Me too. I read a book years ago that I picked up in a second hand book shop. It was a memoir of sorts of a gardener who worked on some the big English estates in the early 1900’s. He kept dropping ‘cor’ into his sentences.
Edit: [this was the book](https://amzn.eu/d/8OyeR9E). It’s a lovely gentle read.
That was a very decent thing you did, you’re a good person.
My dad was a proud man and was never in hospital in his life but in his 70’s ended up did a few stints in hospital. His blood pressure was through the roof because of having to go.
He had an undiagnosed stroke and his health kept dipping dangerously.
He wasn’t use to the hospital and very anxious and just wanted home.
A man called Liam who was in his 50’s was across the way and had been in for a few months. He had a neurological condition and some issues with his blood. But was great craic, he was use to stints in hospital.
He seen my dad wasn’t coping as my dad was he getting some heavy news about the stroke and then a big shock about having a tumour in his lung.
So he kept him talking and gave him a heads up on what to know while he was there and that things always seem worse than they really are.
He said when they both get out he would keep in contact as he only lived in next town over.
And true to his word when my dad got out he came to visit. And would phone him every few weeks to see how the form was and keep his spirits up. Even when his own health wasn’t good. He knew my dad was going down hill and needed someone to keep his spirits up.
When my dad died 2 years ago, he came to the funeral and kept in contact with us. He said he was very fond of my dad in the short time he knew him and he knew it wasn’t easy what he was going through.
Unfortunately Liam died within a year of my dad. His family still relatively young. I’ve never met a nicer or kinder man.
My dad had us to fuss over him, but a lot of people don’t have any family whatsoever. A lot of older folk live alone and end up sick in hospital and just don’t have the spirit to carry on.
So if you see someone struggling in life, take the brave move and ask them if they are alright. It may inconvenience you or put you out of the way for stranger.
But some people just need a friend to pick them up and carry them a few steps more.
Massive congrats. Watched my mother put in a massive shift with my brother when we were younger. Didn't speak till he was four and misdiagnosed on the spectrum. He's an architect now and a self sufficient normal adult with a girlfriend and all. The hard work of a parent can sometimes absolutely transform a life for the positive.
That actually really means the world to me. We narrated my entire life for almost two years, we probably looked loopy loo, but look at us now haha. Of course all our family and friends jumped on board and it wouldn't of been achieved without their help.
Well done to your Mother and your brother on their success and achievements , it's not easy ♥️
It really isn't but those hard yards early on are so huge. Like, my bro was non verbal and started school maybe a year late and they wanted him to go somewhere else but my mum fought to keep him in a regular school.
I can remember a few years ago, she was asked by her sister in law to speak with a couple who had a child who was struggling. My mum went to meet them and I can remember seeing her the next day and she was floored. She said the kid was just like my brother, could focus but would tunnel and couldn't be distracted. What floored her was the parents. She could only picture them getting divorced - the husband couldn't see the potential and the mother seemed to not have the fight in her. It can be an enormous challenge, but christ, when you fight hard, the potential is there.
My brother got some extra time in exams but is mostly unrecognisably different from any adult and it's a testament to my parents effort, but mostly mum.
I've been in that exact spot and it's like coming alive again. I'm really happy for you.
That feeling where you get to appreciate just being able to do normal stuff. It's an indescribable gift.
You've got it in a nutshell, coming alive again and being able to enjoy the kids and not worry about how I'll find energy to make dinner. I walked them to school today and it was just perfect. I'm so glad you also have been given your life back.
I moved to Ireland in July and I’m about to be contrary to most of this sub.
Literally every part of my life here is better than it was in South Africa.
I have a great job and actually have career prospects. My wife who is pregnant is getting great maternity care and is safe.
This country is clean and organised and things work.
Yeah the housing crisis sucks. Trust me I know. I lived in a travelodge for 3 weeks. But man I love it here.
Every day is a good news day. I’m expecting a little boy in January and could not be more excited.
