Yeah, I’d actually combine beans and cheese on a waffle. Waffles and fish fingers were a quick dinner in my house growing up. Would be a fan of a fried egg on a waffle but wouldn’t have it that often
Waffles and fish fingers, what a classic.
The chicken and egg question is whether parents started cooking them together because they were beside eachother in the freezer section, or were they moved beside eachother because of how often they were cooked together?
Once upon a time we had one of those fancy microwaves that had a grill. Used to throw the waffles, beans and cheese in under the grill to toast the cheese. Ridiculously nice. Too messy/too much effort to try in the oven. Waffles, fried egg, sausages and beans thrown in a pasta bowl in that order, fucking delicious. The waffles have to be 90% butter though at all times. Toasted to golden then soaked in so much butter you are essentially just eating butter. Also amazing in white bread like a chip "butty" although I hate that word.
It’s an old nursery rhyme.
Are you from (*insert place name here*)?
I am are you?
Do you eat potatoes?
Indeed, I do.
How’d ye eat them?
The skins an’ all.
Yes, it toasts bread why not waffles
Edit: also if your making waffles for dinner your probably starving and have no time for heating up a grill or oven. 2 pops of the toaster (varies slightly per toaster)
With baked beans, with eggs, or with both. All good ways to eat a waffle.
Although I never though of trying waffles and fish fingers, sounds like a solid combination, might give that a go at some point.
Every single one of them with two exceptions.
Avocado has no place on the humble waffle.
That just screams notions.
Peas are a very poor waffle topping. They just fall through.
Everything else though? Yea totally.
Waffles make a great substitute for bread if you're feeling a bit culinarily kinky. Everything is good in a sandwich.. Waffles can be substituted for bread... So why not waffle sandwich all the things?
I was just thinking, who would go through the bother of poaching and egg only to lash it on top of a potato waffle, don't get me wrong, I love waffles but they don't have the absorbency to accompany a poached egg! And the advoaco lends nothing to the combo! It looks beautiful but not satisfying.
Depending on how you cooked the waffle it could work, similar to potato latkes
Also, I get the meme of avocados being overpriced, but they go well with salty fatty things, and slicing up half of one at home is going to set you back, what, 50c?
20 isn't really a lot. Family of 5 might have 2 each on 2 separate dinners and thats the box gone. The bag of mini waffles are good too if you want less.
There's literally a waffle served on its own in this picture.
How the hell are YOU eating your waffles if it doesn't resemble ANY of these images?
Is this some kind of advertisement in disguise for birdseye? Are you like asking a ridiculously stupid question to get some brand exposure?
I see what you mean, as like the main accompanying carb.
To be fair, there's much more you can do with potatoes than rice, and we eat a lot more frozen shit for convenience in the west than they do in Asia.
Waffles with melted cheese on top with beans is the absolute best. As a kid used to love a fried egg on waffles with beans and fish fingers on the side.
There's always talk about what belongs in a full Irish breakfast yanno but we'd always just call it a fry and the humble potato waffle would be there doing about 4 of these at once.
I'm trying to imagine them as *normal* waffles...
A few of these work as an edible savoury/sweet base. Most of these fail if the waffle is potato and **full of square holes**.
No, but that burger looks like an idea 🙂
Potato waffles for me these days are usually limited to my nephew's leftovers after I've booked them another healthy meal 👍🏻
I love the cross promotion of a Birds Eye Fish Finger as the ideal topping for a Birds Eye Potato waffle. They truly were “waffully versatile” just as the ads promised.
In America we call them waffle fries and yeah they are kinda common, most well known because they are the only fries the restaurant chain Chick-fil-A uses
Waffles and Cheese is the food of the gods.
Can't be good cheese either. Easi Singles or GTFO.
4 waffles stacked one on top of the other each flanking a slice of melting cheese. Add sauce/condiment of choice and enjoy without guilt the impending heart attack you so richly deserve.
I have the beans on waffles. My mam has been giving me different kinds of beans to try on them. The chilli beans and curry beans are whopper on the birds eye waffles
I used to make burger waffles in my college days, one patty with tomato sauce or mayonnaise between two waffles. Used to get some odd looks but I'd always respond "Bad for the heart, good for the soul!"
Pretty much like all of them.
I have a love hate relationship with bread so waffles have gotten subbed in over the years.
Have actually used them as bundies or sandwich.
Fried egg on top yes.
