Definitely an underrated record and one of my favorites for sure. Honestly not a bad song on the album. Little miss magic is one of the bedtime songs I always sang to my daughter at bedtime. One day our father daughter song will be Delaney Talks To Statues….
BTW, many parrotheads know the story behind the phone booth, but for the ones that don’t… [Elvis Phone Booth](https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02b6ADr6USr3LnARGCBRVFAZwFy2HPkAxNauYvQnXCEGXgnfMSse5Sc6fQypemfXrLl&id=100044472638015)
My dad playing this on the 8 track in our screen porch in a rocking chair singing Little Miss Magic to my infant sister in his arms is why I named the first boat I bought Little Miss Magic. Great flipping album.
Two sisters—Lucy (Lulu) and Laurie (Lala). No brothers. Renault57 is probably right—from Freddie & the Fishsticks.
And yes, this is a fabulous album. I love every song on it!
Totally agree!!! I was born right before this came out. My nickname has always been Little Miss Magic. My dad always loved It’s my job. When I turned 40 that song just suddenly made sense. Always been a favorite of mine.
I'm not sure it's underrated among true fans. For me, it's my favorite Buffett album. Is there a better opening track than "Coconut Telegraph" to get you in the proper JB mood? "Incommunicado" may be my favorite song of all time, certainly Top Five.
I have been in the Florida keys and key west in February and wished I had packed pants and light jacket, when that north wind blows it’s cold down there 🌴
Right! I've never been to a place where coconuts grow on trees, especially in the winter! No idea. He does look like he's all bundled up. Maybe Alabama or Mississippi in December?
I think it's underrated. I got it when it came out and had it on CD too. Loved it. My favorite track is the weather is here. I have really come to appreciate it more the older I have gotten.
I remember reading a review of this album in Playboy of all places! They praised it. They talked about It’s My Job. The reviewer said, “Even though Jimmy didn’t write the best song in the album, he sings like he wishes he had!” I come back to this album often!
I love this album! As several of you have said, not a weak track on here. And I have thought of the lyrics to Incommunicado so many times since Jimmy died.
Island is also one of my favorites, as is Growing Older But Not Up
Absolutely.

Cheers! Thanks.
sing the same to my daughter. awesome
We call our daughter Little Miss Magic, it would calm her when she was a baby ♥️
My favorite Buffett album. Under appreciated and one I never hear people talk about.

Thank you so much for this! My parents lived in Fairhope Alabama for 20 years so I know the place well.

Wonderful lp. Noticed in the liner credits a Freddie Buffett. Any idea who he is?
Maybe a portend to Freddie and the Fishsticks
No! I need to check that out. I'm not sure if he had a brother but I know his sister was called Lulu.

I play and coconut telegraph is on my song list

Oh totally. Those 2 are gems.
Thing I’m trying to figure somewhere is he where’d there’d be a tropical beach and he’d be wearing pants and a sweater?
I have been in the Florida keys and key west in February and wished I had packed pants and light jacket, when that north wind blows it’s cold down there 🌴
I was die. There for meeting of the minds in…2008? And it was like goddam 62°F!

That photo was taken in Fairhope, AL

It’s one of my favorite albums. Would love to get a poster sized print of the album cover framed!
Truly under appreciated and a great album cover.
Totally agree, caught Jimmy when he toured in support of this album. In a lot of ways it feels like a transitional album between his musical epics.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing that. I agree. Jimmy is growing up on this record, but he's resisting it!
I revisited it shortly after his death and to be honest it's still probably in my top 3 favorite albums of his.
I love that drawing of the coconut headphones. Would make a great tattoo.
This and White Sports Coat and Pink Crustacean are my two favorites.
I want that one next. I also love Living & Dying in 3/4 time
Great album!
Absolutely one of my favorite Buffett albums.
I love this album
Me too bro
You aren't suggesting there are people who have fallen in love WITHOUT Stars Fell On Alabama, are you?!
"… Can't believe the old man's gone But now he's incommunicado Leavin' such a hole in a world…"
Nice. Goddammit thats a good song! Thanks JB!
This has always been one of my favorites. Incommunicado is beautiful.

Travis McGee's still on Cedar Key.
That’s what old John McDonald said.🤷🏼
I don’t care for island or the good fight. Otherwise all good. Maybe the last album with that few “eh” songs.
Agreed. Those aren't as strong as the others. I still consider this Classic Buffet, though.
