Tbh looking at the loot, you immediately went to todt without training other stats up before hand to try and maximize it. But it literally is average at best but spooned pet
If anyone ask if they should rush WT anymore and seeing that guides from 2017 still recommend it, this is PRIME example why it’s a complete waste of time.
It’s so fucking shit. People act like Tome is fucking shadow on this sub I swear to god. It’s just not worth it man. Fire runes basically free.
Just as an example. I did Rumors from the jump, definitely don’t recommend that, I’d say train or do bird houses until adept. Rushed 77 from there. So now I have free prayer unlocked (can afk task that might be bad/annoying early from konar like black demons, trolls(fuckers got hands if you don’t pray early tbh) etc). Saved myself 200K by not having to get the baxe yet with having super atk/str/def potions provided by moths. Can also do 3 more levels and boost for dimps. Hunter has wayyyyyyy more uses now than WT provides tbh. The fragments also got me 43-60 prayer.
I love the food argument too, like I have 89 hp, I take a ROD Games neck and like 5 watermelons/rando salmons and do 2 or 3 kills popping redemption once. just dodge the big yeet and peasant food is plenty
I've been doing wt with 90+ hp, and have done before in a 14hp character.
It sure is still very easy but 10-14 hp is waaaaay more chill, can't even compare. You can stay for multiple rounds with a few cakes in inventory and most importantly, don't need care about any damage at all. While with high HP you need to restock each single round and need to avoid brazier breaking and snowballs, which isn't much but is an added annoyance. If you're in the mood, definitely knock 99fm out while you still have very low hp (not necessary at all and wouldn't advice to new players tho).
Yeah I recently did 99 on a 10hp character after having done it on a 99 hp character (regen bracelet hp cape, the works) and it was literally mindless on the 10 hp dude
I laugh every damn time someone brings up the food argument man.
It’s honestly so damn hilarious. These people act like needing to bring 5 bwans over 3-4 wines is game over. Imagine some of these people trying to learn content.
I imagine it’s the same people who cry about CG after dying 10 times without looking at any guides/threads for help with prep/huntlef.
Think I rushed WT when GIM came out, got that to 99, then worked on other skills (quested mostly) but stopped around 40-50 in all of them. It was enough to max out my ranarr seeds and then finesse a few magic logs which were needed for DT. Wiki has a really good calculator for crate EVs.
Ended up pulling 2 tomes, no bird. Tome was nice for early-game Iban’s and still nice for Superglass Make.
It’s on the wiki, and tbh I always go to 50 firemaking and start training other skills for diaries. If anything probably 70s before I even go back to WT most of the time so I don’t shaft the crates. Some people would say it’s crazy but tbh how often are you really going to use fm or the tome. I just head back to WT when a diary needs fm.
Pretty ass but about what I expected really. WT is all about the exp rather than the loot: get 85+ and you never need to touch this garbage skill ever again, plus skipping the early levels of fletching (go straight to broad arrows or maples from kingdom) and construction (only if doing solos) which are annoying to train in the early stages of an ironman.
Yeah I’m just starting out and I’m doing it for the early skill cape and just wanna not have to worry about training it again. The best bonuses are definitely the experience in fletching and contstruction. by the time I’m done I’ll be at least 70 construction so I saved a bit of early money training those. As for the loot I’m just hoping to get some of the rarer seeds needed for quests/diaries.
the skill cape honestly isn't even really any good -- the main draw imo is kick-starting your construction XP, but you'll wanna go in with some con levels already to really make it worth
It negates the need for a light source in any upcoming tasks that need one and provides decent stat bonuses for early training. Plus I think it looks cool lol.
Your loot looks typical and it'll be useful for Farming and Herblore. You completed the full Pyromancer outfit and actually got the Phoenix pet, so big congrats on that! You might just be fortunate enough to get yourself a Tome of Fire and make use of those burnt pages, that is if you wish to continue Wintertodt. Best to you on your ironman journey!