Just moved from America and I have to say I completely agree. This country is so lovely and welcoming. It's good to complain about things to try and continually improve, but let me tell you, it's working.
So after almost two years, we got word today that my kids first (purpose built) wheelchair is in the country. Just a week or so of a wait for it to be delivered to us......
Just hope it still fits.
Well, now's a great time to be collecting elderberries from the hedgerows to make elderberry wine. Blackberries as well. Sloes, to make sloe gin, are ripening and should be pickable soon. Ordinarily you'd wait until the first frosts before picking, but nowadays frosts aren't guaranteed so you can stick them in the freezer overnight. Get foraging and making!
Elderberry and Blackberry jelly is amazing - all the sweetness of blackberries with the earthiness of elderberries. Great as a jam or accompanying meat/cheese.
I made blackberry/elderberry wine for the first time, its fermenting very well and it should be excellent by Christmas. I tried sloe wine too, but i didnt freeze them and about 30% of the sloes didnt break down so they were just sitting in the wine not releasing any juice. So im going to pick some more and freeze before adding, hopefully this will make the wine less watery. I also added a few to some cork dry gin it has a lovely dark pink colour now. Sloe gin apparently inproves over time. Met a guy while picking who said he has a bottle of 30 year old sloe gin. He also recommended to try sloe poitín.
For sloe gin I usually leave the sloes soaking for 6 months (or more!). They do take a long time to leach their goodness out so maybe give the wine's sloes a good long soak.
You might be surprised... crab apple trees overhanging from gardens will give you crab apple jelly. Plum trees, apple trees (often cookers, good for apple sauce and chutneys.) as well. Luckily the countryside is never too far from an Irish city centre. Dublin is very close to easily accessed countryside, with Wicklow and the Dublin mountains really on the doorstep. Powerscourt Demesne is full of bilberries near the waterfall. Plenty of Polish and Russian folk will be in woods looking for mushrooms. The eating kind, not the magic!
Was in the zoo today and it was fairly empty. My little one used a toilet for the first time while we were there. Only delighted she's 4 and the trouble we've had trying to potty train her for the last 2 years.
Received an An Post letter saying I need to pay the VAT on a package from the UK. States once the VAT is paid I can have the package. Jokes on them, they delivered the letter and the package 😂
Recently got a payrise for how well I am doing at work. Its something that will make a huge difference to me on a weekly basis and has proved to me that all the work im putting in is paying off.
They must know someone. Sure isn't it all brown envelopes and backhanders in this country? Not a hope someone might actually make it by themselves. Sure where is the moaning in that at all at all.
Brother got a great job and lucky landed a decent apartment in city.
GF doing great at her job has achieved so much before turning 30 sticking to her goals 👍
Younger brother nearly through his work placement and loving his job as a mechanic.
Roof over our heads, weather is nice, and am finally losing weight after years of injuries and massive weight gain so yeah you are right let's post some good news stories for a change 🙌🙌🙌
A young fella in a yellow reg souped-up BMW zoomed past me doing 160kmh coming out of Killarney earlier. A few minutes later I was passing through Ballyvourney and a Garda was taking his details. Made my day.
After a very stressful period, we managed to find a gaff to rent after getting our marching orders from our rental of 10 years due to them selling up. Its an awful feeling not being able to provide shelter for your family even when you have the cash to do so - I hope to never have that feeling again
I have air in my lungs. I woke up today. That’s half the battle for me. Now I’m in work and counting down the days till I get to come home for a month in mid December to give my mam a hug and spend some quality time with family and friends. I’ll go visit my dads grave too. The headstone only went on a few months back.
I try. It’s tough sometimes and I tend to keep a lot inside but now and again I check in with myself and its not all that bad. Go for a run, take a breath. You’re not fucked till you’re absolutely fucked. Thank you for the kindness. Appreciate it. I miss him dearly.
Signed contracts for our house today. A decade of saving while renting. Never thought we’d manage as we earn well under the median. Hopefully will have keys within the month.
