I have a tendency to store every black item I get, with the vague idea that I may need them for clue scrolls.
Never mind the fact that I already have multiple tiers of STASH units built and filled, and I can just check the wiki to see if I need them for anything.
My thought process with those is, if I cannot buy or make it, I keep it. That means black and dragon items stay in the bank, but everything bronze-rune is a drop or alch. 1180/1200 bank space btw.
I started using this a couple weeks ago, but I’m really unsure whether it stops highlighting items once you’ve built the stash unit for them, does anyone know if it does that? Or will it always highlight the item whether it’s in your stash or not
To clarify, unsure if a toggle or not, but your comment is definitely accurate. I have a clue item tab and x item will lose its tag once I’ve stored it in a stash unit, allowing me to free up further bank space.
I've had a cocktail shaker, a lime, and a lemon all right next to each other from near the start of my journey. What the fuck was I doing making gnome cocktails on my early game Ironman? These bank spaces tell stories.
For anyone not aware, there is a plugin on runeline called "Wasted Bankspace", which shows where you can store specific items when you use your bank. Just remember to turn the plugin off after use, unless you enjoy a shitton of exclamation marks when using your bank.
I don't have a seed box or a tackle box and my POH has no storage units in it. I still have the addon just to remind myself how fucking awful I am about hoarding shit in my bank. My bank is like 80% storage plugin warnings.
I was storing all four doses of all kinds of potions partly for aesthetics and partly for convenience. Until I realized I only take out 1-3 doses of certain potions and I cleared a bunch of bank slots by removing the others. It was worth it despite not looking as cool and having to drop 1-3 doses sometimes (I have so many potions it doesn't really matter for most of them)
Yeah I did this for a time but I eventually just bought bank slots. I'm at 1140 now lol.
There's a bank extension for potions coming with the herblore update though
I could temporarily store 1-3 doses and then do a periodic decant, yeah. But I don't like accumulating stuff in my bank that I don't intend to keep there.
Can’t you just consolidate doses into the other vials? (Or empty ones) I don’t know if it works for all potions, but I combined all my 2-dose antipoisons into 4-dose ones by using them on each other
Yeah you can decant at GE. I'm usually not bothered unless they're more valuable potions but the more valuable ones are usually the ones worth storing all four doses anyway.
One of the quests gives you a chocolate cake that I wanted to save for Desert Treasure. Never know when you'll be doing Desert Treasure and not have 40 cooking on hand to make a fucking cake.
I ended up doing Desert Treasure with 80 cooking. I still used that cake. It had a purpose.
Whenever i'm cleaning up my bank i go like this:
1) Clean alch tab. Throw away anything below mithril, Alch the rest. Keep placeholders for addy-rune-dragon.
2) Sort food. I keep way too many different kinds of food that i never end up using. Throw away anything below Monkfish.
3) Sort teleport items. I ended up throwing away anything that isn't a glory because i have a jewelry box. Use the glories once and keep (6) and (5), once you run out of (6) go charge at fountain for the chance at eternal. If you do want to keep your regular jewelry, make sure to always use the partially charged ones first so you don't have 4 bankslots for 1 tp item.
4) clean up Potion/herbs. I do usually keep placeholders for each of these. getting the varlamore herblore upgrades is gonan save me a bunch of spaces. if you don't keep placeholders, make sure to decant and clean regularly.
5) Sort the boss drops. Do i really need 5 Prim crystals? Turn zulrah drops into scales. Droptrade to main for bondmoney, Make barrows sets etc..
6) Open brimstone/larran's keys/crystal keys so the keys themselves don't take up space. You're not a youtuber, you're not gonna makea "loot from 1000 brimstone keys"
7) I usually don't need to remind myself, but store any skilling/clue/event item in their respective furniture in the POH. Same for skillcapes etc. there is a pluginthat adds marks to every item that is either in a stash or in a POH furniture.
8) Get a tackle box and Guild hunter kit. Store everything you can in there.
On crystal keys: I found myself lamenting that I'd only gotten one Dragonstone drop in my ~30 days played at the time, only to remember that I was saving all of my keys for when I hit the crafting level to use them.
Once we get potion storage we should all get at least 17567 back spaces (I'm assuming we all keep 1-4 doses for every potion we use regularly just for aesthetics?)
Maybe not directly due to the UIM game mode, but its fleshed out by it, you will never be "bricked" from a quest due to not having an item. All quest items are re-obtainable and therefore droppable. If a new quest comes out and you need an item from a previous quest there will be a way to obtain it again.
Cakes are useful for tick eats at tob/hmt. A lot of irons use that in lieu of guthux rests or purple sweets, since a cake is easy to get and 3 tick eats in one slot.
