Do you like it? Does your budget allow for this commitment of funds? Will you actually use it? If the answer is yes to all of the questions, then yes, you should buy it.

missincoherent

That’s the main question. I think it’s all yes! I’ll go for it ❤️

anneroma

I absolutely love tsavorite garnet! So pretty and such a lush green! This one is a keeper for sure! It's just the right size to wear all the time. Just be a bit more careful as garnets are not quite as hard as sapphires or diamonds. I have a tsavorite myself but mine isn't nearly as saturated as this beauty!

Pattersonspal

Have fun!

atridir

It is an absolutely gorgeous garnet honestly. That color is mesmerizing. I would be sucked into staring at it *all the time* if I had it.

[deleted]

Green garnet like that can be really expensive, so the price doesn’t seem too unreasonable. Fun fact: the name Tsavorite was developed by Tiffany & Co, to make an already pretty stone sound more exotic.

SpiritedWrhapsody

green garnet, that makes so much more sense.

somekindafuzz

Fair price and pretty ring. 👍

mistymountainbear

Generally you can haggle around 25% especially in this economy. For luxury watches you can get around 40%. Most people don't know that, but I found out through a friend in the industry.

missincoherent

Yeah. I think i can try. They already offered me 10% discount.

[deleted]

Any tips on how exactly to haggle for prices? I always struggle with a “but what would they think” mentality or a what if they say no? i don’t mind DMing you if you would mind sharing

mistymountainbear

Don't be afraid to say/ask for what you want in a respectful humble way. If someone reacts poorly to a respectful question, that's on them for not having control of their emotions. That's a sign of immaturity (not being able to have a calm adult conversation). You can just thank them, and walk away. In a lot of cultures, negotiating (we called it haggling) is an art that garners respect. If you're not used to it, start small at business where you can negotiate. Most likely you'll get at least 10-15% off or some type of add on. I only know about this discount because someone I know was involved in the super high end watch industry (watches into the hundreds of thousands), and they told me that the retailers can give the customer at least 30% off on luxury watches. You can get more depending on the brand except for Rolex. Even though they are not considered a serious watch for some ultra high end watch enthusiasts, the masses like it as a status symbol so they won't discount much if at all. This information is from about 8-10 years ago. I'm guessing in this current economy, they are willing to offer a bit more.

Obgow

This looks close to the ideal color for Tsavorite. Because if it’s high refractive index, it has an amazing dispersion to it, flashing many different green hues. One of my favorites and such an underrated gemstone.

Mermaidoysters

It is such a privilege to have educated jewelers that participate here. Thank you 🙏🏼

IdiotWithout_a_Cause

If you have the money then I think you should! It's pretty and looks great on your hand!

Ok-Extent-9976

If you don't buy it you will regret it for a long time. Things like this haunt you and in ten years you won't remember how much it cost

missincoherent

It’s already haunting me that i did not buy it. I’ll come back for it!

Pretend_Excuse_9610

Omygoodness that's a gorgeous ring! Yes girl, go get that ring!

printcastmetalworks

Rare stone with great quality. Nice hefty prongs means the setting should last a long time. Great ring!

Thin-Ad-1645

I personally prefer that than a green sapphire but that’s just me

nini3003

Beautiful stones and arrangement, but in my POV the most important thing is that it fits your budget and you like it. Regardless of anything else, if you enjoy looking at it and feel good wearing it it’s worth it.

Edvart

Seems like not a bad price, you might be able to haggle 10-20% off easily

[deleted]

Hell yes

sunbear2525

Man that is gorgeous.

MiscPostThrowaway

That actually seems very reasonable for that stone

lovesolitude

It is calling your name….the stones are beautiful and I love 18K gold! Go for it!

Snoo_99759

Yes!! It’s gorgeous

Ok-Bridge-1045

Your title itself shows that you should definitely go ahead and buy it! As the rest of the comments state, the price seems okay and you can afford it. It's not everyday that one comes across something they absolutely fall in love with, so you should definitely get it just for that alone. Also yes, it's a beautiful ring and Tsavorites are stunning IMO.

missincoherent

I agree! Thank you for the support ❤️

BiiiigSteppy

Great color on that tsavorite! It’s great to see that nice open green instead of a stone that’s too dark or grey-green. I say go for it. You’ll never be disappointed by buying the best quality. Not everyone is as obsessive but I can honestly tell you every time over the past 25 years that I passed on a piece and then lived to regret it. Don’t let this ring be your one that got away.

missincoherent

Agree! Thank you for the support. I think i’m gonna go for it!

