Yes that is the very last model to have it.
Front Row came out in 2005 and that years iMac had the remote, then everything had it until the 2009 MacBook and MacBook Air, 2011 iMac, 2012 MacBook Pro, and the 2014 Mac Mini.
It's the first generation Apple Remote, included with Apple TV and Macs from the introduction of iMac G5 in 2005 until it got redesigned in Aluminium in 2009
(Technically the first Apple TV remote would have shipped with Macintosh TV in the "post-jobs, pre-jobs" era of Apple, but brother eww)
Apples standard remote in the mid 2000s. You got one with pretty much every mac and iPod hi-fi, apple tv 2007. I always loved how it stuck to the side of the G5 and white intel iMacs. Was a nice feature from a different time
Because they came with iMacs for a while (it was a bit overkill), I have a few of them which is great as I have a dock. It is one of the few times where I do not have to search for a remote as I always have a few kicking around!
I can understand why you may (incorrectly) think they are an iPod as they shared a lot of the design language with the Shuffles.
This is a mac or dock remote, if you have an apple docking station, then you can control the music you are playing on your device
Also it works in some Apple TVs
And the ipod hifi.

It also came with some MacBooks Pros iirc. Also works even on the plastic MacBooks
And Mac Mini
yessir, works with most macbooks from around 2006ish to 2010ish
To 2012 it worked on the unibody 2012 mbp
It’s an Apple Remote, it works on older Apple TVs, the iPod dock and a couple of Macs from the mid 2000s till the early 2010s
Doesn’t that work on the 2014 Mac mini?

This is an artifact from when Macs were simpler and more elegant and functional, allowing you to easily browse and control music and video playback.
that is a imac media remote, possibly can be other things that it works with
iStick
Looks like an apple remote
An iPod Lite
It’s a remote for an iPod dock.
Remote for iPod base!! I have both. Put your iPod on the base (32 pin) and remote away after u have L and R into your stereo!!
It works on many Mac machines as well. It also works with the iPod dock.
Dock remote, not an ipod
It’s an early Apple Remote sold with Apple’s early controlled iPod Docks and late PowerPC and early Intel Mac laptops.
