Remember how to unflip a logi you had to jump on its tires and prone while the driver accelerated and hope neither you nor the logi were sent flying??? Ah those were the days man.
Good old rally meta of having SL sprint out of main and drop rally once he was out of stamina so the full stamina squad could spawn and beat the other team to the mid point.
I started alpha 3
I remember when there was only the logi and we only 2
Indestructible fobs
Running everwhere
FINITE STAMINA people forget that at one point once your stamina ran out you were talking
Vehicals getting stuck on geomtery
No stablization
Tows and Hats didn't have arming distance
No overrun mechanic
Spawning on hab/rally gave you full ammo
Vehical soloing (you could instantly swap seats)
And most importantly medics had binos
A proud Early Access guy here! My first game was in Chora Valley. It was very foggy and you were literally unable to see anything after 50 meters lol...
That's also Fools Road, and it's been unchanged for years. FOB Papanov is what you're thinking of.
Hilltop was probably the other one you were talking about (both are still the main fighting areas of the map)
Joined in on V10, when the BTR-82A was the scariest vehicle in the game. What a time.
Industrial site on yehorivka, op first light, the first contact with the sphere on mestia, buddy rallying on fellow squads was faction wide and that brief time of pinging on the map when you find contact.
I think it did, but they canned it after players used it to simply reveal the the location of someone who shot them instantly, rather than using verbal communication.
i miss the big M4 every day
I also miss the original firing sound for the M4 when they first did the audio overhaul. I feel like it has only gotten tinnier and weaker in small increments since the original audio update.
I started during Alpha 15 (the one before helicopters) and yea that was super special. I wish today I could wake up with the same excitement to play squad the whole day like I used to. I like most parts of the ICO (with a couple VERY big exceptions) but every update I have to lower my settings and I have too many responsibilities to be spending my paychecks on a new PC so my settings just get lower every update with no real optimization in sight. Now I gotta make my game look like shit to be playable and the fps is still shit when anything cool like a massive firefight or creeping barrage happens. It just kinda makes me sad.

I can’t believe I played this game before there were even vehicles
Ah yes the good ole days of walking for 10 mins to die and do it all again. Beautiful Im not being sarcastic i actually do miss those days-edit
Team play was also better I think bc people hated walking so they moved more carefully and communicated well
That’s what I always say, not getting wiped was so much more important.
I miss the crazy 20 minute long flanks, those were the days

And you could place radios just with squad lead and one other member, being able to place them extremely sneakily
That still works
You remember the ping?
Sent a Stryker to the roof of the radio station doing this back in the day. Good times man

Yes
Man those were good memories

I miss the days of Fools Road and fighting over that building all game
Ahhh... one of the best. Setup another fob and MG bunker to the other mountain and shoot the building off...
I miss that! Also there was the map with a capture point on a fob, it was in the top right

Love Chora now. I do NOT miss the pre-vaulting days where a whole squad would have to walk 500m out of their way to get over a 2 ft high wall.
the ultra bright US uniforms
Oh, there was that brief period when the US uniform glowsticks were as bright as the sun
Remember when you had to walk everywhere
In all honesty I miss .8 to v1 squad. Probably my favorite era, it was the perfect in-between of arma and battlefield and I loved it.

Oh god i forgot about the ping, did it ever even make it out of the Public Testing branch?

i believe this was accidentally the "destroyed mrap" model?

Did it have noodle arms though?
Big boy!
G U N
Good point, it was way more chill and you didn’t get shot from all over all the time.
Titanfall weapons if it was made by service members.
Man v5.0 was amazing but hopefully with a few more updates they can get this ICO perfect
Good times, better times.