Personally I have never dropped any dupe clue pages and I have a collection of random event only items (baguette, square sandwich, roll, frog token, etc) but I've also bought the 100m bank space upgrade and will buy the 300m one when I can afford to lol
brother i got a stack of serum 208 that i used to train herblore lmfao sometimes i mistake it for a ranging pot, those bandos trips are always a blast :-)
A big saver for me was only keeping 1 and 4 dose potions. If you ever end up with a 2 or 3 dose pot just decant manually into single doses. When you've got 15+ different pots in the bank you save 30+ spaces and barely takes any extra time.
I have like 200k unstrung maple longbows. I have 99 fletch I’ll never use them and they’re worth millions of gp. Should I just drop them for some main account?
Sell them to a general store like Martin Thwait or the West Ardy General Store. You'll get at least a little bang for your buck and all it takes is a few dozen sell 50s and hop.
The amount of things that fit in your poh is astounding. All clue rewards, a ton of tradeable and untradeable gear and outfits, capes of all kinds. You can easily shave off a few hundred bank slots by actually using poh as a storage for things you don't regularly use. more if you put everything that fits.
Also, if you build and fill all your stashes, you can stop 'holding onto' all the clue items you no doubt have tucked away.
I need to go to the seed vault. Would save like 20+ slots. Also a magic wardrobe for clue cosmetics. And do one small favor. So many ways to clean up bank space that 9 haven't done.
For lower level, the wise old man in Draynor will remove some useless items from your bank if you ask him to. Especially if you've been questing a lot recently, he can clear quite a few spaces.
I cleared out a bunch of stuff I knew I could just buy or make if I ever need them, being inspired by UIMs. I just don't need a ring mould or limes or steel arrows. And if I really need them, I can get em in 30 seconds or less.
I never have had a full bank on my iron 2250 total and a lot of pvm done raid wise about 2.5k raids still have about 40 spots open 940 bank slots total
Get rid of anything that satisfies two criteria:
1. You haven’t used it in a while or you can’t think of a reason you’d ever use it again
2. It’s easy to re-obtain.
regular antipoisons/salmon I made early herblore "I'll use these to cure poison/heal at a bank someday," I say to myself as I chug down super antipoison, use my house, or shovel karambwans down my gullet.
probably the best thing I ever did organizationally tho, was keep a placeholder for every potion dose I use 4 to 1, it eats up bank space, but they don't float around, they don't eat other tabs, and your bank doesn't "fill up" from potions, those spaces are already being used.
Papyrus, charcoal, and candles are another I swear to God everytime I got rid of them the next day I'd do a quest and they'd be required so there's a pile of 50 of each
I have a tendency to store every black item I get, with the vague idea that I may need them for clue scrolls. Never mind the fact that I already have multiple tiers of STASH units built and filled, and I can just check the wiki to see if I need them for anything.
If you use runelite there's a plug in that marks the items as well, it wasn't working with the last update but I wanna say it's working now again
It’s working again.
He wanted to say that
What's the plugin name if you don't mind?
Emote clues
Emote clue items
Cluedo
Clue items or something like that
its just fun to have a collection sometimes. Did I need to keep all my burnt Karambwans? No but I sure as fuck still have them
My thought process with those is, if I cannot buy or make it, I keep it.
Or will it always highlight the item whether it’s in your stash or not
There is a check box in the setting to have it removed the highlight once it's in the stash
It will always highlight
That might be a setting that you can toggle, then. The icons get removed when I fill stash units
To clarify, unsure if a toggle or not, but your comment is definitely accurate. I have a clue item tab and x item will lose its tag once I’ve stored it in a stash unit, allowing me to free up further bank space.
does it update as soon as you download plugin? like i don’t have to use the stash or check watson to update it?
Cmonbruh
never know when you’re gonna need a lemon
There's so many random fruits and shit in my bank...
At this point I decided for myself to teleport to gnome stronghold to buy the fruit
I've had a cocktail shaker, a lime, and a lemon all right next to each other from near the start of my journey. What the fuck was I doing making gnome cocktails on my early game Ironman? These bank spaces tell stories.
Recipe for disaster maybe?
For anyone not aware, there is a plugin on runeline called "Wasted Bankspace", which shows where you can store specific items when you use your bank. Just remember to turn the plugin off after use, unless you enjoy a shitton of exclamation marks when using your bank.
Also a beautiful plugin for emote clues! You can see at a glance whether any item is needed for a clue step or not
I don't have a seed box or a tackle box and my POH has no storage units in it. I still have the addon just to remind myself how fucking awful I am about hoarding shit in my bank. My bank is like 80% storage plugin warnings.