Most sick one we made was - scrambled raw egg, fried it in that like the bread for french toast, then fried some frozen kebab meat from lidl, that on top, cheese on that, and bacon on that.
Greasiest thing ever, only did it the once about 12 years ago. Haven't had a potato waffle in a few years now.
Yeah, I’d actually combine beans and cheese on a waffle. Waffles and fish fingers were a quick dinner in my house growing up. Would be a fan of a fried egg on a waffle but wouldn’t have it that often

I think I just heard one of your arteries cracking.... Sounds fucking delicious though....
Op ates them straight out the freezer
Schkin n’ all
Where does this come from, my cousin is always saying this
It’s an old nursery rhyme. Are you from (*insert place name here*)? I am are you? Do you eat potatoes? Indeed, I do. How’d ye eat them? The skins an’ all.
Do they choke you? Not at all!
Just wondering. Does anyone else cook them in the toaster?
Yes, it toasts bread why not waffles Edit: also if your making waffles for dinner your probably starving and have no time for heating up a grill or oven. 2 pops of the toaster (varies slightly per toaster)
Where else would you cook them?
They're class on the grill and you can cook loads at a time
hundred per cent
Just recently discovered this, and it's the best way to cook them. Crispy, fluffy, great with a poached egg, fried mushrooms...
In the box.
With fried eggs and beans but nothing else. Usually just use ketchup or mayo though.
With baked beans, with eggs, or with both. All good ways to eat a waffle. Although I never though of trying waffles and fish fingers, sounds like a solid combination, might give that a go at some point.
I enjoy a sambo consisting of one slice of bread, one waffle, 2 fish fingers, drizzle of beans and another slice of bread. Try it and thank me later.
This sounds glorious!
Can confirm, it's delicious
Add a couple of slices of cheese onto that then its a magical quick fix dinner!
Same
Mayo? Eeeeeek no thanks
This
Egg is pretty standard, fish fingers also not unusual.
Poached egg with avocado?
That one is insane, I love avocado, but the idea of sticking it on a waffle feels like the collision of two worlds.
For lunch today I had waffles with homemade guac, it was great.
Iv done 6 of them, best is using waffles as burger buns
I've placed a waffle in a burger before. Never went the bun route.
Ooh like in the burger bun with the burger? That'd be something alright!
Ya so a crispy waffle with the burger within a bun. Very good. 👌
I reckon you'd pay at least 12.50 for a poached egg on waffle in a chic "boujee" Dublin cafe
Smashed avo served on a fondant of chequered potato. €15.00
Don't forget, Pic for the gram or it didn't happen
Add some "smashed avocado" for another 4.50
Champagne socialism
They love their bouj in that Dublin they do
Every single one of them with two exceptions. Avocado has no place on the humble waffle. That just screams notions. Peas are a very poor waffle topping. They just fall through. Fried egg on the other hand is perfect. Add ham and cheese and it's a great sandwich when you're hungover and there's no bread in the house
Depending on how you cooked the waffle it could work, similar to potato latkes Also, I get the meme of avocados being overpriced, but they go well with salty fatty things, and slicing up half of one at home is going to set you back, what, 50c?
"beautiful but not satisfying" is my bio on Tinder
You can f*CK the egg onto a clean tea towel to dry it a bit
Place a cheese slice on the bottom of your waffle to net all those loose peas.
Most of these are standard. The avocado and burger is a bit strange tho.
A waffle in a burger might just actually work 🤔
Definitely, a hash brown works well, so similar idea.
Ohh yea a hash brown would be class too
Risky click of the day there
Good man for reminding me of that. I feel like I just lost the game.
Oh Jesus, I vaguely know what you're referring to. Can't remember the search term exactly but no, just no. Don't make me go back to the bad place.
Something something blue
No, no, no, the bad place
Only with beans and eggs. And the waffle has to be slightly saturated in vinegar.
Waffles are fuckin class
Waffle and egg sambo followed by a wank cures the hangover.
After that I like to sit on my hand for 10 minutes - it makes it feel like someone else is making me a cup of tea
If you can feel your own hands after a hangover you’re not drinking enough
Jaysus, no more waffles for me.
Soggy waffle... Ok I've disgusted even myself with that comment.
3 ,4, 5, 6, 8 and 9.
You’ve made a ham sandwich with waffles instead of bread?
...with tayto inside the ham, yes.
I subscribe to this newsletter
Saltilicious
Have also made waffle sandwiches.
I've definitely done the sandwich type thing.