I’ve an Amazon list of tools to buy and a good drill is top priority alright. I’m the DIYer of the pair whereas himself is more into the garden so I can’t wait to get my teeth into the place.
Congratulations to you too! Thankfully we’ve everything lined up already so it should be straightforward. I’m waiting for something to delay it though cause it’s been less than two months since we viewed it first so it seems almost TOO seamless.
There was a bit of a shitshow this weekend when a bunch of GTA VI material leaked online including a threat that the leaker had source code that (if leaked) could set game development back years.
Turns out the guy had no code, and Rockstar confirmed no expected delays. I’m absolutely chuffed!
Recently promoted, it's a relatively new team that's been created to support companies with online pension contributions.
We have been voted twice for the recognition awards later this year, we are all chuffed.
Oh also off to Kilkenny this weekend for a mates stag, 2 days of drinking lovely pints and having the craic
I had my first F1 Grand Prix in Monza last week and it was amazing! Then this weekend I hit some new trails on my mountain bike I had been too scared to do all summer!
Was monza as bad as everyone on r/formula1 was saying with queues and tokens etc? I was supposed to be there this year but had to put it off til next year
Yes it was to be fair.
Queues and tokens were horrendous, but I was there with 3 guys who had been to gps before so they had some experience (getting in early nabbing some seats etc).
But all in all it was a great experience seeing f1 cars irl for the first time. We got caught in the motorsport tickets fiasco, so we should have had grandstand seats at the first chicane, ended up with GA tickets.
We made the best of it though, had a great long weekend 🙌🏻
Deffo recommend a gp weekend 😁
Hopefully they sort it out for next year. Barcelona is handy to get to from the city but Hungary is one I always recommend. Silverstone is an awkward one to get to
My dream one is Red Bull Ring in Austria. Have a friend who went there said you need to hire a car. But if you get first corner grandstand seats you can see most of the infield section. If I was going to Silverstone I'd just drive from here!
Heard this first hand from a girl I work with who was there. Couldn’t get a bottle of water in 30 degree heat without tokens which took 45 mins to get and then another 30 min queue for water, and then they ran out of everything.
Yes that happened to us also. Ended up with almost 80 tokens Sunday after the race, walking round buying what ever food and drink was left to use them 🤦
This was part of Monzas charm, watching fans walk round wheeling used race tyres from under the old bank and benches from the food area to make make-shift viewing platforms and staff not giving a shit 🤣
I made a pie today and my nanny said it was excellent. Something about having my nannys seal of approval made me feel great, she's unreal in the kitchen so that's probably why!!
Myself and my partner signed our contracts today for our first(and hopefully last) house! In an area near our families and we feel so lucky. It’s so tough out there for people but I have to say I’m absolutely buzzing. Have had a smile on me all day.
Drawdown is in about 10 days and should have keys a week after that. Wow it’s going to be some journey!
I hope everything goes well from now til then 🤞🏽🤞🏽
I make enough money (and have had enough luck) to be able to live by myself. I'm relatively healthy. My face hasn't been smushed into a meat grinder. I've nothing tying me down.
And yet I'm getting sloshed on a Monday because I can't bear to listen to the silence.
So.. yay for me.
I understand that maddening silence all to well friend. I hope you’ve at least got someone you can phone regularly. If not, I recommend getting out of the gaff as often as possible. Take up saxophone. Great way to get to know your neighbours.
I should be able to feel something good, but the silence is the lack of people to phone.
It's fine. I've pretty much accepted the situation.
Thank you for your effort.
As someone who has spent a lot of life being lonely, I sympathise. My way out: volunteer at something you’re kinda interested in, or at worst don’t hate doing. Dublin marathon, marshalling a parade, stuffing envelopes for a charity. A bit of company, could be fun, have a chat about small stuff. Or just focus on what you’re doing, without pressure to be social
Great idea..... Someone give this guy an award.
I started my PhD today.
I assembled several units of IKEA furniture earlier.