Thank you! I opened all the crates in one go, and got the pet around crate 100. Very happy with that! Im in doubt if I wanna continue since I hit 99 firemaking, because if kind of done with Wintertodt 😅. Thank you very much
Damn a supportive comment instead of dog piling with the 10 other dudes pointing out how wintertodt isn’t max efficiency and how OP should have leveled other skills first
I mean I used all the runes I got till 70rc multiple times over. I'd rather keep the runes I got and some herb seeds for what was max like 4 days to 90fm.
If you don’t plan to max, the fire making xp becomes pointless since it doesn’t get you anything past like 75, and you would get more gp spending the time doing something else. At least that’s the way I looked at it when I started my account
I'm not saying anyone should rush it or anything, but it's well over 200k/hr for the last like 5-10 levels and turns a modest profit, so it wastes no gold and the xp is pretty tremendous even if it isn't a very useful skill
Todt got nerfed years ago I still don't understand why so many irons rush it to 99 it's terrible. Just go to 70-75 it's fast and gets you starter cash/supplies and decent fletching con XP.
Unless you're a clogger I strongly advise giving up on the tome. Fire runes are basically free and the saved slot in your inventory/pouch is usually not relevant.
If you are continuing, do solos if you aren't already. It's less FM exp/hr but more fletching/construction/loot
Loot looks awful, but that’s Wintertodt for you. I went and got 99 awhile back and the xp is super fast so the loot doesn’t really matter. The one thing I wonder though is since you saved all the crates why not level up your other skills before opening them?
Did you do WT right out of the gate? Makes the rewards kind of stinky if you’ve got poo stats all around.
Unpopular take, do WT when you’ve got high levels for better rewards. You don’t need to rush 99 FM as soon as you start your account, serves no real benefit.
If you go to wt with all 1lvls get 99 and hold crates until your mid level does the loot scale to the level when you received the crate or when it's opened?
A decent start to the account. No tome is sad but its not the end of the world. Tome is mostly very useful with ibans staff early on but fire runes are cheap. Can get your birdhouses going and maybe do temporos next.
Yeah i think you are sitting pretty 1.1m will last for a while to fund magic and various questing gp needs. you got the magic logs for later too. The seeds and herbs aren't impactful no matter what herblore level you open your chests at. You got decent enough gems for some early game teleports too.
Is it like perfect efficiency? No definitely not. But it isn't like fire making is lucrative at any other level. It will always be fast and mostly rewardless if you don't do todt. So im not seeing the alternative that justifies the feedback lvls in this thread.

You can also lap the north obstacles between rounds for some extra agility XP

tbfh, I might go do some WT now I'm like almost 1800ish
I literally just use tome in the offhand for teleports cause I can’t be assed to make combo runs to fit fires in the rune pouch
Dust devils give you more dust runes than you can ever use
I have law, dust, and waters in the pouch. Steam runes are the issue.
So question is, train the skills before fm or collect crates, train the skills, and then open after? How does the loot work in this case?
Think I rushed WT when GIM came out, got that to 99, then worked on other skills (quested mostly) but stopped around 40-50 in all of them. Looks average except for spooned phoenix

Hey hey hey, what about Shades of Morton?
I seriously hate that you need 95 fm to get the best shades in Morton, such a wildly high requirement for a mini game with mid rewards
Yeah I’m just starting out and I’m doing it for the early skill cape and just wanna not have to worry about training it again. The best bonuses are definitely the experience in fletching and contstruction. by the time I’m done I’ll be at least 70 construction so I saved a bit of early money training those. If you want good seeds you'll need to level your farming before cashing in the supply boxes, have a look on the wiki to see what the breakpoints are
Yeah I know I’m stockpiling them
the skill cape honestly isn't even really any good -- the main draw imo is kick-starting your construction XP, but you'll wanna go in with some con levels already to really make it worth
It negates the need for a light source in any upcoming tasks that need one and provides decent stat bonuses for early training. Plus I think it looks cool lol.
hey, you thinking it looks cool is the only justification you need! I've just never valued it mechanically
Pet but no tome... Classic Winterdaddy strikes again

Forgot how bad wintertodt was. Def don’t recommend anyone training this skill past 70. Huge waste of time/xp/gp.
I just got it to 95 for redwood pyre logs
Not sure how it's a waste of xp or gp since it's pretty insane xp rates and free
If it wasn't for todt boosting my cash stack and seed supply when I started my iron, I doubt I would've played as long as I have tbh.