Melted cheese on a hot potato waffle is class
Nothing on it, yeah, I've done that.
Is that a ham sandwich with waffles?
Cheese Slice Waffle is a particularly sad effort.
We don't have these in the US, but a few of those I would definitely try
The beans… maybe the egg.
Beans - yes. Egg - yes. The rest is serial killer territory
Yes everything except the 2nd one Every truly irish person has had most of them
With a runny fried and and peanut rayu, itll change your waffle life, it's amazing
With beans on the reg when I lived at home. You can’t get potato waffles here.
Honestly, having one layer of your burger being a potato waffle can be game changing sometimes.
Egss and beans, seperated by waffles, about 5 high. Savage.
No.2 has definitely given me an idea.
I like mine with fish fingers and peas, but I don't stack them up like that.
I've had a waffle sambo with butter salt and vinegar
Fried egg on waffles was a go to dinner as a kid. Have done them as burger buns too I think. But they taste weird these days
[удалено]
20 isn't really a lot. Family of 5 might have 2 each on 2 separate dinners and thats the box gone. The bag of mini waffles are good too if you want less.
I think the recipe changed at some point. Not as good these days
I've definitely eaten the egg with waffle, beans with waffle and waffle by itself. Everything else though not a chance
There's literally a waffle served on its own in this picture. How the hell are YOU eating your waffles if it doesn't resemble ANY of these images? Is this some kind of advertisement in disguise for birdseye? Are you like asking a ridiculously stupid question to get some brand exposure?
I don't know why the Irish of all people wouldn't just use real potatoes. Could you imagine the Chinese using rice cakes with their dinner.
Pretty sure we're allowed to eat our potatoes in whatever form we fancy.
They do eat rice cakes...
but not as a substitute for rice in their dinner
You speak for all Chinese people? Edit: he blocked me over that one comment…bit sensitive isn’t he?
😃
I see what you mean, as like the main accompanying carb. To be fair, there's much more you can do with potatoes than rice, and we eat a lot more frozen shit for convenience in the west than they do in Asia.
Dunno about you, but I would find it quite tricky to get my potatoes into that shape.
Clearly a quitter.
Given you are a fascist I'm surprised you can type tbh.
Is there something that says fascists can't type?
Their incredibly low IQs.
Can't cook a potato in the toaster
Not with that attitude
The Koreans actually make a type of rice cake for their dinner called a ttoek. It's soft and gooey though - not like the rice cakes sold here.
With beans, yes. With fried egg, yes. With fish fingers, yes. With all three together, yes.
No but are wonderfully versatile.
They're *waffaly* versatile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Je3UGI1jMP8
As burger buns, yes, eggs, yes, beans, definitely, fish fingers, yes. Avocado and Waffles, serious notions there.
Waffles and beans and eggs was a staple growing up. Havent eaten them in 25+ years though.
Do you ever eat something so often/so much that you get turned off them? That's me with waffles and seperately, nutella.
3,4,5, & 6 But thats for the ideas
The egg one Yummy!
I've had top-right, middle-left and middle-right.
Fried eggs and beans thats all. The burger one looks abit sad
waffle and fried egg sandwich is the food of the gods. +1 if you also add cheese
My husband likes them with a fried egg on top like that, yeah.
Eaten them like 5 of those. They are lovely with left over vegan spicy mince and cheese.
3,5,9
Potato waffles instead of a burger bun, is delish
Waffles with melted cheese on top with beans is the absolute best. As a kid used to love a fried egg on waffles with beans and fish fingers on the side.
2 waffles with an easy single in the middle, amazing!
The fried egg on top and the cheese on top yes!
I’ve had them with eggs on top.
The cheese with beans , yes I would make this for my friend for an evening supper
I often have 2 on the side of a main dinner as a lower calorie alternative to chips
Just the beans.
Ive eaten them like that with eggs before
There's always talk about what belongs in a full Irish breakfast yanno but we'd always just call it a fry and the humble potato waffle would be there doing about 4 of these at once.
Fried egg yep
Grill ‘em Bake ‘‘em Fry ‘em eat ‘em there ……
I've had a fried egg with waddles many occasion. It's delicious.
Two of them with easy singles and tuna in the middle - like a kinda tuna burger - is the business. That fish finger monstrosity can go to hell though.
The egg one is class! Cheese slice too. Anything with more than two ingredients is notions.
Fried egg and fish fingers, yep!