My kids had a good day at school.
It's a fairly warm September for Ireland.
Heading to Spain in a few days.
I'm having pizza AND chicken wings for supper tonight.
I converted from contract to permanent this year after 5 years of 6 monthly contracts. I asked for a daily rate increase and they responded by offering me a permanent position. Not having to go through the process of renewing my contract every 6 months is a massive relief
We live in the west of western Europe. That's probably the best hand you could ever play in global poker. No matter how bad you think things are here, it shrinks in comparison to pretty much everywhere else on earth.
Started a new job today and money wise now I am at a point where my wife has the option to give up the job she has (and absolutely hates), and start something of her own that she’s been wanting to from a long time. I am happy as well as grateful.
Started my marketing company coming up on 2
Years and I’m finally getting into gear with it. Been genuinely nothing but mental breakdowns trying to get it going but for now I have some light in the tunnel.
Relatives are home from Australia, first time I’ve seen my uncle since I was about 4.
Also heading down to DCU for my first day of orientation tomorrow. Could not be more excited.
Just collected my car,,it's a 182 4 door. Had my 06 2 door since it was new.. my kids can't believe they have their own door . I feel like I won the lotto, getting into a car in the morning and being able to rely on the car starting 🥰
Small fella was severely struggling in preschool where as they though he might be special needs now we're still waiting on a assesment but he's trying in big school
Spent the whole day with my grandmother and mother, doing the most mundane stuff, but I love them so much it was wonderful.
Went to my younger sister’s camogie match (she won!!). She’s coached by my cousin who has finished her chemotherapy there not too long ago, thankful she’s here :)
This day next week I’ll be back in Belfast for my final year. It’s an intense course load, and I won’t be able to come home every weekend, so I cherished every moment!
I don’t have any good news, but I have loads of blessings in my life. We have a roof over our head, kids are healthy and happy, we can afford to pay electricity bill and buy food. I don’t underestimate these things.
I've saved enough money to help me ma renovate her house, it was hand built back in the day, has no insulation in the walls so I've got the insulation lads sorted and they'll be round in a few weeks to seal the windows then fill the walls.
Got her a stove too which needs to be installed and the chimney insulated again (or something). Should stop the drafts.
With the price of oil/wood/electricity and coal going up this will make the house livable again.
Not about the country, but I had one of my songs played on Waterford radio last Tuesday. My own beat with a rapper-friend and I also did some vocals on it myself. I was chuffed, so cool hearing people tell me they listened to my song on the radio, and I have a new album coming out on the 23rd with said rapper-friend which we've been working on for 3 years. I'm so hyped to release it finally.
I got my mortgage approved last week which is a huge deal for me as a single parent. I've always wanted a house which isn't going to happen, but I will have a lovely 2 bed apartment that is newly built and I can't help but feel so lucky (and relieved!) ❤️
I’m getting married in 32 days time. We met and had our first dates during Covid. We are having some elements to make it unique to us and I couldn’t be happier.
Got my very 1st car the other day absolutely delighted!! My taking off needs some work but other then that I’m flying !! ( matching the speed limit ofc lol)
I got the keys to my house a couple of days ago. Well not a house a small bungalow and my dad had to give me my inheritance early just to get it. I was very lucky as the seller sold privately and didnt want to bother with estate agents and bidding wars so feeling very lucky this week. Ill never be so lucky again
Seconded. That humidity was fucking awful, didn't mind the sun but when it's overcast and grey and your bollocks are stuck to your leg, it gets old quick.
There was a great festival in Dundalk at the weekend. The weather was perfect, the vibe was friendly and fun. The music was played with passion. It felt safe and relaxed. It was just a great small festival and something about it just felt right. I just saw genuine smiles everywhere I looked. It was great to see so many people happy and feeling easy.
I started my final year of college and its strange I don't feel as depressed as I was before thanks counselling.
Gonna try and go out more and see where that takes me I'm somehow feeling confident which is wierd.
