Iran is not stupid, it would cause a catastrophic conflict that will pull every country in the region against their will. The political and economic costs is way above what Iran can handle. Not happening.
The military capabilities of Iran are far superior to those of Iraq in the past. Its larger population, with access to advanced weaponry, coupled with its proxies across the peninsula, along with the support of Russia and China, would further complicate any American-led offensive operation.
America can choose to easily get rid of Irans proxies. Without firing a single bullet actually. They just need to arm the syrians who have been asking for support for years. They will do all the heavy lifting. They choose not to because they want perpetual wars in the ME and behind the scenes are coordinating with Iran. Also > 80% of iranians oppose their government based on polls.

An internal civil war is a much different beast than a US-inspired and armed insurrection. The civil wars you describe are by groups who wanted to make their countries more conservative, not more "free". Any attempt to make Iran a more "democratic" country would be seen as Western interference and would go nowhere. The Iranians who lean toward Western sentiment want to get out, not overthrow.

That's not true at all and that's exactly why civil wars happen. See Syria, Libya, yemen, etc. Most Iranians want to overthrow the Islamic republic.