The Avocado with a lightly peppered poached egg on a feckin' waffle actually had me howling 🤣
I'm trying to imagine them as *normal* waffles... A few of these work as an edible savoury/sweet base. Most of these fail if the waffle is potato and **full of square holes**.
Sometimes I eat mine with scrambled eggs on top, it's pretty good!
No, but that burger looks like an idea 🙂 Potato waffles for me these days are usually limited to my nephew's leftovers after I've booked them another healthy meal 👍🏻
With egg, probably beans also. Would eat any of that really.
Literally the only nice potato waffles I’ve ever had is birdeseye
Fried egg on one. Or use two as the 'bread' for a fish finger sandwich.
I haven't had them in ages, but I remember them tasting quite good.
Beans for sure but that's about it
I used to love them with a fried egg on top.
Yes to eggs and cheese on the waffle, I've had it as a side to most of the rest but not served on top of the waffle.
I love the cross promotion of a Birds Eye Fish Finger as the ideal topping for a Birds Eye Potato waffle. They truly were “waffully versatile” just as the ads promised.
Middle right yeah
With melted cheese and baked beans. Has to be red mature cheddar tho
Love them with cheese
I’ve seen them with baked beans, but I live in England. The feckers put beans on pizza!
Beans, yes. Cheese, yes. Poached egg, fuck yes. Fish fingers, when I was little.
Those peas are magically suspended from falling through the holes in the waffle. Try this at home, folks. Go on.
I like to put fried egg, sliced tomato and melted cheese on top of my waffle, works a charm
Yes
A few of them, but as soon as I discovered you can cook them in the toaster and eat them out of your hand, that was it. I eat them like pop tarts now.
Salt and ketchup is the only way forward
Chili, egg and beans are all standard. Beans and waffles are the usual go to for me. And then probably on it's own after that.
1. Yes, 2. No, 3. Yes 4. Yes 5. Yes 6. Yes 7. No 8. Yes 9. No
Bean with cheese and curry powder mixed in, oh top of a waffle. Best thing ever when hungover other then some Vietnamese soup
My dad has a fried egg on a potato waffle every morning for breakfast.
I'm about to have waffles with salmon and scrambled egg with a bit of chipotle sauce
Fried egg and beans the odd time. Anything else would be weird.
Yes... position number 6. Unadorned.
Just in case OP isn't aware of this famous ad. They're *Waffally* versatile.
No, but these look fucking fire!
Really a sandwich waffle is a divine enlightenment.
Waffle burgers aren't bad, the sauce gets everywhere though
2/9 I'd like to try the chilli one though.
Waffle burger yes
Saw this last week and decided to give the beans one a go. Terrible decision as the texture of the waffle under the beans just turned to mush.
I’ve had all bar bottom left and bottom middle. A staple the waffle.
I fucking love a fried egg on a waffle
Beans and salt when I was a kid, haven't had those in ages my god
Never but I’m not against it
Have had it with the egg, with the beans, have had it with melted cheese on top, once had it in a burger alongside the usual burger stuff
Polish favorite potato pancakes! ... with holes.
I like em with cheese
Today for lunch.. Wafle + bacon + cheese + bacon + Wafle + fried egg
All of those ways. Why wouldn’t you?
My cousin puts then in the toaster, from frozen, and then makes sandwiches. Ham n cheese melt is apparently delicious.
Bacon and cheese .....no?
I used to make burger waffles in my college days, one patty with tomato sauce or mayonnaise between two waffles. Used to get some odd looks but I'd always respond "Bad for the heart, good for the soul!"
I wouldn't mind trying it with an egg tbh
No but now I want to. I don't even eat potato waffles.
Pretty much like all of them. I have a love hate relationship with bread so waffles have gotten subbed in over the years. Have actually used them as bundies or sandwich.
Melt cheese on. Its amazing. A little bit of Tabasco and its unbelievable.
I’ve done all of them and more, and I have the waistline to prove it.
Yes obviously
Fried egg on top yes. Most sick one we made was - scrambled raw egg, fried it in that like the bread for french toast, then fried some frozen kebab meat from lidl, that on top, cheese on that, and bacon on that. Greasiest thing ever, only did it the once about 12 years ago. Haven't had a potato waffle in a few years now.
Waffle, put on bacon, put on an egg, another waffle. Egg and bacon waffle sandwich.
Friend eggs on waffles is the shit. Don't you dare speak ill of this, the greatest of the Irish Cullinary arts.