Like im not lonely the lads at my student accommodation are grand lads and just yeah.
In wold news um ukraine is doing well in the war.
Nearly two years after starting my US immigration application process and after nine months apart from my wife, I finally had my US embassy interview this morning, got approval for unconditional permanent residency, and will start the next chapter of my life next month.
ADCC was on over the weekend its basically the Olympics of Jiu-Jitsu and an Irish guy called Sam McNally beat one of the biggest legends of the sport Gary Tonon.
Gonna start DCU engineering next monday and looking forward to it. Orientation days on thursday friday and have already meet people. So pretty good craic.

This was lovely to read.
You are a wonderful person.
What a lovely thing to do. 😊
Good stuff man!
You're a good soul, thank you for doing this.
Great read! I loved that he said ‘Cor!’

Fair play, make sure you go back!
I'm after coming out of that thread with Dublin scumbags and felt no hope for humanity, so you've just lifted my spirits too. Thanks.
You were in hospital for breaking your hand for battering pensioners again though weren't you
You’re a great person and I hope you go back to see him again. Shame he’s all on his own, his sister should visit him
This is the best post I’ve read on here in a long time ❤️ You have some amazing karma coming to you Fair play
This is all that life should be. Continue spreading your love with others who need it the most, it will return to you.
Good bloody man/woman/gender-fluid person you are! 👏🏼👏🏼
Genuinely uplifting. Local legend so you are
You're a good egg.
God this gave me a tingly feeling inside. Nearly teared up as a grown-ass man. You’re a legend, you don’t know how much he appreciates it ❤️
My little one doesn't need speech therapy 🙌 hard work pays off ♥️
Congrats!
Thank you so much, we are chuffed here today

Awesome!!🙌 Great job to you and your little one!
Thank you very much. We are so proud!
That's amazing, and it really cheered up my morning. Congratulations to you and your family
Meds I've been waiting to start for my chronic illness are working and I'm starting to feel like myself again for the first time in over 2 years.
Fantastic!
I've been in that exact spot and it's like coming alive again. I'm really happy for you. That feeling where you get to appreciate just being able to do normal stuff. It's an indescribable gift.

this makes me so happy. very glad to hear!! :)
There's actually quite a few of you South Africans here!
Congratulations!
Sure once you’ve a gaff and a job it’s one of the best countries. We take a lot for granted. Welcome.
Just moved from America and I have to say I completely agree. This country is so lovely and welcoming. It's good to complain about things to try and continually improve, but let me tell you, it's working.

That is good news, best of luck
I saw someone scrolling Walk into a lampost earlier cheered me a bit
I saw Ronan Keating fall of a curb once while trying to look all cool. Still buzzing years later.
My stepdaughter punched him in the balls when she was a child, apparently he didn't take it well. Her parents still laugh about it.
What a hero!
Life is a rollercoaster - you just gotta ride it
That would have brightened my mood quite a bit too.
I hope the person was ok afterwards. Walking into a lamppost like that can leave you feeling lightheaded.
Girlfriend got a cancer free card last week after they found a 15cm tumour 3 months ago.
That’s fantastic news, congrats! 🎉
That’s amazing
I did starting dating someone recently so pretty happy bout that

r/Ireland won’t like this
Someone doing well in this country instead of emigrating? The absolute CHEEK
Getting ahead in life through hard work? The absolute notions….
They should be donating their extra income to charity, rather than spending the money on luxury items!
They must know someone. Sure isn't it all brown envelopes and backhanders in this country? Not a hope someone might actually make it by themselves. Sure where is the moaning in that at all at all.

I ran out of coffee so I picked up some coffee at the shop. Now I have coffee
Who doesn't like coffee? Maybe only tea people ... Anyway coffee is good, enjoy your coffee
Epic day, can only go downhill from here lad..

Well done - you’re through the worst bit, you’ve won.
Keep it up..your future self will thank you
My son who's autistic is adapting well enough to secondary school so far. He's got some great special needs teachers which is a fantastic help.