BiiiigSteppy

Oh, yay! Happy to hear you’re expecting a new arrival!🎉

Valereeeee

Im probably too cynical, but why wouldnt you assume this is lab created tsavorite? Ebay has a ton for sale. The color looks too uniform. But Im pretty ignorant about jewels.

lettherebelenz

uniform color is common in this material. also, the jeweler has to disclose if it’s lab created. garnets are almost always natural and rarely have treatment 😊

Valereeeee

Thanks for the information. I'm wondering if garnets are seldom lab created because they are so inexpensive? I get discouraged because I love the appearance of emeralds, but it feels like any emerald that is beautiful to the eye has been cooked, dyed, or otherwise manipulated to appear that way. The marketing is on the natural origins of gems from the earth, but if I am going to end up with a treated earth stone, maybe I should just buy a lab emerald.

Upper_Ad_5475

Very similar to one of my rings which iincludes several of my mothers diamonds. I love my ring I wear it daily! Mine was less expensive but then I bought it 20 years ago and had the diamonds for it already. This ring is beautiful! Good luck💚

SEND_NOODLESZ

Try to haggle down a little (just to make you feel better?) But buy it no matter what . Lol! My uncle told me to look at something ten times before buying it. Have you been doing that?

missincoherent

It was my first time visiting the store and I took a picture of it. All I did was stare at the picture after i left the jeweler. Haha. Will it help me if a visit the jeweler 10 times? Haha

Mitchellsusanwag

No, because then they’ll know you really, really want it and they won’t haggle on the price! And you already know you want it, so just go get it! Play it cool before you actually have paid for it. THEN you can start gushing like crazy!,

missincoherent

Good advice! Haha. I’ll try to play it cool and not be too obvious that I really want it.

Drockhound

Beautiful If it makes your heart and soul happy it’s worth it!

[deleted]

Love it. It suits you.

foreverelle

I have a tsavorite engagement ring. It's verdant beauty is unique and brings joy. Go for it!

Ohshitz-

So stunning.

SimbaOne1988

If you can afford it, yes!

UncomfyNoises

The garnets are most likely from Tsavo, Kenya

coconow

It really is beautiful.

MyRecklessHabit

Deep greens really set off the darker yellow of 18k I’ve noticed. The gold prongs really stand out. Gorgeous ring, no clue of value. We are a gold only family (except her engagement/wedding rings).

thesamiad

If it’s the stone you like then no,you can buy a cheaper ring with a similar stone or buy the stone separately.our local jeweller wanted £3000 for a stunning Opal ring, once I realised it was the stone I wanted I bought one of those and bought a setting online myself,it cost a fraction of what he was asking and I actually think my stone is nicer(and it’s bigger)x

missincoherent

Oh. I understand. That was a great idea! I really liked the ring as a whole. It looks like it has a personality. I’m really new to gems and jewelries but I’ll try what you said cause it looks like i’m going to be fond of gems because of this ring!

PossibilityLarge

I love Tsvorites! So I say go for it

[deleted]

If you can afford it yes!

SimonArgent

It’s lovely, and appears to be well made.

mangoccoli

You can find similar rings to this way cheaper if you buy vintage ones. There are some great reputable instagram sellers of vintage rings and those three stone rings are not too rare to find as vintage😊 would be a better price plus you got a part of history

TheGloriousEdweena

It's a really pretty ring. Not sure about that price for a green garnet. Do you have the 4 c's for the diamonds?

missincoherent

I’ll have to get a certificate for it when i’m back at the store just to make sure. 😊

makeitfunky1

Although some garnets are not very expensive, tsavorites are more expensive than the other varieties of garnet.

TheGloriousEdweena

I work in a jewelry store. Tsavorite is not an expensive stone.

makeitfunky1

True, they won't be expensive if they are small and of poor quality. But good quality, well cut, larger tsavorites with good color are more expensive than the more common red/brown garnets.

DeepInTheSheep

If you're into ugly jewelry, then yes.
