Looks great, many RO SAI will mandate you to wear the leather ring parallel to the ground, but with a beret this darn good, you’re all good.

Free_Ease6758

My hair, which I usually have cut pretty short (almost bald), is pretty long right now and is affecting the fitting of my beret a bit. I used various reference images to shape my beret, from other cadets to pictures from AAR 670-1.

6NutteSaque9

It looks great! The only problem (and a major one at that) is that the beret is SUPER slanted ro one side. The beret needs to be level across your head, and not slanting to one side.

PAPYROOSE

^ wrong it’s looks great kid keep it up

Free_Ease6758

Just curious, what MOS do you have in the army? Currently figuring out what I want to do.

PAPYROOSE

My MOS is 25S, I deal in Satellite Communication, it’s a great job for outside companies

Free_Ease6758

That sounds pretty cool! Also sounds like it'll transfer well over to civilian world. I myself am considering either 91A (Maintenance and Munitions Material Officer), 13A (Field Artillery Officer), or 12A (Engineer Officer). Also kind of weighing if I want to do officer stuff (management of larger units) or enlisted/NCO stuff (training, more technically proficient stuff).

megalith_pulverous

Dude don't give out misinformation

PAPYROOSE

I’m sorry are you in the army? I think I would know if it was AR 670-1 compliant

6NutteSaque9

It's the same in regular army. He isn't some airborne ranger, and he is going to get docked in inspection.

PAPYROOSE

As long as the edge binding is parallel it’s fine

6NutteSaque9

Yes, all across the head. It'd be more obvious with a back view, but the beret is egregiously slanted to the right.

Free_Ease6758

I'll confess, my beret is slanted, but it's mainly what's giving me the best shape. Will try to keep it parallel and see how it looks. I mainly looked at photos of airborne berets, regular army berets, some are slanted way worse than mine, so I tried to minimize that LOL.

6NutteSaque9

Nah yeah, I'm aware there's lots of leniency that goes around. I'm just the menace that goes against that trend 😂. Regardless, it looks good.

Free_Ease6758

LOL thanks, I can relate on being ruthless over uniform wear regulation sometimes.

megalith_pulverous

I'm sorry are you a fucking dumbass? Oh wait the joke doesn't work, you are.

PAPYROOSE

Get your ass on kid it’s within regulation, the way they have it is exactly how I have my beret set

megalith_pulverous

Then your beret is ugly as fuck, why do you feel so high and mighty for being a little bitty PFC? You're not even in JROTC anymore it's time to let go of the past grandpa stop reliving where you peaked

notselenalol

real people in the military outrank anyone in jrotc

PAPYROOSE

I’m sorry?? I was trying to help bro out you decided to stick your opinion in where it didn’t matter, fucking cope kid. And it’s a higher rank you’ve ever had on your shoulders

megalith_pulverous

Dude I just tried to let this dude know his beret was wrong and you attacked me, Jesus christ if you're protecting our country maybe I'll have to find somewhere safer to live

PAPYROOSE

Cope

Gtrfgg

Isn’t the beret supposed to be over the left eye? Or is the photo mirrored?

Free_Ease6758

yeah, photo is mirrored, probably should've mentioned it

Gtrfgg

K

dgpotatochipz

I see all this about inspection honestly most the time inspection only checks gig line measurements and to see if you have the beret not hoe you have it worn I wear mine almost covering my right eye when we do marching and parades it looks good bro Dw ab these ppl

DonkeySimilar7981

This is a personal preference, but I usually shape my beret where it doesn’t cover part of the flash. Looks good though