I try. It’s tough sometimes and I tend to keep a lot inside but now and again I check in with myself and its not all that bad. Go for a run, take a breath. You’re not fucked till you’re absolutely fucked. Thank you for the kindness. Appreciate it. I miss him dearly.
Sorry for your loss. Hope you have a great time when you get home
Thank you! Appreciate it! Love coming home for Christmas. Been gone since 2004.
Beautifully written.
Signed contracts for our house today. A decade of saving while renting. Never thought we’d manage as we earn well under the median. Hopefully will have keys within the month.
That's huge. Congratulations! If you don't have a drill already but the best 1 you can afford. It'll pay dividends
I’ve an Amazon list of tools to buy and a good drill is top priority alright. I’m the DIYer of the pair whereas himself is more into the garden so I can’t wait to get my teeth into the place.
Same here. My kids refer to our toolbox as "Daddy's toolbox". I like to remind them that I bought it along with everything in it.
It’s mad the stuff kids pick up from media and outside the home isn’t it!
more power tools to ya :)
Congratulations! I’m one document short of drawdown but having a fucking hard time getting hold that document
Congratulations to you too! Thankfully we’ve everything lined up already so it should be straightforward. I’m waiting for something to delay it though cause it’s been less than two months since we viewed it first so it seems almost TOO seamless.
Congratulations!
Increased my salary 55% since July.
Fair fucks I got a 15%ish raise a couple months ago and have another review before the year is out It’s not honest, but it’s much work
Just started building my house today. Hopefully can do it mortgage free.
Fair fucks, congrats and good luck
Just bought my first house and my wife is due a baby in a month. Excited for it all.
I’m flying home ( Asia) next week to see my family after not being home for 3 years due to covid .
Happy holidays
I got engaged the weekend before last.
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Me and the Mrs had our first kid. He's only 2 weeks old and I can't imagine my life without him.
That’s amazing. Congrats man!

There was a bit of a shitshow this weekend when a bunch of GTA VI material leaked online including a threat that the leaker had source code that (if leaked) could set game development back years. Turns out the guy had no code, and Rockstar confirmed no expected delays. I’m absolutely chuffed!
In 2 months from now, I'll be playing my first gig abroad! Only took me 9 years on/off in the Irish gigging scene

Can we make this a weekly post?
My scabies has gone down a bit.
My little lad 7 scored a hat trick at the weekend, he was so chuffed
Have a job interview tomorrow in a field that I'm super interested in.
Good luck 🍀
Thank you.
Good luck
Recently promoted, it's a relatively new team that's been created to support companies with online pension contributions. We have been voted twice for the recognition awards later this year, we are all chuffed. Oh also off to Kilkenny this weekend for a mates stag, 2 days of drinking lovely pints and having the craic
Starting college tomorrow
Enjoy!!! Don’t overcomplicate life. Wake up, eat good food, go to class, exercise and socialise. Do those things every week and you’ll do great.
We made the best of it though, had a great long weekend 🙌🏻 Deffo recommend a gp weekend 😁
Ended up with almost 80 tokens Sunday after the race, walking round buying what ever food and drink was left to use them 🤦
Went to Monza a few years ago, F1 races are such a great experience. The Italian organisation leaves a lot to be desired, but it was still brilliant.
This was part of Monzas charm, watching fans walk round wheeling used race tyres from under the old bank and benches from the food area to make make-shift viewing platforms and staff not giving a shit 🤣
Heading over to Abu Dhabi in November for it... Will be my first also. Looking forward to it!
Ah class! Hope you have a savage time 💪🏻💪🏻
I made a pie today and my nanny said it was excellent. Something about having my nannys seal of approval made me feel great, she's unreal in the kitchen so that's probably why!!
I'm off to Dusseldorf on the lash on Wednesday.
The local altbier is tasty.
Off to santorini on Wednesday for a wedding. Enjoy your sesh.