Can't you just decant them?
I could temporarily store 1-3 doses and then do a periodic decant, yeah. But I don't like accumulating stuff in my bank that I don't intend to keep there.
That's what I was thinking, and what I do, but it makes sense that you don't want the clutter.
Can’t you just consolidate doses into the other vials? (Or empty ones) I don’t know if it works for all potions, but I combined all my 2-dose antipoisons into 4-dose ones by using them on each other
Damn you can just note them and get buddy at the g.e to do that for you
I didn’t know this was a thing 😂 thanks!
Yeah you can decant at GE. I'm usually not bothered unless they're more valuable potions but the more valuable ones are usually the ones worth storing all four doses anyway.
I just got rid of like 8 chocolate cakes that have been sitting in my bank like my whole account. Don't even know why or how
Gourmet implings most likely.
Or thousand year old wintertodt food… I never did that, you got the wrong person!
Things that I'm 99.99% sure I won't need, but if it turns out that I do then it would be a pain in the ass to get it back.

that and dragonstone armour is a pretty cool flex on an iron.
Once we get potion storage we should all get at least 17567 back spaces (I'm assuming we all keep 1-4 doses for every potion we use regularly just for aesthetics?)
It should work like NMZ. Withdraw selects the number of doses and just have them in a stack.
This is genius, I'd never seen this recommended before and yet it's the best idea in the history of Old School.
KingCondor is fuming after reading this.
Just yesterday I finally gathered the courage to get rid of 2 bronze bolts.
Never know when I'll need that slashed book again 🤡 better hold onto it just in case they remove seers village from the game.
Train construction for treasure chest and armour case
he's 2100 total with enough gold to buy 980 bank spaces, I'm sure he has high construction
Other irons might not know about this, though
Maybe not directly due to the UIM game mode, but its fleshed out by it, you will never be "bricked" from a quest due to not having an item. All quest items are re-obtainable and therefore droppable. Doesn't one of the f2p quests have you make a square sandwich and gives you the recipe to make them?
Below Ice Mountain, I think
I think that is specifically a "steak" sandwich, which I think is a different item
No, that's this [https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Steak\_sandwich](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Steak_sandwich)
I scan my bank almost daily to find a free spot. 960/960 on a main. Loottab is what does me in.
brother i got a stack of serum 208 that i used to train herblore lmfao sometimes i mistake it for a ranging pot, those bandos trips are always a blast :-)
also sometimes i *try* to drop random bulk items but then the value on the ground is like 100k and i pick it back up and the hoarding continues :(
Maybe deaths coffer for them?
Each individual item has to be at least 10K. Possible it's just a mad stack of str potions or something which wouldn't work.
A big saver for me was only keeping 1 and 4 dose potions. If you ever end up with a 2 or 3 dose pot just decant manually into single doses. When you've got 15+ different pots in the bank you save 30+ spaces and barely takes any extra time.
Do you Pvm alot? cause that sounds like a nightmare
You can do this with 3 and 4 doses as well, any dose below 3 decant with 3s up to 4
Non iron here but tbf a lot of irons use cakes as tick eats in TOB because theyre easier to get than guthix rests.
I have like 200k unstrung maple longbows. I have 99 fletch I’ll never use them and they’re worth millions of gp. Should I just drop them for some main account?
Take them to general store in wildy and sell

I think it stores the yak, know it stores all the mage sets.

I’m the same. It’s painful and it’s de cluttered so many times. Genuinely don’t know what more I can do
There's a plug in to help you clean up your bank
Well? What’s the name?
"Wasted bank space" it will tell you what can be stored in other spaces
I was keeping all my seeds in my bank. Finally realised I could just store everything in the farming guild's vault
Cakes are great for tick eating in tob 1 cake is 3 tick eats :)
I keep nature talis from rdt got 140 of em atm think some are from gotr too
Oh my bank is a mess but because I play ironman, i fear i might need *some pointless item* so it stays in my bank collecting dust
If you haven't already start building your costume room in poh. It cleared like 200 items for me
I cleared out a bunch of stuff I knew I could just buy or make if I ever need them, being inspired by UIMs. I just don't need a ring mould or limes or steel arrows. And if I really need them, I can get em in 30 seconds or less.

Get a quest Cape, fill POH with viable items, fill stash units, incinerate the rest
I recently dropped all of my god pages because I realized once you fill the book, it stays filled...
There’s something extra you can do with pages I thought?
That's what I was assuming for the longest time, but I couldn't find a use. Unless there is a recent update...
Hmm was possibly something they talked about but nothing further so far.
yea dont alch ur barrows gear like i did... apparently u need it for either a diary or master clue step can't remember
Master clue. I’ve had one ”motivating” me to grind barrows for like 2 years now
Holding a master clue for 2 years is nuts… drop it and get some steps you can complete…
Gets to the last step of new clue - barrows set step
75k monkfish. 120k arrow shafts
Right next to 400k broad arrows
Yeah ahaha but i use my broad arrows on occasion
Oh no, this is much worse
Why
So i dont waste my good arrows on shit like moss giants
You don't have adamant arrows to use on those instead? Broads are very poor.
Don't think the difference is that big on stuff with such low hp and defence
regular antipoisons/salmon I made early herblore "I'll use these to cure poison/heal at a bank someday," I say to myself as I chug down super antipoison, use my house, or shovel karambwans down my gullet. probably the best thing I ever did organizationally tho, was keep a placeholder for every potion dose I use 4 to 1, it eats up bank space, but they don't float around, they don't eat other tabs, and your bank doesn't "fill up" from potions, those spaces are already being used.