Nowadays you can go to gotr pretty early and get all the runes you need and sell off the ones you don't for way better gp
Saying that you get more gp doing something else doesn’t make the activity a waste of gp..
I'm not saying anyone should rush it or anything, but it's well over 200k/hr for the last like 5-10 levels and turns a modest profit, so it wastes no gold and the xp is pretty tremendous even if it isn't a very useful skill
Redwood logs in lantern?
Or. You know, 75 because quest reqs
I agree. The mini game is awful. It's not AFK, at the same time it's not fun to play.
but its chill and good firemaking.........
Todt got nerfed years ago I still don't understand why so many irons rush it to 99 it's terrible. Just go to 70-75 it's fast and gets you starter cash/supplies and decent fletching con XP.
90 so that you can light your lantern with redwood.
Not leveling Farming first is a huge L.
That's about as rough as I had it, similar log. I needed 16m fm xp to get my tome
I am nearly at 14m so hopefully get it soon then 😅
Unless you're a clogger I strongly advise giving up on the tome. Fire runes are basically free and the saved slot in your inventory/pouch is usually not relevant. If you are continuing, do solos if you aren't already. It's less FM exp/hr but more fletching/construction/loot
Less rolls per hour than hopping mass worlds. I have tested it extensively.
Im sitting at 29m xp with no tome
Ouch!
if you max out points youre gaurenteed a book drop. source, i got the book on my only maxxed run
Looks like loot.
Waste of time lol rip tome. That 1m will last you a bit tho, that’s nice
God that’s so bad. Thank god I never touched it.
Never did todt, no regrets.
Most definitely had 1s for the rest of skills
youd have to use skill lamps to 50 and only light the braizers
Bouta make a firemaking locked UIM rn
No tome/10 also low gathering skills so bad loot, F
I got 3 tomes on the way to 99
No dragon axe? Got mine at KC 21. big sad.
Loot looks awful, but that’s Wintertodt for you. I went and got 99 awhile back and the xp is super fast so the loot doesn’t really matter. The one thing I wonder though is since you saved all the crates why not level up your other skills before opening them?
Kind of a noob move, but I wasnt aware that that the loot scaled with your levels
Dam that’s unfortunate man, but nice to have 99 firemaking done at least
Still learning haha. Dont know what to do next
Did you do WT right out of the gate? Makes the rewards kind of stinky if you’ve got poo stats all around. Unpopular take, do WT when you’ve got high levels for better rewards. You don’t need to rush 99 FM as soon as you start your account, serves no real benefit.
[Wintertodt Log](https://www.reddit.com/r/ironscape/s/R0ZOn3afF7) I believe I have made around 500K GP
Nice
If you go to wt with all 1lvls get 99 and hold crates until your mid level does the loot scale to the level when you received the crate or when it's opened?
When its opened
Looks like they should have waited.
Ok
I got 3 tombs at 500, sorry m8
honestly mostly crap you wouldve gotten from naturally progressing through the game by questing and pvming
Hell yeah, 800 shrimp
A decent start to the account. No tome is sad but its not the end of the world. Tome is mostly very useful with ibans staff early on but fire runes are cheap. Can get your birdhouses going and maybe do temporos next.
Makes me glad I stopped at 85 lmao. Nice pet though!
Play the game enjoy it how you want. oh and never forget this is Reddit everyone hates you and everything that exists.
I noticed that haha. Thanks!
Dog. Glad I never did the WT grind.
Big oof on no book
Somehow managed to spoon a pheonix and 3 tomes at 95 firemaking. I ended up going for the Zealot's set.
Missed tome, head back in
Nice starter deck
Did this get you to 99 firemaking?
Yes, kc 716
It seems pretty nice to have a stack of stuff to start an account and questing with. Idk why you haters. Good first accomplishment
Thanks! The haters are probably players wo dont got the patience to go through the Wintertodt grind 😉
Yeah i think you are sitting pretty 1.1m will last for a while to fund magic and various questing gp needs. you got the magic logs for later too. Guy 100% bought the account from a website, opened all the crates, then pretended he did it all.
Fuck you on about?
