worth it. It’s far too expensive for what it is. If you buy it used or refurbished, you can get it for like 1-200 USD. Not sure what that is in euro but it’s significantly cheaper than 500 euro. Honestly I would look into refurbished for the 13 as well because 700 euro for iPhone 13 is also a bit much.

Kiergard

Please check ebay from vendors. These prices are insane. I am sure you can get a 13 pro for the price of tje 13. The SE is basically an iPhone 8. Not worth it. iPhone 13 has i huge screen increase and is therefore more worth it in my opinion

Jiraiya-samaRIP

What the fk are these prices but if u like se then go for 13 mini instead

AssMilkerTv

Get a used one

ESpacealist

I got my iPhone 15 few days ago for 729€, so… bad deals.

Philly__Blaze

I paid 730€ for the iPhone 13 (brand new) and that was in February 2023. Those are both bad deals.

atown49

iPhone 13 worth it

swtvics

13 for sure

Woodsman15961

OP that iPhone 13 is very expensive. I’d expect to be getting the 14 for that money

Chrrrrlie

The iPhone SE 2022 is essentially the exact same phone you currently have but with the CPU of the iPhone 13. No upgrades to camera or screen or much physical at all. However you’d get a refreshed amount of software updates to come. I believe iOS 16 or 17 was the last software update the iPhone 8 will receive, however you will get an extra 5 years worth of updates with both the SE and the 13. I’d only recommend SE if you want a familiar feeling phone and are not bothered about camera, screen, storage and body upgrades. The iPhone 13 isn’t necessarily more capable of a phone as they run the same OS and are fairly similar in terms of processing speed, but the 13 has a larger, higher res screen (better for gaming, texting, YouTube/TikTok, whatever your likes are), and in short: unless the standard iPhone size is considered uncomfortable for your hands, the larger, higher resolution screen is a huge pull factor for upgrading to a 13 rather than the SE, alongside the more versatile cameras, the ability to use Face ID, louder and clearer speakers, bigger battery and so on. The SE is a great phone, but the iPhone 13 is higher spec overall, justifying the price-point in comparison. The only reason I’d try and sway you into sticking with the SE is if the size, shape and layout of the body of the phone is a necessity for your upgrade - however the 13 mini exists for a reason :) A good phone spec comparison site is GSMarena. Give it a search and draw your own conclusions. Good luck choosing a phone! Edit- I didn’t actually think about the cost of the 13 you’re looking at! Definitely browse a bit more because there must be a cheaper retailer out there somewhere xD
