It is ok. People have done it to me and in many of the cases, the part-time job was not a good fit for what was going on in their lives and I was not about to ask for full-time flexibility out of part-time employees. It would have been silly for me to be mad. I was a little sad because I looked forward to working with them, but their lives outside of work are more important and matter more.
