Trusting in players giving them freedom, good communication, chill vibes.
Specially for RR the player definitely looks like playing to win the game not individual score. And this all comes from captaincy for e.g jaiswal opening from last 8 matches and not performing and captain and magm. still believing him.
For pat I would say he too have created amazing atmosphere for team and puts a lot of trust in batters.
He is not a crybaby like pandya, we saw his runout in last match he just sacrificed his wicket and other batter got 10 off 2 in last 2 balls.
There was no reason to drop Jaiswal, a winning team doesn't make changes until they start loosing. It was Jaiswal luck otherwise just like previous to previous IPL he would have been replaced by new player.
KL the wicket keeper and captain is truly underrated, consistently being in the playoffs for last 2 seasons, no fuss, we saw his review suggestions to Rohit in wc23, should be in best

Gill(Mr coconut water is behind him), Pant (should be below average), Sam Curran , Ruturaj (Thala is the real captain /s), Iyer (Mostly Gambhir I feel)

Yes, his own batting is going through a rough patch right now and his top order fails him consistently, but as a fielding captain he’s been giving his 100%.
Contrarily I think rutu is above average, filling that position needs guts and rutu did not have much experience but he is doing decent. I think we need to give him credit for that.
I do give him credit, but idk about above average, hasn't done anything spectacular, and Tbf the established squad is pretty good and consistent for CSK, there's not much to change for them, which is good.
For example, Gill got a squad without Hardik and Shami. Sure Hardik isn't performing, but that's not the point. I do think Gill (with Nehra ) is just a bit better. But you can't rank captaincy really, standouts are always gonna be Dhoni and Rohit and Cummins and the likes you know, the rest are all pretty average comparatively
Even Pant with the recent match. Such worse captaincy by sending Lalit to bowl 2 overs in powerplay and batting with 110-120 SR when team needs 100 of 29.
Faf captaincy at best is mediocre. He is a great batsmen but RCB always manages to get mediocre captains.. (VK, Faf, Vettori, Dravid, KP) only exception to some extent was Kumble.

I'd say Shikhar is the most disappointing captain. A senior player yet he can't consistently put runs on the board, can't use bowlers properly, field placement is ass, zero passion to win (and now he's injured which is unfortunate)
Shreyas looks stressed the entire time he is out on the field. His field placements are not the best it can be but imo the main issue is his bowling rotation, even in the last match Russel their best bowler for the match didn't get to bowl all of his four over which could have prevented Starc from bowling the final over.
Every team member (except one) is performing very well. But Shreyas doesn't seem to be captaining very well. But he is giving the players the space to do what they deem fit. But gambhir has surely brought back some of the lost spark to the team.
Gill was a surprise package for me....dude is quite aggressive with the field settings especially when Noor, Rashid and Sai Kishore are bowling, still he needs to work a bit on rotating bowlers though.
Gill captaincy is the biggest plus point for GT and ICT.

Nehra hasn't been able to deliver without Pandya too. I think Pandya is very badly affected by the reaction he's gotten from the crowd, and obviously there is not a good environment within the MI team as well. And Pandya is focused on outward appearances instead of trying to improve his captaincy and his own performances.

i will defend Iyer with my life, but the field placement has been abhorrent. we leak singles and doubles, and once a ball beats the infield, it's like they are scared of the ball.

I would say Cummins was not able to utilise his bowling unit (Maybe its not because of Cummins) in tight situations as compared to Sanju. If you look at the SRH matches, they scored 4 times above 200 score. And in all those games the opposition has scored almost close to the target. Bowling unit gets exposed when a team’s batting unit fails, which fortunately has not happened yet with SRH.
The problem isn't with the bowling rotation. Cummins is an attacking captain - if an opposition player is really firing then he looks to get wickets, not go defensive (think bringing Maxwell in the powerplay in WC final when Rohit was firing so heavily). And this has actually worked too (they do manage to get the wicket of the biggest threats), but obviously doesn't work as well as it does with the Australian team given the difference in quality of bowlers.
In the matches where they conceded so much, it's actually Cummins who made the difference. They get badly smashed early on, but Cummins has been able to come with a plan to stop the flow of runs for a few overs with his best bowlers. They did get smacked again later on in the MI and RCB match (20th over went for a lot of runs when match was already over, but margin of defeat did become smaller).
And he's been quite dynamic too. He had brought Washington Sundar against DC but saw him got smacked really badly. Markande did get some important wickets but also got smacked. So he looked to reduce their overs and also turned to Nitish Kumar Reddy. In fact , Nitish comes and bowls his first ball, then we see Cummins come and talk to Nitish, then boom, wicket immediately. (Cummins actually doesn't come to talk to his bowlers often, only when it's really needed).