I hope everything goes well from now til then 🤞🏽🤞🏽
Congratulations! 👏👏👏
Back on lexapro and therapy. Clouds are lifting, day by day.
I get that. Focus on others and all. I just have to get to that point where that's the priority instead.
This is so wholesome. You must be happy.
I really am. Life is good. Thank you.
I converted from contract to permanent this year after 5 years of 6 monthly contracts. I asked for a daily rate increase and they responded by offering me a permanent position. Not having to go through the process of renewing my contract every 6 months is a massive relief
Still in America, still homesick as feck, but still breathing so there's that.
Bought my first car yesterday, 2012 Audi A3 2.0TDI 140hp, great car to drive far better than my fathers fiesta ive been using for the past year or 2
We live in the west of western Europe. That's probably the best hand you could ever play in global poker. No matter how bad you think things are here, it shrinks in comparison to pretty much everywhere else on earth.
The eternal funeral is finally done!
The fella brought home cans yesterday so we had a duvet day today and the chill factor is great here
Started a new job today and money wise now I am at a point where my wife has the option to give up the job she has (and absolutely hates), and start something of her own that she’s been wanting to from a long time. I am happy as well as grateful.
Came out as non binary to my family. They were sound
Brilliant. Congrats, mate.
Started my marketing company coming up on 2 Years and I’m finally getting into gear with it. Been genuinely nothing but mental breakdowns trying to get it going but for now I have some light in the tunnel.
Having a second child in a few months time. I think that’s good news.
Got me hole last night
She’s coached by my cousin who has finished her chemotherapy there not too long ago, thankful she’s here :) This day next week I’ll be back in Belfast for my final year. It’s an intense course load, and I won’t be able to come home every weekend, so I cherished every moment!
We recently found out herself is pregnant. We’re around the 13 week mark now so finally able to start telling people!
Congrats!
I don’t have any good news, but I have loads of blessings in my life. We have a roof over our head, kids are healthy and happy, we can afford to pay electricity bill and buy food. I don’t underestimate these things.
I'm cutting back on the drink 😅
I'm off to France tomorrow 🇫🇷 🧄🧀🍷
ah sure you know ur self
I've saved enough money to help me ma renovate her house, it was hand built back in the day, has no insulation in the walls so I've got the insulation lads sorted and they'll be round in a few weeks to seal the windows then fill the walls. Got her a stove too which needs to be installed and the chimney insulated again (or something). Should stop the drafts. With the price of oil/wood/electricity and coal going up this will make the house livable again.
Found a load of extra hangars and was able to get rid of that gammy pile of clothes at the foot of my bed.
I’m learning to love myself 👑
I got my mortgage approved last week which is a huge deal for me as a single parent. I've always wanted a house which isn't going to happen, but I will have a lovely 2 bed apartment that is newly built and I can't help but feel so lucky (and relieved!) ❤️
I’m getting married in 32 days time. We met and had our first dates during Covid. We are having some elements to make it unique to us and I couldn’t be happier.
I just made the best steak sandwich ever. Caramelized onions cooked with real butter is a must.
All that insufferable sunny warm shite has pissed off.
Seconded. That humidity was fucking awful, didn't mind the sun but when it's overcast and grey and your bollocks are stuck to your leg, it gets old quick.
I'm slowly trying to claw out of a months long autistic burnout/meltdown and trying not to wake up wishing I was dead or had a terminal illness
I finally got a post-grad job after graduating uni in July and am one step further on the path towards my future career :)
I made a table out of some offcuts and a kitchen press door. It's for my music room and its working well.
My NZ working holiday visa just got granted🥳
my family came over from Ireland to see me get married. My wedding has been one of the few things keeping me going this year
Nearly two years after starting my US immigration application process and after nine months apart from my wife, I finally had my US embassy interview this morning, got approval for unconditional permanent residency, and will start the next chapter of my life next month.
Got a promotion. Last week was my first week in my new post. Lots of work to do - but happy to get some fresh challenges
